Everyone knows Disney World is “The Most Magical Place on Earth”, with all of the four Parks packed to the brim with exciting rides, attractions, and fine dining. The Disney resort in Orlando, Florida proves to be insanely popular, with the Magic Kingdom being the most-visited theme park in the entire world. But many cracks are starting to form for Disney Guests with many realizing there are a lot of issues piling up.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic s well as other reasons, the Disney Parks have struggled recently, increasing prices and offering a less-than-ideal product for Guests. From lackluster food, smaller portion sizes, quality control issues, and price increases in seemingly every area, Guests are starting to become frustrated with the Walt Disney World experience.

These frustrations were shown in a huge thread on Reddit, where a Guest shared their “miserable” experience while visiting Walt Disney World recently. They claimed that Disney World has become too expensive and not worth the effort or money. The post gained a ton of traction with nearly 400 comments from other Guests. See the full post from u/ExternalCool2000 below:

User u/vtfb79 claimed to have worked for Disney previously, saying:

Used to work in Revenue for WDW, oh my the dollars that come in. Everyone is literally a walking dollar sign. One of the key metrics they look at is Revenue per Attendee. What does the average person spend. If Revenue and Revenue per attendee both go up, they couldn’t care less about attendance…unless they want more revenue….
User u/indipit commented:

Unfortunately, I think this is the way Disney has chosen to reduce crowds. If you keep charging more for the experience, those who cannot afford it will fall away, and only those who can afford it will be there. Lines will decrease naturally as a function of this effect.
It sucks, but I don’t think Disney cares about ‘ the little guy’ in the long run. Once they hit a certain price point, it will balance out.
Maybe another visionary will step up with another gate that is just as much fun, affordable and magical. Universal is getting better, with Harry Potter and Jurassic Park properties.
User /ThomW shared their idea of what could help this issue:

They really need another big park to spread people out. They’re cramming more and more hotels full of people into the same parks that have been there since the 80s and it’s collapsing. :/
User u/Stewbattalborg criticized how Disney ios handling its other Parks:

The need to finish Animal Kingdom and fix EPCOT first.
user u/lunardeathgod agree with the original post, saying:

Disney tries to find a balance between price and park attendance. If the park is always full, they increase the ticket price until park attendance goes down. We are in that process now, they will keep raising until attendance stops, then that will be the new normal.
Not defending Disney, because it does suck that prices are going up while services goes down.

Disney Genie+ and Lightning Lane were released last year to much criticism and frustration, leaving many Guests feeling confused by the service. In theory, this paid service should enhance Guests’ experience at the Parks, but in practice, it seemed to just be an expensive itinerary planner. These paid services allow Guests to skip lines for a price, meaning Disney now has a financial incentive to have long lines. At Disney World, for $15.00 per day per Guest, you can skip the long standby queue by making a Lightning Lane reservation (new FastPass) and returning at that time.

Many Guests are also becoming frustrated with Disney’s new Genie+ and Lightning Lane systems, calling it overpriced and just another way for the Walt Disney Company to make money. The service is supposed to help the Guest experience but many are left frustrated and confused.

At each Park, however, there are two attractions that Guests would need to purchase a separate Lightning Lane ticket for if they wanted to skip those lines. Those attractions are:

  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
  • Space Mountain
  • Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
  • Frozen Ever After
  • Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
  • Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
  • Avatar Flight of Passage
  • Expedition Everest

Many Guests also blame the issues the Parks are facing on current Disney CEO Bob Chapek, who is “controversial” within the Disney community to say the least. Many Guests feel Chapek is only profit-driven and is not creative enough to lead the Disney Parks and Resorts. A few months ago, a petition was even created to remove Bob Chapek as became one of the most signed on the entire website. Lots of Guests are calling Disney’s upcoming Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser too expensive as well, with the future of the Resort being questionable at best.

Stupid wageys; Disney's parks are for worthwhile people, like China and Globalists' spawns. Your place in life is buying and hyping our shit.
But if you really want to experience it, ask Steinberg for a loan...

Anti capitalist consoomers that continually push for increasing corporate power and censorship are upset that their favourite corporation only cares about money and power.

This is our generation people. Fucking geniuses over here

There are some mysteries in life that will never be solved; Who created the Universe? What is the meaning of Life? And why do grown fucking adults go to Disney Land?
Especially when the superior Knott's Berry Farm (decent roller coasters, awesome Halloween shit) and Medieval Times (eat a whole fucking chicken and watch jousting) are right across town.

I thought going to Disney world or land or whatever was supposed to be a once in a lifetime experience and people therefore expected to pay out the ass for it.

Kind of like weddings. Which also aren't once in a lifetime anymore.

