I played it a couple years ago. This game is a gem. And nope, the usual suspects are aware of it (just look at all the reviews that lust for Mel!). I'm not sure if they understand that Buddhism is a complete opposite of whatever they believe in, but it's on them.

I would think Gomi would be the troon-bait character due to her schtick being a lesbian who wants dem' bewbz n shieeet while Mel is the choice for straight men.

I think her character is entirely about self-acceptance, not getting a BBL or new bewbz. IIRC, in one of the endings, she says that she doesn't care about boobs anymore, or something along those lines. But yeah, I can imagine someone taking her at face value and yelling that she is a twans metaphor.
