With the Necromancer DLC being released for Diablo 3, I think it's time for a thread on that game. We can discuss the game, show off builds and chars, and even organize groups for mutltiplayer. As far as Diablo 3 stuff goes, Have at it here.
 
I got it free when they did that "sign up for WoW for a year and get D3 and a mount free" deal.

I played it some. Seems fun enough.

Day 1 veteran, I lived through the dreaded error 37 and the auction house(thank goodness it's gone.) I was shocked that:
they killed off deckard cain.
 
God this as improved since that horrible launch. I'm actually enjoying the nerco. Still trying to find a good pet master build.

I'm going for a blitz type corpse explosion build for speedfarming.
 
Even speaking as an Elite: Dangerous and Destiny player, i find it to be grindy as fuck. It's also spectacularly hammy; some of the voice work sounds like the ramblings of a hormone-saturated thirteen-year-old edgelord.

However, it is fun for short blasts.
 
Like Left4Dead, It's more fun to play it with 3 friends. Btw, how many of y'all played the original Diablo?
 
I still have the original disc for D1. I play as the warrior and I thoroughly sweep all levels of the dungeon of monsters and I will keep doing that until I got to diablo and all bets are off.
 
Season 11 just started for Diablo 3. I recommend giving the seasonal character thing a try.

@Carolus_Rex Diablo 3 is more of a single player game that other people happen to be around in, you don't need a group.

I might do a seasonal necromancer this season and I hope to get the inarius set.

I remember beating malthael's ass at torment lvl 3, dodging his bullet hell-esque attacks. Challenging but fun.

If anyone wants to play a few rounds, PM me if ya want. But it will have to be on wednesday.
 
So, in dead game news that almost certainly doesn't have anything to do with them botching the Diablo Immortal announcement they recently put a patch for the next Diablo 3 season on the PTR

So what are they doing?
Some Quality of life shit they should have done forever ago, like making Primal Legendaries obviously different from Legendaries.
Greater Rift Keys no longer hog up your inventory

You get a guaranteed Primal Legendary the first time you do a GR 70 in a season
Oh and one other thing...
Buffing the living piss out of most of the 6 set bonuses and many of the 2 set (probably most importantly, Legacy of Nightmares)

As an example, the notes for Witch Doctor:
Witch Doctor
  • Spirit of Arachyr
    • The (6) Set bonus has been increased from 4500% to 9000%
  • Helltooth Harness
    • The (2) Set bonus has been increased from 1500% to 3000%
    • The (6) Set bonus has been increased from 4400% to 9000%
  • Raiment of the Jade Harvester
    • The (2) Set bonus has been increased from 560 seconds to 3500 seconds
    • The (6) Set bonus has been increased from 1650 seconds to 10000 seconds
  • Zunimassa's Haunt
    • The (6) Set bonus has been increased from 5500% to 15000%

Also, the new season brawl buff thing gives you a free Ring of Royal Grandeur effect that does not stack with any other source of the effect of course. Anyways, I probably will play because the RoRG effect will making building sets mildly fun for 2-3 minutes and it's not like I'm paying for anything.
 
I've always felt conflicted about Diablo 3 on one hand the gameplay was fun and it was overall a good game but it never really caught the bleak low tech gothic rpg horror of the first two games. The feelings of dread, creeping pace and desolation subtly creating an experiance that made the player feel deeply vulnrable .

In contrast in diablo 3 you play an anime character in a high fantasy setting whose battles often feel like chore as you disintegrate anything which comes near you.

stat inflation, probably to stimulate artificial progress on rifts. GR40 used to be tough, then 60, then 70. Right now 70 is the cut-off between shitters and mildly active players and 102s are like .02% of the top players, with stat buffs like this 120 rifts will probably become a thing, and shitters will be reaching 90.
