Old news at this point, but I did a little digging of my own, found Rusty's personal facebook, and his Dad's - turns out "James Steele" is a red herring, it turns out his dad is actually Santa Claus.

Also couldn't find any reference to him being dead on any of his family's facebook pages either. Lots of boomer posting though, plenty of that.
