A shit ton of past media references?
Shitty rap`?
Starring Seth Rogen?
Oh yeah, another one to add to the modern media hellscape

Dear lord, this looks cringe. It feels like it's gonna be Space Jam 2 all over again - a soulless cash grab that banks on nostalgia and "I clapped when I saw it" appeal. Why are so many movies becoming like this?

I can't believe I'm saying this.

2007's Alvin and the Chipmunks was a mistake, but it's already a better chipmunk movie because they didn't push this creepy toon-cel shit and muh meta-humor that makes the 2000 The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle movie wonder if they sniffed paint thinner, and Alvin and the Chipmunks chipmunk'd the voices despite the celebrity voices.

How do you fuck that important detail up?

Just going by everything else in the trailer, that is the least of this movie's problems.

But here's a REAAAL mindfuck for you, the original script for this movie was the Rescue Rangers getting back to stop online piracy, I'm not even shitting you.
Oh no, that's still the script they're going with. 100%. Despite the plot synopsis in the description being purposefully vague, if you read the rumored script synopsis and this new one side-by-side?
It's been years since the end of Rescue Rangers and Chip and Dale are currently living a life of mediocrity in a world where humans and cartoon characters live together (think the "Roger Rabbit" universe) meanwhile traditionally animated characters are doing their best to live in a world of remakes and reboots with realistic computer graphics. Now Chip and Dale must renew their partnership to try and save a friend from a fate worse than death: Video piracy.
In “Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers,” Chip and Dale are living amongst cartoons and humans in modern-day Los Angeles, but their lives are quite different now. It has been decades since their successful television series was canceled, and Chip (voice of Mulaney) has succumbed to a life of suburban domesticity as an insurance salesman. Dale (voice of Sandberg), meanwhile, has had CGI surgery and works the nostalgia convention circuit, desperate to relive his glory days. When a former cast mate mysteriously disappears, Chip and Dale must repair their broken friendship and take on their Rescue Rangers detective personas once again to save their friend’s life.”
This just reads like a more descriptive version of the rumored one, except without the piracy hook.

This is going to be a complete shitshow.

Disney to Develop Residential Communities
"Walt Disney Co. said it plans to start developing residential communities, starting with one in Rancho Mirage, in California's Coachella Valley.

"As we prepare to enter our second century, we are developing new and exciting ways to bring the magic of Disney to people wherever they are, expanding storytelling to storyliving," Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Josh D'Amaro said.

The new residential development business will be called Storyliving by Disney, the company said.

Disney said the Rancho Mirage community is being developed in collaboration with DMB Development. It will include at least one section expressly for age 55+ residents, the company said. Home buyers will be able to choose from estates, single family homes and condominiums.

Other locations across the U.S. are under consideration for future development, Disney said.

At each location, Disney cast members will operate the community association, the company said. Through a club membership, Disney will also provide access to certain experiences, such as wellness programming, entertainment, philanthropic endeavors, seminars and more."

Not content with owning all of our entertainment, they also want to own all of our homes as well.

This sounds like a much lamer epcot. If you are going to give me a dystopia give me something interesting.

Disney will now be new China! This will be the theme song for the workers until morale improves.

I once read something by someone who knew a guy who worked at Disney. He said it was like a cult there. Not that it has anything to do with this, of course...

I kind of like the idea... but I don't know if they can do it well.
The bad CGI ghetto scene seems just a bit too self aware that I have my doubts that it's going to fall flat. It sucks because I think there's room for the Roger Rabbit style movie people have been dying for, but I don't think this is it. And Rescue Rangers isn't the franchise people wanted for that concept either.

Calling it now, Monty or Gadget will be the one who disappears, and the villain is going to be Gadget. Why? Because she's bitter about being yet another washed-up has-been toon that doesn't make enough from royalties or whatever and she just really wants another chance to shine, or whatever.

And someone pointed this out to me, but General Motors is going to be mining lithium from the Salton Sea soon. This is interesting to note because it's an hour's drive away from Rancho Mirage.

Coincidence?

Okay, so we have a weird mix of Roger Rabbit meets a movie called Dickie Roberts. Ya know, this could have worked in a strange way, like maybe doing a sort of similar thing with Roger Rabbit where you have these characters from passed shows (2D and CGI ones) now being washed up and shit. But, it's clear they don't have any smart writers for it. But here's a REAAAL mindfuck for you, the original script for this movie was the Rescue Rangers getting back to stop online piracy, I'm not even shitting you.
This is why I'm glad that they're never going to make a sequel to Roger Rabbit. Also WTF is My Little pony in this Chernobyl of a movie? At least Space Jam 2 made sense, this is just retarded nostalgia pandering.

I think theyre doing what Roger Rabbit did, becauae that also had shows and characters that didnt belobg to WB

Chip looks bad because since they fired all the 2D animators and have no one there who can do it, they just slapped a toon shader on a 3D model. I haven't seen the trailer because I have no interest in it, but I keep hearing Roger Rabbit is in it and they did the same thing to him. I guess they shouldn't have pissed off their last good 2D animator after Tangled.

They look like they are from an old mobile game.

Coincidence?
For the people with cushy jobs, sure. The poor people that are going to actually be in the toxic waste zone of the Salton Sea day in and day out aren't going to be living so close to Palm Springs, they're going to live in the vicinity of the toxic waste zone like they already do. For real, the Salton Sea is a horrifically polluted area and ecological disaster and I would not want to live anywhere near there.

Who The Fuck Remade Roger Rabbit with special guest stars, Chip & Dale! Should be the real title.

Also they're doing just like how Disney did with the DuckTales reboot by giving wrong sounding voices to the nephews.

I don't even know what Disney is anymore to me it all ended when Michael Eisner stepped down back in 2006.

Anybody remember when he used to appear before a televised Disney feature to give a little inside look or trivia on The Wonderful World of Disney on ABC back in the day.

Final thing if this is what Disney has Seth Rogen doing going forward it'll be nothing compared to what he might do to wreck the Darkwing Duck reboot.
