The countries coming out the strongest against this are in the EU like the Netherlands/Germany IIRC. The U.S. should absolutely be spanking these fucking companies but why would the Congress represent the people?

it's so fucking dumb...an actual problem preying on people and they couldn't give a fuck but I'd also wager they have no idea or go 'LOL THEYRE DUMB AND DESERVE IT STUPID POORS'

Here's a timestamp of the larger video showing why 'the crests' are such a big deal. 2 minutes...please watch lol

https://youtube.com/watch?v=o17lBUZgjTs:1681
At this point they're just trying to turn video games into virtual gambling without anyway for a player to get a payout so the house always wins. I wonder how long it will be until governments start regulating games like they're casinos or gambling in general.

OK, I'm really going to need some actual citations on this being pay to win. A lot of arm flapping about dropping four, five, six figures to max out a character, but very little about what that actually means - viable for end game? The only way to progress past a certain level? Or is it just a bunch of sweaty grognards whimpering over a few stat points difference?
So you would be okay with a little pay to win, as long as it's not too much? Where is the cutoff though?

Honestly, if you have played a video game (particularly a mobile game) in the past five years I'm not sure why you would need this broken down to you since they are literally all the same. Before you ask, no I haven't tried Diablo:Immortal because I refuse to give Blizzard downloads and support their current business model.

Gaystoner just put a video up showing that it's basically the difference between completing a level 10 g-rift in D3 vs a level 90 g-rift when you have the crests that you can buy. I don't think any further proof is necessary to show that this game is a money sink and a bad place to spend your money at that.

No surprise, the cash grab mobile game is shit. Anyone that has wrinkles on their brain new this was going to be the case when it was announced.

What I do not understand is people saying the gameplay is good. It looks like they ripped it straight from D3, and turned down all the challenge. All the videos I have seen have people straight up ignoring mechanics. Looks boring as fuck.

For every one person talking trash about these shitty games as a service/gacha games and refusing to take part there's 3 people giving them $100s per month.

Elden Ring may be a way better game but it alone will never make the same amount of money genshin/popular mobile game of the week makes in just a year or two. At least not without 2 more entries, and 6 more DLCs over the course of ten years.

The rot has set in and the only way to win the game is to pretend it doesn't exist.
it doesn't really matter how many whales fund a game, you have to look at what you get out of it at your spending point.

given how diablo immortal is made by a company that is running on the inbred design mantra of "bigger numbers = better" for over a decade, that's exactly what you get: do the same shitty content you did already, but with higher numbers this time! - only a retard would pay for this. at which point I also can't fault the company for exploiting the shit of those dumbfucks, there's a fucking sucker born every day, you'd do the same with double-digit IQ customers like that. it's only logical more companies want in on that racket, but not every company does, and it doesn't work in every game anyway.

this is an addendum to the first video posted

https://youtube.com/watch?v=YF--ytWn8mU:0
watch the videos i posted. Its not just 'viable for endgame' but dealing with the 'systems' in place. Josh Hayes does loads of breakdowns on MMOs and mobile games with a fair 'this game is fun but this also happens' towards the micro transactions.

He obliterated New World and this game is looking to get the same treatment
eh, for new games maybe (which is piss easy because most of them are shit). for old or "dead" mmos he does the bare minimum and judges them for borderline stupid shit, in the most casual fucking way because turns out MMOs require a certain time investment and "community" involvement to get most or even all out of it, which he can't and won't do because it would mean one video every few months. so he plays them for a few days and then takes a look at the store, missing half the time what the shit in there even means or how it affects the game.
imagine judging LA2 or eve by going solo pvp, never raid in WoW or it's clones, or never RP in "shit" games like ryzom. it's dumb and the worst fucking form of clickbait.

you gotta remember he's an original neverwinter player, I wouldn't necessary call that the best foundation to be above shit games and shit business practices - that company was notorious for putting in an unpatched dupe bug from STO at launch (which was already fixed there months before), among other stupid shit, which drove the economy so hard against a wall they had to roll back the server several days EDIT: the actual rollback was only 7 hours, while the dupe was going on several days if not over a week. you can imagine what the game looked like after that point. ask him about fucking caturday and see what he says (that neverwinter stuff was the absolute worst shit I've ever seen in MMOs in 2 decades, and I played shit like wildstar and TOR at launch). ffs cryptic always had a bad rep with shit monetization and game design, but he only quit after it became "too much", while gladly p(l)aying for years before that point.

The Quin69 guy is now up to $15k+ NZD (~$9600 USD) spent on this "game," and still does not have a 5/5 Star Legendary Gem. For these streamers, when does it get to the point where it's too much for them?

Also, Blizzard gave away the stingiest possible reward, in celebration of 10 million downloads of the game:

I think that sums up Immortal, start to whenever the fucking finish actually is given the existence of whales.

I don't understand Diablo Immortal. I mean, I fully expected the game to be designed for whaling from the moment I knew NetEase was involved; what I don't get is who the hell thought it would be a good idea to release it on PC.

Like, red shirt guy et al. weren't pissed because they wanted Immortal, specifically, on PC. The crowd's reaction was poor because support for Diablo 3 hadn't been a thing for a while by that point and there were no news about a new, proper release. Everyone wanted a new Diablo, specifically for PC!

But apparently in their head this whole debacle must've meant that everyone really wanted Immortal on pc. Of course this brilliant revelation coming from the same retards that thought announcing a mobile Diablo game at blizzcon, of all places, would've been a good idea to begin with.

Had Immortal only released on mobile nobody would've batted an eye. I mean, of course somebody would've complained, but most people would not have given a shit about a phone game.
Instead they decided to give a bunch of free ammunition to retards like Rich Campbell (is he still sandbagging his FFXIV playthrough?) and I have to purge my youtube feed from cringe stuff like "Diablo IMMORAL is designed to steal the SOUL of your CHILDREN with PREDATORY TACTICS!"

