The headline is clickbait, they even say in the article that Ninja Theory’s MS buyout makes the chances super slim. All Itsuno and Walker said was that they’d like to see a DmC2, but would want Tameem to do it.
Is that so they have something to say for those upset about DMC 5, "Aren't you glad DMC 5 isn't that?"

Itsuno liked DmC, he just opted to make DMC5 because NT was busy with Hellblade and DmC2 will probably never happen now thanks to the MS buyout.

Remove him. Remove him and castrate him.
Tbh, DmC’s gameplay was decent (perhaps even good with the PS4 port’s enhancements), the main issue lied in the heinously anus aesthetics and writing. Also, even though he was busy with Dragon’s Dogma during the development of DmC, Itsuno still had a producer credit on it

All the more reason they should just have them consult on gameplay over having a sequel to one of the most poorly received off shoots. It was one of the first moments game journos realized the audience hates them since they went all in on it and the audience were like, "Nah, bruh. This ain't shit." The fact it was a game journo asking about it when it's only remembered in hatred doesn't surprise me. Besides that the gameplay was just mediocre as is most anything Ninja Theory makes.

I am, however, disappointed in Itsuno and Walker wanting another sequel. Ninja Theory went out of its way to shit on the fanbase.

Tbf, Itsuno was probably never there for most of the journo shitflinging and just liked the artstyle and gameplay of DmC. You gotta remember that prior to like 2015, Jap devs gave few fucks about western Journos. Besides, despite his enjoyment of DmC, Itsuno still comes across as a pretty humble guy and you can tell that he was going out of his way to give DMC4 the sequel it deserved with DMC5, even going as far as to reference supplementary material characters like Morrison and Goldstein

Then what's Walker's excuse? Hrmmm?

here’s a german man who flings poopoo like an autistic chimpanzee whenever people say they’re okay with DMC5 being less deep than DMC4. Seriously, the DMC fanbase (both the extreme lovers and extreme haters of DMC5) are turbospergs
How’s it even less deep, really? Because guard flying and distortion are gone? Both of those were bugs that they never bothered fixing because the DBZ flying shit was hilarious and he kind of ended up needing DRI to deal with some enemies. Dante has more weapons than ever, and all of them have highly detailed movesets compared to all the previous games. Nero has a fully integrated and expanded moveset that addresses almost every shortcoming he had in 4. V is kinda limited and spammy, but that because it’s a new character type just like Nero was in 4. The bosses are straigh up better too, and half the mobs in 4 were overdesigned and stupid. The chimeras sucked every kind of dick, the Blitzes took too long unless you wanted to cheese the fuck out of them, and the flying swords and fish could be removed from that game and it’d be better for it.
Edit: Also, blew up phase 2 Urizen in BP in 36 seconds with Sin DT and a well-timed royal release; only to choke on Vergil near the end of the fight.

The DMC fanbase is general is autistic, it’s either autists reeeeing about DMC5 not being deep enough or autists reeeeing about they should just be thankful and kissing Itsuno’s feet because they got this and not DmC2, just play the fucking game niggers, all this drama you’re stirring up just makes you look autistic.

Why only the first game? I really hope the other two (or lets be honest here, just Dante’s Awakening) get released
Could be testing the waters. Maybe they're breaking up the trilogy pack just so people don't even have to look at DMC2

It is very intellectual. Very deep. It asks the questions we're all afraid to ask, to face the demons within ourselves and evolve as a people.
Vergil's choice to separate the human and demon sides from each other symbolizes the duality of man, and how we can't exist as singular beings. To remove what we deem as weak will not make us any stronger. Dante and Nero meanwhile show why accepting our duality makes us stronger as people.

This started out as a joke, but it does actually apply to the series if you think too long about it.
