so yeah, i hope the mods lighten up the paladin's skin a little to make it chocolate looking and remove the ape facial features.
also turning the amazon into a woman.
 
I just finished playing through normal, and it was fun to experience the game again with updated graphics but the prospect of going through nightmare and hell then endless baal runs doesn't seem near as exciting as it did 20 years ago. Path of Exile really blows D2 end game out of the water.
 
Twenty years on and Diablo's initial charge still makes me jump out my skin.

I forgot how wonderful it was not to have bosses constantly mouth off as you worked your way towards them.

comparing the two is kind of silly since D2's multiple run is per acts rather than going into a endless mode of sorts.

they only mouth you once per encounter, unlike some other bosses that if you die you'll be mouthed off every goddamn time.

They're both great games, all I was saying is that D2R really shows it's age, PoE really took the genre to the next level. A lot of people feel PoE is the spiritual successor to D2 given how trash D3 was, and how trash D4 is expected to be. You can obviously enjoy both, or neither, whatever you enjoy best.

yeah but it's kind of known that PoE players will usually comment about PoE on any isometric RPG. it's like a rule or something.
 
Been finding lots of minor issues in the remaster. From the game maxing out CPU, RAM, and GPU leading to CTD to in game issues like chests not opening after a boss run, items not dropping from certain things that are supposed to drop
 
Been enjoying it but the constant disconnects on battlenet are insane. Without fail I disconnect at least once a night in my 2 hour play sessions. Wouldnt even think of trying to do a hardcore character with how bad its been.

The amazon looks ugly but then again the graphics look great and there is a refresh button on gambling screen and you can buy multiple copy's of said item on the screen. Cow king can be killed and there is built in stash tabs so muling is not so bad. But yeah lets lament on some insignificant detail. Oh and the anya portal stays permanently.

I just made characters on offline mode. It's not as bad for disconnects (which shouldn't happen for offline mode, but shit coding will do that). At that point it's the launcher that's disconnecting which disconnects the offline game.
 
Been playing a lot of this, just got my wind Druid to Hell and my wife is playing a summon Necro.

This remaster is both amazing and infuriating. The issue is mainly due to the lobbies. See if I get disconnected from a lobby, it is almost impossible to rejoin that same lobby without reloading the game. I don't know if it is due to us being on the same connection, but anytime either of us gets disconnected we know now to just restart the game to fix it. Fucking so annoying.

Other than that I am having a blast. I forgot how much of a slog normal was, but nightmare was really great. Build finally come into their own around that level 30+ mark, and gear starts to actually become more meaningful. Getting SOL runes for various runewords was huge, and every piece of gear got inspected for that coveted +skills.

My wife was hesitant about playing, because she didnt really like the fast pace of D3. She is loving this one and the summon Necro is just her speed, I even caught her googling about the skills on her phone over dinner. I am already planning on my next character to be an Assassin, since I never played that and the Druid when the game came out.
 
Assassin is my jam. Lightning sentries take a while to ramp up, but with a few key bits of gear you'll be laughing.

I've made a mistake rolling her as Hardcore though. I've amassed a silly amount if wealth, loot, gems and runes...but of course only other HC characters will be able to take advantage, lol.

Got a paladin on the go softcore. Never did twig with him back in the day, but I seem to have accidentally developed a FOTM Hammerdin without meaning to, so there's that.
 
I picked it up and have been playing it off and on for the past couple of days. It looks great but I'm not convinced it's worth the money. The only real change I've seen so far beyond the graphics update is to the stash. It's an improvement, sure, but I still feel like I'm playing a game I outgrew 10 years ago.