Or maybe Blizzard realizes that these cycles of bad press only last for a week or two before people stop caring and they figure Immortal is still gonna turn a buck in the long run. Meh.

Probably because stuff like Genshin Impact is on PC as well and that's another base of players to get whales from.

Isn't Genshin kinda fair as far a gacha games go? I tried it for a bit because of peer pressure but the gameplay didn't do anything for me so I never got to the paywall I assume is further down the road.

None of the gacha games are actually fair, it's gambling and gambling is always going to be bullshit to a large extent.

It's like buying scratch off tickets, there's no game out there for those that give you better chances at actually winning a sustainable amount.

Well yeah, fair isn't the right term, What I meant is they actually let you play the game for a bit before trying to drain money out of your urethra.
It looks like mihoyo knows at least how to do foreplay.

Genshin doesn't require payment at all to get through the game, though the way characters/weapons get empowered by using duplicates encourages whaling and the gacha system makes getting the desired 5* weapons/characters less likely. I wouldn't call the gacha system very good, though they did design the game quite well so that the gacha system isn't actually required to progress.
Genshin requires 160 currency to spin the wheel, and a free to play player will earn 60 per day (ignoring one time events/quests/chests/everything else that gives currency). The character banner is around for about three weeks, and has pity at 90 rolls. BUT, you have a 50-50 chance to get the banner character and if you lose this coinflip you get a standard banner 5* character instead. After a lost coinflip the next character banner 5* you pull will be the event character. Paimon.moe has some breakdowns of the statistics submitted by players, so you can expect to spend usually around 60-75 rolls per character. If we're generous and say a player is lucky and averages 60 rolls per character, that's still over 5 months of dailies for a chance at the event character. Events that provide premium currency and the Abyss cut that down a bit, but not good for free-to-play.

The weapon banner has pity at 80 rolls, but instead has a system where you can choose which weapon you desire. Unfortunately, your choice only matters after you've already pulled two 5* weapons and not gotten what you wanted. At that point, the next 5* will be the desired weapon.

Spiral Abyss may be quite difficult without certain characters, but technically it's optional content so it can be skipped if you don't care that much.

TL;DR - Genshin's gacha is predatory and encourages whaling (and is the worst part of the game), and you should never try to get duplicates for 5* weapons/characters on the same banner because that gets expensive very very quickly and buying premium currency is the least efficient/worst monetary option the game provides.
The only mobile game I have experience with that I'd say has a good gacha system would be Azur Lane as normal gameplay supplies you with enough resources to pull at the gacha and get everything without having to pull out your credit card, plus the rarity rates are much better than that of pretty much every other game. Even for new players, with a bit of time and planning you can build up enough of a stockpile to easily get every event-locked reward and slowly fill out the standard pool without spending a dime, though you will run into the limited inventory eventually (used to not be the case as the devs were quite generous in handing out "we fucked up" premium currency, and they haven't fucked up so much of late).

Diablo Immortal seems to have taken every conceivable payment possibility, shoved it in your face and then cranked the dial up to 12.

Necromancer is the last launch D4 class:

One of the YouTube comments made me chuckle:
"Gender dysphoria and feeling like I didn't know where I fit in made it really difficult to make and keep friends while growing up in Sanctuary. Now I make my own friends..."

We've seen both genders for Barb/Rogue/Necro. IIRC, they said there'd be both genders for all classes, so we've the sorcerER left to see and the female druid. I'd love if the female druid looked cool, but will probably be fat and hairy like a bear even in human form for inclusivity points, like the male druid.

I expect Paladin/Crusader to be their first DLC/xpac class eventually.

I forgot about the stupid paragon board. Can't be modern Bliz without shit systems that make you enjoy the game less. I desperately just want a new and good Diablo... but this will probably suck. I'd love to be proven wrong.

Remember when everyone complained that Diablo 3 looked like shit. The dark gloomy aesthetics of Diablo 2 and was replace with the WOW color scheme. Blizzard said fuck you it fine. Now here we are at Diablo 4 and looks exactly like 2. The fucking backpaddling is amazing.

Also, they mentioned they originally didn't plan Druid, and scrapped another planned class to include it. I bet it was Paladin that was scrapped. Meaning the classes were just gonna be D2's start line-up, with bi-gender Rogue as the melee/range hybrid filling in for Amazon.
I love how Blizzard is both stubborn as hell and so willing to bend over backwards. Its like they're run by bipolar retards.

Its been 10 years since D3, and they've been backpedaling since at least Reaper of Souls. Then with D2R they went "Huh, people really DO like all that stuff they said they like..." and said D4 was gonna try to go back to the roots. I'd rather them admit "Yeah, we messed up with D3." and try to please people than not try to please people. Dont see a reason to complain about that. Whether they'll succeed in pleasing people and do a competent job is a whole other issue though. But at least they're trying to target in the right direction, even if their aim is questionable.

On one hand, basically just using the D2 cast again seems kind of cheap and cowardly/danservicey (WE HEARD YOU LIKED D2), like really no brand new class ideas? But then again, dont fix what isn't broken. I'll take solid classes again over something thats just shit out for the sake of originality, like when fighting games make knockoff replacements to characters just for the sake of having "new" characters. Some of the new mechanics and takes on these old classes are really nice and fresh though. They may technically just be old classes again, but from what I've seen with like the Rogue and Druid they may as well be new classes both in how they play and how they're presented. I like the new Arsenal System mechanics for each class.

I want to know if the Necro can summon both sexes of Skeletons.
