The few times I've bothered watching an asmongold video, he's had this entirely artificial "rehearsed" cluelessness air about him that makes me want to punch him through the screen. Is "deliberately pretending to be retarded" asmongold's schtick or something? Because he's about as good at it as Chris Kattan is at not staring at the camera and not laughing as he bumbles his way through boring, unfunny SNL skits.

Yes, that cluelessness is part of his persona that he plays as on stream, as Asmongold. He has another channel, ZackRawrr, that is his actual, calmer self.

Going back to Diablo Immortal, NetEase's stock has taken a massive hit, as a result of the postponement of DI's launch in China.

Blizzard China has also released an official statement about DI's status:

"Diablo: Immortal"

Delay Announcement 2022-06-19

Dear Adventurers: We are sorry to inform you that the original launch plan of "Diablo: Immortal" on June 23 will be delayed. The development team is making a number of optimization adjustments to the game: support for a wider range of models and devices, the highest quality rendering on more models, a lot of experience, network and performance optimization, and more.

We believe that the game experience in the official online version will become smoother and bring better game content to everyone. In order to thank all adventurers for their patience, we have specially prepared an exclusive thank-you package containing legendary equipment and rich props and materials.

After the official launch of "Diablo: Immortal", all adventurers can receive the above rewards through the in-game mailbox after registering their characters in the game. In addition, we will also add more welfare activities and generous rewards in the game. Thank you for your support and understanding, we are doing our best and look forward to seeing you in Sanctuary soon!

However, there have been rumors that the game was either mass reported to the CCP for the excessive Pay-to-Win pushes in the game, or the CCP did get pissed off about the Winnie the Pooh joke.

Gacha and MTX in general for me have been nothing but taboo ever since growing up in the days of the PSP/PS2/PS1 era. I see no justification for it other than the devs/company making an excuse of not putting a pricetag in their game. Its why I despise gachafags, we can keep tolerating their shit but at some point it will reach critical mass and soon some of our favorite games will have this shit at full-price (Battlefront 2 and Shadow of War anyone?)

Its reddit. They even have their own subreddit for gacha games in general so no shit they want to make it a hugbox.

EDIT: GachaGaming even locked a Diablo: Immortal thread because "it doesn't add more to the discussion".
fucking lol, blizz has been after the secondary market money ever since they cooked up d3, why do you think they had a fucking RMAH in the game (and how did that work out)? to leech of players that botted in d2 and sold shit for hundreds of dollars to retards. gacha is just a business model like everything else. go ahead and tell me people that paid $70+ for cyberpunk 2077 got their moneys worth, or WoW's subscription covers "the game and additional content production".

also the MUH GAMES WILL ALL BE RUINED is fucking retarded. BF2's monetization lead to at least 2 countries outlawing that shit, and hardly anyone ever talked about SoW to begin with (even when they turned shelob into a fucking chick). there are also plenty of games that don't want or need it since there is still a large enough demand for it explicitly shunning certain business models (hence they gonna supply it), and not every studio is a retarded shitshow like dice sweden or run by WB. want a proper battlefront? play angels fall first, there you go. you do care more about the gameplay itself than the brand or production values, right?

That or being a typical chud shitposter and being 'angry' and saying shit sucks, which is his more tolerable persona. Just a reminder, Asmongold has admitted to going weeks at a time without showering.
Well done genius, you sure showed them. I bet their Finance Department are in tears right now.
Yeah, all these streamers trying to highlight the absurdity of all this by forking over thousands of dollars like it does anything but help Blizzard. Very smart.

I think you're looking at the wrong part of the site, it's not on the battle.net desktop app and got pushed to the bottom of the battle.net online listings but you can still find it online here:

https://us.shop.battle.net/en-us/product/diablo-ii?p=463
And Lord of Destruction is here:

https://us.shop.battle.net/en-us/product/diablo-ii-lord-of-destruction
Edit: From what I can tell the D2/LoD downloads do not use the desktop app for online support or antipiracy checks so locally saved versions should be safe for all time.

But where the hell can I find it in my library since I already bought it?

Not too familiar with Battle.net but with the desktop app under "my games" it's nowhere to be seen.

Does Blizzard expect me to buy it again when I already bought it?

(even when they turned shelob into a fucking chick)
Trust me. Shelob being a babe is the least of that game's lore-rape. One of the Ringwraiths in that game is none other than Helm Hammerhand, who happened to be a bit dead at the time the Rings of Power were forged. Nine Eight for mortal men doomed to die, and one more for the already dead guy.

that could be attributed to ignorance or incompetence, shelob now being a woman always felt deliberate for coombait and/or outrage marketing.

It's so disingenuous trying to frame paying thousands of dollars (business expense) to make thousands more from the content produced from these purchases as some kind of moral crusade.

While it was amusing to see how much it cost to get one 5-star gem, and I hope these game practises are banned in my country, fuck off with this crusader bullshit.

So, I bought Diablo 2 & 3 on Xbox thanks to the recent Diablo 4 gameplay trailer making me interested in trying the series out (although I've become wary of that game thanks to the heinous shit they're pulling with Immortal). Is a Necromancer built around Corpse Exploder a good build to start out with, or should I try different classes?

Not gonna get into them right away as I have other things to deal with, so any advice is appreciated.

How does Diablo 2 work with a controller? Does it feel natural or awkward?

I hope they don't fuck Diablo 4 up because it sure LOOKS fucking cool, they really nail the art style there.

I am once again asking if anyone's got a cracked vanilla Diablo 2 because I don't want to pay again for what I already paid for.

Haven't tried it yet, I'm assuming it has to play well enough for them to bother remastering the game for consoles.

From what I gathered, people had more of an issue with the inventory UI than with controlling the game.

Corpse Explosion will carry you through all difficulties in D2. I'm not a fan of playing summoner necros but they are generally pretty safe and hard to die on if you play smart. You could also re-roll to bone spear later if you want as well.

If you are having fun with corpse explosion I would encourage you to stick with it. There is no class that can absolutely shit on the game without gear but there are some classes that stand head and shoulders above the rest without gear. Sorceresses are particularly useful for teleport. Paladins are useful for being able to run anything in the game.

I just realized you are playing the remaster. I'm not sure if this information is dated since the changes they have been making - I disapprove as a player of D2 since release.

I... hadn't heard of that, and I really regret being unable to live life further without such knowledge.
On some levels I'm willing to forgive their playing fast and loose with the lore for the sake of game play, on other levels it's the most retarded shit ever conceived by a human. Just imagine how bad the Amazon series is going to be.

Just started with Diablo 2 as a Necromancer (offline as I'm not sure how the online option fares in comparison), and it's been pretty smooth sailing so far. My skeletons are steamrolling just about everything in their path, but I'm certain the game will get hard at some point. The only trouble I'm having is figuring out where to go as the map doesn't give directions (so far I've been going south east from the Rogue's Camp as that's been where all my quests are, no clue if anything flares out from that direction).

Game controls well with a controller, although inventory management has been a little clunky (what's with the keys?).