Huh.
Growing up in SoCal, going to Disneyland all the fucking time is like a total rich girl thing. It's like a status symbol for them.

Why pay for Disney when you can spend the same amount or cheaper going to a cool travel destination around the world. So many cool places out there you could spend on that you’d be spending just a few days at Disney World.

Literally. Why go on "It's a Small World" when you can literally travel to and genuinely experience some of those countries for less money?

Walt Disney would fucking hate the people running his company. They've abandoned timeless animation techniques that he helped pioneer in favor of whatever will make them the most money (Walt famously said: We don't make movies to make money, we make money to make more movies) and have turned Disneyland/Disneyworld into The Most Expensive Places On Earth when Walt specifically said the parks were "For the whole world" and wanted as many people (and especially children) to attend as possible.

Also, pretty sure Walt wouldn't like them knowingly hiring convicted pedophiles like Victor Salva even if they'd "served their time".

On one hand the prices went from "not cheap" to fucktardedly expensive a while back, but precoof they would reach capacity at least a dozen times a year, so it seems there's people still willing to pay.

Disney is (was) for families with young children, for whom globetrotting is an expensive and stressful proposition. Why put the kids on a TATL (or God forbid TPAC) flight to see some other country, which they will tire of in minutes, when you can take a quick trip to Orlando or LA and keep them entertained for days? You can do National Lampoon's European Vacation when they're a little older.

My parents bought us all a trip with my kids. Don't get me wrong it was very nice of them and I was grateful but also it was pure hell in a lot of ways. Everything is scheduled now and there is nothing relaxing about it especially as a parent. The crowds are insane, the consumerism is way worse than I remember, they put you through TSA style security like cattle. The seething mass of humanity is revolting, it's like eating at Panera Bread, I hate everyone present and thus I must hate myself or I wouldn't be there either.

When I was like 12 we stayed in a cabin and I rode the boat or the bus anywhere by myself and it was this amazing taste of freedom. I spent a lot of time on the little zoo island that was nixed in favor of animal kingdom, it was so quiet being only accessible via ferry. Nothing like that exists anymore for my kid, it's not efficient, there is no draw. Mom has you booked to ride the big coaster at 2:15pm, there is no breaking away, it's too urban.

The one consolation is that if you don't mind the massive hit on your wallet you can get toasted on themed drinks at Epcot.
I never really liked Disneyland but went a couple time with relatives, we stayed in shitholes in Anaheim so hotel costs were not that much. Do they still have the fast pass system, last time I went was 05 and lines were bad but not to an insane level and fast passing got us to front of almost everything really quick?

I was talking about Disney World, when I was a kid we went to Disneyland CA as part of a trip to my uncle's place but my parents forgot the tickets, they had to spend all their spending/pocket money on new tickets and all I remember is that my Mom thought a 'kid leash' was necessary (I was so mortified) and my sister HAD to wait FOUR HOURS to ride Dumbo, the glorified mother fucking carousel and it was the 90's so it wasn't like I could just play a game on my phone or watch youtube. I wish I could say 8 year old me was gracious about my disdain for the predicament but I made my frustrations known.

Disneyland CA is like a 6-Flags tier experience from what I can tell/remember (mostly just the line for Dumbo and the embarrassment). Disney World FL is kinda like being in a different country, the scale of it all is pretty impressive.

The thing is, despite the increasing price and decreasing quality, the parks are shoulder to shoulder, people are packed in like sardines. The only way to control the crowds while keeping prices low would be to put an absolute limit on capacity, and for that the parks would be sold out an easy year+ in advance. The parks at their present size cannot even remotely begin to serve the number of normies who want to go to them. Even if they had a magic wand and could double the size and number of rides in every park overnight, I don't think it would resolve the problem.

The weirdest thing to me is adults with no children going to disney.

This fucking country needs to grow the fuck up
What's even worse are the theme days for adults and weddings being held there. Any woman who obsesses over Disney princesses would be better off getting married at an actual castle than that shithole.

From what I've heard, pretty much everyone gets fast passes now, so you don't get much benefit from them.

I'm sorry they WHAT when did they hire this fat fucking pedophile?
He was convicted of recording a 12 year old giving him oral in 1988. He was sentenced to 3 years but only ended up serving 15 months.
Disney hired him to produce the movie Powder in 1995. They claim they weren't informed of his offense until after filming began, but frankly it's something they should have known.

Seriously. I went to Niagara Falls and the Buffalo Zoo on my vacation this fall, and both together cost less than a day at Disney. And as interesting as I think Disney is from an architect and design perspective, Niagara Falls is way more impressive.

We need to hire mercenaries to pull a heist on walts frozen body.

Then we need to replaces his arms with guns and his dick with anti-tank canon and let him go to town on his wayward creation.
