Has anyone ITT managed to pull off a Vengeance Paladin build?
You need Fanaticism Aura for physical Paladins to really be useful. The increased attack speed cannot be beaten and it affects your merc as well. If you want to deal elemental damage your merc has to run Infinity and you'll want to play a Tesladin (and you need dual Dreams on top of that). That's the only way to make Holy Shock work and it comes from your gear not your skills as you'll be running Fanaticism.

Most people use Grief for the Holy Shock Paladin but some use Crescent Moon. Holy Shock Paladin is a very expensive build. And is not nearly as good as other top Paladin builds nor as good as the top builds for most other characters.
When I look at the skill trees pairing Vengeance with Conviction seems like it should work (and there are guides out there claiming it does), but crowds became unbeatable by + or - Nightmare Chaos Sanctuary. Even before then mana was a challenge, maybe this is just a case of skewed perception but it seemed like this melee build was chugging potions more than my caster builds.
Not every skill is useful in Hell aside from synergies.

Got past the wall and Hell has been a breeze since I upgraded and did a respec to make my Eldritch/Demon build more efficient. I've only had one death in Act 3 getting caught by lightning ghosts, they seem to be the only enemies doing major damage to me because everything else is dropping like nothing and barely hitting me. After that death I managed to not get any ghosts spawned so I ran all the way through Mephisto and took him down like nothing. Same with Act 4 and Diablo, picking up the Hell version of Hephasto on the way for a new tank. Even Act 5 so far is giving no challenge and I managed to rescue Anya minutes before the server maintenance. Running Hell from Countess to rescuing Anya in one day seems pretty good, and gives more proof to how broken Warlock is when I could barely kill anything in Hell before with other characters. Looking forward to finishing when I wake up then maybe I'll go back to the Barbarian with some of the new gear I've found or start the Paladin.

I come bearing the saddest news imaginable, namely that sunder charms are equally as rare if not more rare than Griffon. Not even gonna mention the Uber Anccients mats, didn't see a single one drop. If their unique jewels are also included in the grail chronicle, then the cosmetic rewards are going to be unavailable for 99.999999999999999% of the playerbase.
Let me break down for you why:
1. You need 5 statues, 1 from each act boss. They only have a chance to drop if the boss is terrorized.
2. Outside of Andariel and Diablo, you're not farming any of the other bosses without Enigma or running a lightning sorc. It simply takes too long. 14% chance to get the right tomb for Duriel (you are NOT getting that with 30 minute TZs), the insane complexity of Durance of Hate + exploding skeleton niggers, willowisps in Worldstone Keep + every immunity in the game for Throne of Destruction + wasting time between waves before Baal.
3. The drop rate is abysmal, even lower than essences, and even lower for dropping statues NOT from their respective act bosses (ie. Baal statue from Diablo)
4. I think there are six possible jewel drops in total, and the drop depends on the last Ancient killed. Their lethality varies greatly, and getting anything from Madawc (the least threatening) will mean longer and significantly more risky fights. This also means each Ancient has a 50% chance of dropping the jewel you need.
5. You need an extremely strong build dedicated to killing them and knowledge of the fight. Cocky people went in with their hardcore chars and got instagibbed.

I love how D2R completely drowned out any D4 news. Legit found out a new season is starting tomorrow, and I was tempted for a BRIEF moment, until I found out that the Doom cosmetics are locked behind a paywall, and they draw from the worst nu-Doom.

I hate that they've turned the Butcher into Barry, 63 with dental problems and toy horns. The previous incarnations were proper demons.

I saw this on Reddit. Is this fucking normal for this game?

Cosmetic prices are absurd. I don't know how they can justify charging this much for an armor set. I don't really play other Blizzard games besides WoW classic. I can't imagine wanting to play Diablo 4 when I could play other stuff. You could buy Doom Eternal and Doom 2016 for $50 right now. And you could probably buy every Doom game for the fake discounted price.

Absolutely retarded.

Blizzard has teams of people whose entire job is to determine the best price point for microtransactions. Most major studios and publishers have similar teams. Mobile game studios use the same people who build casinos and gambling websites. They know that there are hordes of chinese and korean players who are willing to waste their money on these costumes.

