Highly likely, because both dante and vergil are both still alive.
I would rather have a new character or a game that focuses on lady and trish looking for dante in hell because they need his signature for the shop or something.

I have a feeling Dante and Vergil will be back for two reasons. Firstly, Dante's been trapped in the demon world before. As much as the games like to ignore it, that was the ending of 2 as well and that prequel novel explained how Dante got out. Secondly, there was that little sequel bait bit where Vergil gives Nero the book and says he won't lose next time. They'd have to pay it off eventually.

If/when we do get Devil May Cry 6, I'd like them to do the three-character campaign like in 5, but instead of V we have Vergil so the campaign remains consistently fun. Also I'd like to see Mundus return. He never really died to begin with and 4 had that Easter egg saying "Mundus lives."

Having had Nero's theme song stuck in my head I had some fun with it. I present my opus:

All of this pasta inside of my pants
Escaping my pockets 'til the pavement is red

Late on this, but I think if Dante and Vergil are going to be back I don't think they'll be main characters. My money is on Nero and probably Trish and maybe some newcomer. D&V I'm betting will be bosses that fight you because they want to test how powerful you are.

mod came out today that gives Dante access to Dark Slayer moveset over Sparda sword. going to try it later tonight, because dante clearly needed more moves.

update: dark slayer mod is really cool but it seems to have a low chance to hard freeze ya game, so be mindful.

Weird question, anyone here interested in Kyrie given a bigger role in the future of the franchise? I just think it makes sense of the future is going to focus on Nero and I’ve seen some fics where she at least provides emotional support, and if anything, the thought of Kyrie fighting demons in the DMC style (or at least trying to) with a frying pan, a rolling pin, or a classic 12 gauge fueled only by the desire to save the kids in her care seems pretty interesting (and kind of funny). If anything, it’ll allow here to be more than the damsel she was in 4. And I still don’t think she’s learned that Nero is the grandson of the lord she spent most of her life worshipping.

Given that she was the cantor I'd love to have her wield the power of music to defeat her demonic foes. An angelic version of Nevan or some other instrument and some Latin vocals over metal/classical like in One Winged Angel or techno like with the end parts of Ode to Greed from Payday 2.
Obviously the lyrics would need to change, but I think you get what I'm saying.

if anyone cares, new Cheat Collab update came out today that allows you to replace enemy spawns and fuck with the rate at which they spawn.

meaning, you don't like Hell Caina? Okay, use the drop down menu, now all Hell Caina are Hell Antenora's.

This is pretty good, but the most interesting thing for me is the ability to fuck with the rate they spawn, you can set the lil spawn points to do normal spawns, or double, or triple. So instead of getting 1 Hell Caina we can have 2 or 3 out of a single spawn point. Now this might sound like just a ghetto mans LDK until you realize one very important detail. It works on bosses.

spent part of today fighting two Goliath's on DMD with Dante, was really god damn fun. Also fighting two Cavo Angelo's is really really really fucking difficult.

I got DMC5 the other day despite not being a fan nor a fan of games like this.
I'm actually having a lot of fun.
May get me to try the other games in the series despite me being a baby gamer who doesn't like hard things.

Get the HD Collection, play 1 (holds up well), skip 2, enjoy 3, and play 4SE on a harder difficulty than you usually would because it's an easy game.

Is there seriously no upgrade path for DMCV to the next gen edition? I've been playing through all the games except 2 because fuck 2 and I wanted to check out Legendary Dark Knight and Vergil in V but they want me to buy the whole game again? Fuck off.

If you are on a PS4 you can buy Vergils campaign for like 5 bucks. PS5 has all of the things you listed, plus raytracing, but you'll need to buy the game all over again.

Or you could play PC and download the cheat engine, which has access to both through dlc and cheat trainers to mod the fuck out of it.

They could probably incorporate her into DMC with something similar to V's playstyle by having summons, but outside of a bonus mode à la the Tofu mode in RE2. I do like the idea of her using kitchen utensils to beat demons into submission.

Interestingly, the ordinal vision for DMC4 had Kyrie end up as the main villain in a mid game twist and Nero's love interest being Gloria, who was her own character.

What I really want to see from DMC 6 is better environments and levels.

Come on, everyone knows the staples of DMC are shitty platforming circa 2001 level design.

As for a sequel, I think we’ll get something like 4 since Nero is more established. Maybe Capcom will catch up to the fanfiction writers and talk about his mom.

Orihime would be proud of summons. Also, nice to know I’m not alone in my mundane weapons idea.

I think at some point, assuming the franchise doesn't die, that the main character will wind up with Dante and Virgil Devil Arms. Maybe Nero's sword will become a Devil Arm the main character can get too.

I'd like to see Lucia come back, she was pretty cool.

DMC2 is good, nobody should skip it. Obviously a step down from DMC1, especially in enemy design and story structure, but it's still fun and looks good.

I'm alone in this, but I liked it more than DMC3. Dante is too wacky, less cool, and it seems they jacked the difficulty up.

DMC 3 does owe a lot more to DMC 2's mechanics than people give credit for. That game effectively has Trickster style mapped to the circle button, can see life bars on locked-on enemies, and can switch firearms instead of going into the menu. It's lacking when it comes to foley, feeling like weapons have impact, and enemy design, which DMC 3 fixed.
