The issue they don't seem to comprehend is that it's effectivelly ideology-neutral. Oceania isn't the only totalitarian state brought up, and I doubt the other two espouce the same ideology.
IIRC, the novel in the novel said, that the ideologies of the other states may be differemt, but also, that it makes very little difference for the citizens (you can of course claim, that anything the novel in the novel said is a lie and anything the Party said, too and that Oceania is in fact a crazy shithole like North Korea building a whole fake world around itself)..
Didn't hear about that, but it did remind me of another "legend" of sorts. Some animators apparently created a short of Mickie and Minnie having sex as a joke. Walt called them into his office and made them watch it with him. After it was over, he laughed and then fired them.
Kinda surprised nobody's mentioned David Kawena yet. Dude has a weird..."interest" in drawing male Disney characters as big-schlonged underwear models, even if said characters are minors.
It surprises me the fact that nobody sat down and thought properly "Hold on, we're gonna publish graphic pornographical content of beloved children's characters in a magazine for adults. Are we sure this is a good idea?"
That and i'm surprised Disney yet hasn't sued them.
EDIT: And yes there's been porn of everything including Disney even before the Internet, but I'm just surprised that this was accepted into a well-known website that's commonly not affiliated with porn or cartoons. That's what surprises me.
Seriously, Disney mashups like this aren't even shocking at this point anymore. It's just lame, pitiful attempts at getting noticed, if nothing else.
Any time I see an artist mash Disney characters up with something or uses the Princesses to make a *~statement~*, I instantly assume the artist is creatively bankrupt, because anything involving Disney that isn't straight up fan art is a painfully obvious "babby's first attempt at subversive art" (even though everyone and their mom has done so-called subversive Disney art at this point).
Seriously, Disney mashups like this aren't even shocking at this point anymore. It's just lame, pitiful attempts at getting noticed, if nothing else.