I feel like they don't really know what the concept of a season is. Adding a new dynamic angle to existing gameplay. nah, it's more helltide bullshit. "Go to helltide and do this thing but you turn into the butcher and uhh yeah that's it".

I finally decided to look up a couple videos for Warlock echoing strike builds to see how much I've been fucking up. I didn't realize what Defilers do so I've been wasting time using Goatman as cannon fodder with my book and dagger I was using since the beginning. I used my 2nd respec to get all echoing striking synergies maxed and hex bane instead of wasting points in things like goats, psychic ward and cleave, with a cryptic axe Insight my max damage is up to 14k. It could be more if I switch to a Might Aura merc, but I still prefer having a cold arrow bow merc instead. Plus something about the Warlock comes off too gay, so I need to have a beard running around with him. I'm not sure if I should worry about upgrading my weapon any more, I still need to get a good shield base for Spirit let alone runes for an Enigma plus all the standard endgame unique accessories. It'd also be nice to find more skill up charms to get more demon skills maxed without spending my last 12 or so points getting to level 99.

My main problem now is I feel too unfocused on what I should be doing since beating Hell to prepare for endgame stuff. I keep going back and forth between different runs for runes/gear or just grinding terror zones trying to level up and I don't feel I'm getting much progress in either. It doesn't help that I keep finding cool stuff for other characters so I'm bouncing around trying to bring other classes up through Hell. I got a few upgrades to help my Whirlwind Barb and I have a decent Hammerdin going through Act 2 Hell now, plus I started a Javazon because I found the lvl 81 unique poison spear for weapon switch that my classic Javazon needed for all the lightning immunes. I'm also finding cool shit for Necromancer and Druid so now I want to start one of them next after Javazon gets to Hell. I'm going to play every class eventually but I also kind of want to start making them now to move all the class specific gear to their respective characters and free up more space in the shared stash. But I'm getting too ADD, I really need to just move all my magic find gear to the Warlock and do more quick runs until I find what I need. I'm trying to get a system going where I can do Eldritch/Shenk, Pindleskin, Lower Kurast chests, then finish with a Countess run so I can save/exit and make a new game without using TPs. I'm not sure if that's the most efficient way to do things instead of just picking one area trying to farm for a couple hours. I should probably focus more on bosses though, like I've seen Mephisto is the best place for farming, but I just hate having to walk around finding the stairs and getting shanked by those little stabby fuckers. Chaos Sanctuary is pretty easy for my Warlock, so maybe I'll do a bunch of those instead.

Anyone have any good advice for the end game grind? Is it better to just go through terror zones killing everything, or should I stick to the standard boss areas and cows? Is there any secret tricks to farming for things like SOJ rings and all the unique gear everyone uses like Harlequin Shakos and Arachnid Mesh, or do I have to just go into public games and look for gooks to trade with?

I'm inches away from enigma. I just gotta wait for the gook who offered a Jah on one of my trades to wake up. Missed it since I figured the item was worthless and went cycling, came back to 33 unread offers/declines.
It's done. Different gook, but I got my Jah. Filthy gaijins tried to lowball me with Lo and the like.

And there's the 'nigma. Found a pretty OK wire fleece in the meantime.

to top it off, an alright 6/3 CTA. First time ever having it. Was a bit pointless on singer barb. Now I can slowly start saving up for a proper torch.

edit: and here's how abyss warlock fares in TZs. That's a terrorized Diablo with around ~200k HP melting in a couple of seconds. Without enigma this run would take around 10 minutes as I had to kill everything on the way to the seals. It's so much better than playing sorc it's not even funny. I have barbarian levels of HP and even accidentally teleporting inside Lord De Seis and his pack only almost killed me.

for reference, this is how "little" damage my skills do - from top to bottom chains, abyss and miasma bolt. Nowhere near the gigantic numbers of blizzard, meteor or blessed hammer.

You know in hindsight I never realized until now how each Warlock in the trailer matches the overall attitude and demeanor of the respective game's audience.

Immortal has a sassy, cocky rebellious sheboon, in other words perfect fit for the type of untermensch who plays such predatory tripe on a phone. Your typical impulsive nigger is going to love this. Dem wypipo wronged me so ahm gunna summon shabbal-al-tyrone. Her story is that Hell just listens because she's a strong blx womxn and she do whateva she want. Also funny how the only nigger in the trailer says "Let them hang us for what they've done". :story:

IV has the edgelord. I have very little to say about him, but he looks infinitely better than the 'boon, and at least you can believe he is there to summon demons. His story is that Hell obeys because he's edgier and cooler than them. Perfect for underages and my fellow infantile zillenials.

