Reading from comments on the post, it seems that cheaters managed to figure out how to dupe the server into spamming out XP drops at a rapid pace for everyone in an instance, and they'd load into the Tower and fire away. Apparently it was so fast that you could have your entire mailbox filled with bright engrams in only a few moments. Not the most harmful exploit because free cosmetics, but it could and obviously was being used maliciously. In the best case, they were wiping out people's mail before they could properly go through and sort it out themselves; in the worst, they were actively trying to get other players banned for cheating.

One good thing about Bungie's policies is that they have taken a stance since nearly the beginning of the game's history that players aren't banned for taking advantage of unintentional fuckups on their part, only actual cheating. Given their wording, it seems they were able to sort out which accounts were actually using the exploit and can deal with them appropriately, and anyone else who had nothing to do with it will be fine.

No, but I cried later in the Tower when Zavala, Ikora and Mara spoke to me very emotionally and seriously about it, taking dramatic pauses between each sentence and carefully making sure every fucking word they used to describe the aforementioned retarded gay robot sex was delivered with maximum weight and importance. Then they gave me a mid roll of Truthteller. I felt rewarded, not only with loot, but also with heartfelt human connection and hope.

After I finished crying I looked up all the woman&homo writers at Bungie on Bluesky and thanked them all for making my life worth living. I'm still waiting for one of them to like my thank you-post. Whoever it is will get a funny Telesto meme that I made myself

Funny fact that Osiris's VA is a Jewish. Aren't progressives like Bungie care about casting right race? To be fair I am not sure what Osiris supposed to be but since he has a Egyptian theme than not likely to be a Jewish.

I guess he played Egyptian in the Mummy, so he has a pass:

Bungie in the D2 era was just casting Hollywood people. They had the girl from Dragon Ball Evolution playing Ana Bray for Warmind just to replace her later on.

As always, the cheat that actually helps people gets patched immediately.

@Blackstar Holiday's death was supposed to be sad, but I was just angry. The only non-Guardian human in the story with some prominence, and they decided to kill her off for cheap shock value. That's how you know Bungie can't write for shit: The only thing they can think to do with a character is turn them good if they're a bad guy or kill them if they're already a hero. Osiris/Sagira was a two for one because by killing Sagira they destroyed everything that was cool about Osiris and made him a gay old science man.

I was going to try making a witty comment on this, but this reminded me I never really got to do raids in D1.

Me and some friends were told another friend was going to do the Oryx raid, but failed to prep us in anyway and tagged us in at the final part when we weren't even a little ready.
