Very happy to see this thread out of PG! I think I mentioned on one of the “YouTubers teetering on the edge of lolcowdom” threads that I got red flags from over 2 years ago. He made a silly but harmless video of him reacting to law/lawyer scenes in Spongebob Squarepants. What really stood out to me was that at least twice he emphasized that he passed the bar exam in “both California and New York”. Passing the bar in one state is hard enough and time-consuming, but TWO? It seemed odd he was going full-time into YouTube instead of using these supposedly two passed bar exams as an actual practicing lawyer. The heavy emphasis on this unnecessary achievement also felt like bragging in order to grift.

Seeing YT really push his content while he slid head-first into anti-Trump and general woke/SJW mooing kind of sealed his status as a lolcow for me and I’m happy to see more skeletons are being found in his many closets.

Can't believe I didn't notice that, but now onto some more interesting then a coked up pillow maker.

His Wiki page(Archive) is the same thing. There's no record online of his family, or any cases he's worked on outside of a few on Leagle (can't archive any of them because of an annoying pop up) but he only has dismissals and one loss that resulted in his client paying out a sum just over $1.25m. Which makes me ask, just who/what is this guy that he's apparently an amazing lawyer but all of his profiles across the internet just surround his Youtube channel? Even his Instagram has little to do with his personal life and is mainly just short videos about legal stuff.

Outside of his tutor scamming website and his professional website that tells people very little about him, he apparently has a third website that, once again, pushes his public speaking gigs and youtube crap. I referred to him as a shyster just using his education to push his youtube channel, but I was apparently more than correct because his Georgetown Law page is just more of the same spiel. Like his main profile has been copy and pasted into any page about him like some kind of bizarre social prank. The only thing about him that isn't weird is his IMDB page, which I guess is saying a lot, but he does have a connection to Lindsay Ellis.

But now here is where we enter a sudden shift in information about him. His Apollo.io page is obviously his because of the work history and his title "The Big Bird", but the Apollo.io page for his "LegalEagle" business has a website and geographical information for Australia which he has no legal status connected to unless the people there are legally allowed to practice law there, but it doesn't make sense because the main website for that business is dead and tied to a retired business venture, also involved in law.

Now you would think this whole thing is weird, a lawyer with an identity that's only tied to his youtube channel and a few sparse websites with the same bio copy and pasted to each one, and an Australian business tied to his online persona with little mention to his real life outside of a few instagram posts and nothing about his wife who apparently works in Hollywood. But I can assure you, it took a turn through the Twilight Zone. His business page, which we know is his because of the name, email, and website all being tied to him because of the picture and LegalEagle being slapped everywhere, leads to an address to a Condo that's listed as being permanently closed.

I'm getting the feeling the guy was a bad lawyer and took to youtube to venture into an untapped market for youtube lawyers who actually completed law school.

I would say that’s a coincidence but it would be a hell of a coincidence that some guy also named Devin Stone worked at a place called LegalEagle. Everything else indicates it is not him, so I do not know for sure, but it just seems a little bit “sussy” as the kids these days say.

I did agree with you at first, but his Linkedin account has him listed as "The Big Bird" at LegalEagle, and they both have the same work history working at the same places. The chances of two Devin James Stone having the same birthday, education, work history, and job title has me thinking otherwise. The only other explanation is that somebody is/was using his identity.

Good point, it really does seem that these 2 Devin Stones are the same person. So LegalEagle, despite living in Washington DC pretty much all of his career and not having any evidence of a license to practice in either country, has an Australian business based in Wales. I guess the next question is this: what does this mean? Is he running some sort of scam, like I think he’s doing with the whole LegalEaglePrep thing?

Also, if he lived in DC for pretty much his entire law career, why did he take the bar exam in CA and NY? If you are going to work law in DC, are there more local bar exams to pass? This is starting to make even less sense.

It's not unusual for a Lawyer to take and pass the BAR exam in a few other states, most would rather have the cases come to them though. The most unusual part about it is that he's taken the BAR in multiple states and has little to show for it. The only court cases I could find from him were from his days with Barnes and Thornburg, and he has actually spent very little time living outside of Washington DC which strikes me as so weird.

Another weird thing is his wife, apparently she doesn't work in Hollywood (I misread the tweet he had posted), and while they lived together for at least four years, she seems to use her last name and the title Ms, even the CoO I have has them with different last names despite going through the rental process together. Seems like his current career is just that, a scam. The phone number on his legal website leads to a dead page with the address "Contact Harris."

Good news is if he did ever sue Kiwifarms, it probably wouldn't be hard to beat him in court.

This popped up in my Twitter timeline today, it seems now he is ripping off pewdiepie now too.



I like the extreme caution over pewdiepie’s trademark and then he immediately steals a meme and gives no credit to its creator. Speaking of pewdiepie, isn’t he a terrible bad nazi? For shame Devin, why would you pay homage to this terrible terrible man!

He was oddly quiet about Rittenhouse in a way that surprised alot of people, ie they expected him to rant on twitter about it. Some people thought he maybe agreed Kyle had a right to self defense (lol come on guys, you see this dumbass's record?) and thats why he wasnt saying anything.

LegalEagle takes a neutral stand to analyze the situation regarding the shooting.
I am glad that he didn't sperg out and the fact that he took all factors into consideration.
I do like where he says that Kyle basically brought gasoline to a match party and people are dead as a result.
Nobody was in the right during that night and everybody was in the wrong for even being there.

I don't. From a legal standpoint it's completely irrelevant. Nobody is denying that he went out of his way to put himself in that situation, but once he was in that situation he had the right to defend himself. It's not against the law to put yourself in danger, and trying to argue that self-defence doesn't apply if it was the defendant's fault he was in danger is a terrible precedent to set. The reality was that he was in danger when he fired the shots, how he ended up in that danger ultimately doesn't matter.

Also, I notice this "he shouldn't have been there" argument isn't also applied to the rioters who were burning the fucking city down. Because those people were totally where they should be, right?