And then there's D2R, where we got a sane Sheogorath. The oldest, most venerated entry gets the biggest 1773739904809.png , and it's just an old White guy. His story is that Hell kneels because he was tired of doing the same before Zakarum.

🗿incoming: Blizzard might or might have not intented this, but the Warlock progression (old sagacious White man -> young arrogant White man -> sheboon) is basically the story of every White invention. Closest example would be the smartphones and shaniquas believing they're equal or superior to the people who invented them.

The other half never got to play D2 when it released.

I bought it on steam and forced him to place with me, we are currently up to act three. I've made him walk and let him explore where ever he wants to go, i rolled a new toon, first time playing a sorc, and loving it just for teleport. He turned around and said to me, i fucking at hate act 3 this is for gay cunts.

Right then i fell in love with him all over again. But seriously walking act three by myself eh it kinda sucks but whatever, walking with another person who doesn't understand the map layout was incredibly painful. I broke my rule an went and got my warlock and gave him every waypoint except durance 2. Just so we could make some bloody progress.

I've also been hanging around the normal free gear games, I've got a full set of tal rashas, some really nice high end gear for my sorc. And I've been pillaging shit for hubby's barb he's basically kitted out with the best shit i can find/scab off low tier games. Even got some better gear for my Jav zon so i can finally start progressing through Nightmare.

To be fair, A3 contains the only possible case of an actual dead end in D2. Normally, zones are connected according to the waypoint list and (except for first and last) contain an entrance and an exit. Great Marsh is an exception, where it will sometimes have no exit, and Spider Forest will end up having two, connecting directly to it and the Flayer Jungle. Couple that with the fact that GM can also contain Willowisps and you have one of the main reasons A3 is so hated (the other one being the exploding midget skeleton niggers).

I remember loving Act 3 as a child. Maybe it was because of the jungle aesthetic and bodyguard, but going through that jungle and finding all the pieces really is annoying. I remember accidentally throwing away the eye and logging off, meaning i had to go back and get it again.

Act 1 and 2 are still king though.

I have a love hate relationship with act 2, but the arcane has always been my favourite.

Act 3 is way too long and has RNG quests unlike anything else in the game. No where else forces you to check random mini dungeons to find the right one.

I like Act 3, until I play act 3 then I get sick of it and wish the pygmies were in a better place.

...it's always the Ruined Temple. Always. Has been for the past 26 years. It is also the first or second temple you check, since it's located in Kurast Bazaar. Upper Kurast and Kurast Causeway temples can be skipped entirely, hell I'm certain most people aren't even aware that the Causeway temples exist.
edit: besides, complaining about RNG in Diablo is like complaining about there being sand on the beach. The whole game is RNG.

Yep, been that way since before I jumped on to try it. Blizzard are absolute price-gougers now, and virtually nothing they offer across any of their games is value for money anymore - ironic considering how good a value both WC3 and Frozen Throne were.

I suspect there are more cosmetics in the cash shop than there are available to the Free player in the base game...

Funnily enough, that's an aspect of why I don't play WoW anymore: It's old and extremely outdated by my standards now, and I could easily buy a host of better games for a cheaper price, so why bother?

In my case, D4 was free, and I have someone wanting to play it. Without either one of those I wouldn't have given it a second.

Is there a community list of set and unique items in Diablo 2 that could possibly be worth hanging on to? I've got my stash stuffed with items but aside from my endgam goals I don't have a good sense of whether most of them are worth keeping. I'd like to give myself flexibility to roll a new character and benefit from goods in my shared stash, so I'm mostly looking for a list that helps me differentiate "useful for leveling/endgame" from "gold items you'll never, ever equip on anyone or anything."

For example, I've got a Spire of Honor. I suspect no Paladin will ever want to use it and it uses 8 spots in my stash, but I don't want to drop it and then find it in a "use this on your merc before you get Infinity" list. I need something that will give me confidence to sell/drop a bunch of stuff.
