Seriously. They'd probably make Grendel and his mother "sympathetic" or some shit.
There was a book and then an animated movie about grendel being the victim. (Not exactly that but by today’s standards a victim)
They would butcher the original story because it was "problematic".
I really want the Brits and Anglos to chino out so we can have a holy animation war

What is it with all the villains getting the evil white washed out of them, and being waifish woobie blobs all the time? What happened to a villain being sympathetic, yet a lost cause at the same time?

I swear, Twilight: Breaking Dawn was a mistake, when it comes to happy endings in fiction.

Not sure if we’re talking about the same book, but if you mean John Gardner’s Grendel, I can tell you here and now that that man didn’t woobify shit. The Grendel in that book fucking ate people, Gardner was just a skilled enough writer that he could make you care about him anyway.

I don’t know of any movie based off of it, but the last thing I would want to see is a Disney adaption of Grendel. Forget the Christian overtones and themes, they’d turn one of the best written monster protagonists I’ve ever seen and give him the goddamn Malificent treatment. They’d make him a sad teddy bear man and merch the fuck out of him for good measure.

I wouldn’t want them touching Beowulf, either. Disney lost its knack for adaptions a long time ago, and I really think a good Beowulf movie or TV show would require a level of respect towards the source material no one at Disney HQ really has.

We need more European stories. Imagine a Disney Beowulf.
They would once again display the stupid double-standard of cultural appropriation by making the Norse be nothing but a fun costume in a multi-ethnic rag-tag group. Hrothgar would be the only white dude (with a genuine northern European accent) while everyone else would be all over the place. Beowulf would play second-fiddle to a strong, black, ambiguously gay woman. Grendel’s mother would be Queen Latifah and have a sassy song and dance routine about appreciating differences.

The REAL villain (besides the racism of the humans) would be the dragon creature: a CGI beast with no personality that everyone, including Grendel, teams up to fight against in the end. But not kill, no drive it off or transform into a turkey or something to make the kids in the audience laugh.

It wouldn’t be called “Beowulf”, it would be called something weird and cheeky like “Going Home: Grendel’s Tail”.

How long has Pocahontas been out? It's like Disney almost tries to forget that movie exists. Even The Black Cauldron shows up on their movie line-up.
Nigga, what TF have you been smoking, and where can I get some? Disney acknowledges Pocahontas pretty often. I mean, for God's sake, she's an official Disney Princess! She even appeared alongside the others in Ralph Breaks the Internet:

Not the actions of a company who "tries to forget that it exists".

I'd hate to borrow from the Nostalgia Critic, of all people, but fuck it, it's a salient point:
NC: Oh, for God's sake... Soulless, why are you being so obvious with how evil you are?!

Soulless: Well, it's Hip Writing Tip #1: "If you say you're doing something painful and stupid, it's immediately no longer painful and stupid."

Okay, so we have a weird mix of Roger Rabbit meets a movie called Dickie Roberts. Ya know, this could have worked in a strange way, like maybe doing a sort of similar thing with Roger Rabbit where you have these characters from passed shows (2D and CGI ones) now being washed up and shit. But, it's clear they don't have any smart writers for it. But here's a REAAAL mindfuck for you, the original script for this movie was the Rescue Rangers getting back to stop online piracy, I'm not even shitting you.
