Yes it was bad. I watched it once. I've never read the books it was based on, and so went in blind. It was incoherent as fuck when it wasn't boring.
I read the books when I was a kid after seeing the movie. The main problem is that they rolled the first two books into one and it becomes too convoluted. This was before Harry Potter and LOTR where you had multiple sequels in the fantasy genre and Disney had the task of telling the story of five books into one film.

Disney's taking a second swing at a Haunted Mansion movie...and hired the writer of Ghostbusters 2016. I fucking hate 2020.

Could Disney shift to a more apolitical stance? Sure. But given their modus-operandi, it's not something that happens overnight. The way it would start is to stop hiring marxists and slowly, over time, begin shedding the ones they already have in a way that looks just like a natural firing than it does for political reasons. A process like that takes years.

I think the shift away from wokeness towards a more apolitical stance could happen a bit sooner than usual once Iger is fully out of the picture and Chapek is forced to try and keep Disney afloat since they lost a fuckton of money this year thanks to COVID-19.

The loss of money can provide a convenient excuse to fire the SJW's since it can be passed off as cost-related layoffs and nobody will bat an eye. The issue is will Chapek and the execs at Disney be willing to take that kind of a step? I'd say a lot of it has to do with several things such as the outcome of the 2020 election, the pace of economic recovery, and whether or not Disney will have several major flops from 2021 onward.

IIRC, @Kari Kamiya posted some screencaps of a thread that discussed the possibility that the situation at Disney is far worse than it looks to us not in the loop, and that a lot of the SJW's in the company are adamantly against trying to reduce spending, especially if it means keeping the woke agenda off the table (even as a temporary cost-cutting measure) and this was at least a month ago upthread, but given how insane 2020 is, I'd believe it a lot more than anything said by Doomcock.

The only way 2020 can get even crazier is if the last third of the year ends up with Clown World going full circle and we get insane and improbable events that are positive like the appeals in the Weeb Wars going way better than expected, Trump winning the 2020 election, GTA VI being finally announced, and Doomcock of all people accidentally being right about something.

I would not be surprised if we see Disney slowly and very quietly step away from the Woke Left all through the early 2020's depending on the remainder of 2020 and 2021 play out.

tbh, i do like reading now and then this discussion, as it doesn't ban linking certain websites and people. (one place i frequent considers bounding into comics alt-right, same for clowfish tv, and i do like to watch those videos/read those articles now and then and just because they don't adhere to woke ideals they get dubbed like that)

What writers? 98% of the movie was improv stiched together like Frankenstein's Monster into some kind of plot.

Nooooo no no no no, what happened to GDT's version? For fuck's sake man.
Holy shit I read about Del Toro's concept and I thought it sounded good. If I had to guess they disagreed with his concept being not a comedy—but they forgot about the quality of Ghostbusters 2016's attempts at comedy.

From what I heard Chapek likely isn't going to be Iger's toady and he'll probably want to leave a legacy of fixing what the previous CEO broke like how normies see HECKIN IGERINO as a hero for saving Disney from big bad Eisner. It'll probably be framed as saving Disney from Corona-chan and not Bob Iger, but everyone who knows knows they wouldn't be in such a bad spot without his shitty decisions and enabling the woke crowd.

Disney should be scared shitless right now because the theme parks have been closed for months and the reopening of WDW isn't making as much money as they hoped. I don't think a California reopening (slated for September) will help much either, since the resort is much smaller than than the Florida one and capacity will similarly be much lower. They haven't exactly succeeded in making Disney+ a big draw either because all I can remember them having is the dumpsterfire Artemis Fowl adaptation.

They absolutely can't continue as normal if they want to get out of this. And they really can't milk the MCU for all it's worth anymore, Chadwick Boseman's death is another sign they need to let it go and stop expecting they can make another 10 more years of MCU blockbusters. Unless that's what the new Disney deepfake technology was for. :suffering: 12 MORE YEARS

Did you see the article about "What will happen to Black Panther II"? As if that's the thing we should be caring about?

I'll try to collect and rehost per usual KF procedure later after I get out from work, but apparently a bunch of police camera footage dropped from the hunt for that guy who was on Discovery Island a little while back

Not a good idea for Disney exec to get their full pay reinstated while their workers living on the edge.

"Living on the edge" reminds me of that Aerosmith song.

One of the Disney family members has been speaking out against this stuff - she's an heiress and she's pissed that the executives are giving themselves more money while the workers are barely getting by. And it is that bad, let me tell you.

I'm sure Walt would be pissed, pretty sure he preferred happy workers over miserable ones.

If the workers went on strike, which they aren't likely to do, they could do what Walt did and say they're all Commies. But I doubt Walt would have treated them like this to begin with.

But then, he just had an animation studio. Today, the people at Disney's animation studios can work from home. The theme park guys, however... do you think they have a choice?

I once knew a girl with severe depression who was obsessed with Disney VHS tapes, and she knew the differences of each box.

They had a great smell.

She should become the new CEO.

Not like they really care, they got their paychecks, as soon as that gets deposited they don't give a shit if the company folds a day later, they can just get another exec Job because they have "Experience" and "Connections" and American Business Culture no longer gives one red fuck about the actual work peoples do.
