thats another main issue, the few people who actually communicate in the game are 12 year olds who start screaming when there is 1 wipe in a raid, I think this is partially the reason for them starting to casualize the game more over the past year, also they realized the majority of the playerbase is fucking retarded and have no skill mechanically. when 90% of the community hasn't cleared a raid you get the other 10% being total dicks
Would explain why the majority of pvp players felt compelled to actually cheat and teleport around the map with aimbots. And their kneejerk reaction is to gaslight you about there even being cheaters in the first place and banning you for "witchhunting" when you get a popup saying "thanks for reporting these retards, we banned their ass for you!" upon the first login every week

Its strange because no other video game community acts this way around the cheating issue. Just Destiny. Where its treated like trying to take down a digital mafia just for pointing out bullshit you encountered while playing. Guess those multi million dollar lawsuits weren't for nothing. Definitely some kind of conspiracy rabbithole going on there.

You also know its bad when even the likes of bungie has to disable "death by fall damage" because of retards griefing teammates by slamming them into walls with eager edge swords at every opportunity. What other game has had to do that? This playerbase is absolutely psychotic with the streamers bungo catered to jumping ship to other games anyway.

Raid exotics should all be tied to quests. Back when Vog was added to D2, it took me almost 60 runs to get the Mythoclast. I had like four different flavors of godrolled timelost fatebringer before that bastard dropped. The Outbreak Prime quest should have been the baseline for raid exotic acquisition in D2.
Comments like this make me wonder if some of you even want to actually play a looty game.

Yes, I do agree 60 runs is excessive (I got mine somewhere around 40) ,but making everything a quest takes the point out of even playing these games because there would be no chase.

Using your example of outbreak prime I did the wotm raid a grand total of... 2 times because there was entirely no reason to bother doing it after I got outbreak prime.

Do you not enjoy aspects of the game outside of the loot treadmill or is that all you're there for?

If you don't enjoy that aspect of the game you shouldn't be playing it.
I think your making a good point about some quests but relying solely on RNG dopamine hits isn’t a good thing for a game, a lot of people violently bitched about Bungie removing crafting but I was good with it because the perk pool on seasonal weapons is small enough that you generally will come across the god roll within the season and you can now enhance perks on most weapons, Tonics were horrible but RNG is fine when limited

Didnt mind being able to finally enhance loot with perk rolls you wanted, but it should have been an alternative and complementary to crafting. Instead of replacing it.

If your game isn't worth playing without a skinner box accompanying it, then its not worth playing period.

I will say Bungies RNG for drops on raids is not so random.
All the no life 24x7 destiny players in the clan I was in at the time would be grinding the raids all the time to get whatever drops. I would usually get the legendary drop on my second or 3rd raid. There was one raid where i think the guy was on his near 100th and it was my second. I got it, he didn't. I think bungie monitors how much you play and if you're casual, they'll give you a more favorable exotic drop rates on raids.

I got a thousand voices first try lolololol

The problem with loot now is that, the game has yet to release any new loot. There has not been a new weapon model since Ghosts of the Deep, which was almost 2 years ago. I've never felt so unengaged to farm for weapons sets more than this year, Crafting has been a solid band aid, because i wouldn't have even bothered playing the the gay homoerotic fanfic narratives they push out if they didnt it. Most Seasonal weapons are mid, raid and dungeon weapons have been reskins for years.

Its really hard to care about something when the first thing u see is that "oh yea thats hammerhead, oh yeah thats brass attacks etc" instead of the perks, it feels like ass. The new exotic SMG upgrades, for example requires you to max out the vendor. Is it a grind game? Yes I understand, but at the same time, grinding from SK-WQ was far less painful because it looked liked u were actually getting new shit on the way. I like playing the game, i think the raid and dungeon mechanics are really fun with friends, but we've unanimously make an effort to play the seasonal slop as little as possible.

This is bungie's fault though no? They make raids utterly unrewarding (have to clear them 20+ times to get their exotic) and make the rest of the game baby goo goo gaa gaa easy. Anything outside GM nightfalls you can clear with your eyes closed.
Bungie refused to establish a skill floor while still designing around raids and the result is that most of the players can't do them.
I think that is actually good. Another problem with bungie raids and dungeons is that they are obscure as fuck and without a youtube guide you will never have a chance of finishing them.
Adding a tutorial mode so you can actually learn them in a stress free enviroment before you try them for real is the best thing they ahve ever done to introduce more people to raids and dungeons, and if they can add this system to old raids and dungeons too it will be the best thing they've ever done for the community.
i member mentioning that on steam discussions once with other people that had trouble finding groups for raiding and people were just shidding, farting and seething over the fact that adding a fucking matchmaker wouldn't hurt raiding at all because premade faggots would premade anyway, allowing randoms to fuck up more and learn with their fails but nah "raids take too long n' shieet and people need sherpas".
good fucking riddance, i still won't bother to check this game because of my sunsetted weapons and fuck iron banner fans with a rusty spiked club, pvp was always shit but making people die with two shots or take a entire lmg clip to the face and still be alive because gay light levels is beyond retarded.

to be fair there are so many raids in the game that LFG is basically a crap shoot because people only want to do the newest raid, even the two weekly featured ones are difficult to find groups for so even people willing to learn just give up on trying because no one joins their groups, the new raid coming in The Edge of Fate is probably going to be an afterthought all things considered, wouldn't suprise me if they learn more into matchmade combatslop activities like Strikes and Onslaught as well the roguelite stuff theyve been doing lately, i firmly believe they are moving away from the forced socialization stuff because most of their remaining auidence are Casual Orlandos and they need to appease them in order to keep them in

If they had to do it all again, Bungo would probably cut raiding entirely, citing something like how it promotes antisocial behavior. The metrics wouldn't really matter because the whales would still buy silver.
There's an opportunity for someone to make a game that's mostly Destiny style raiding. I was hoping that Witchfire would go in that direction even though it's a single player title but after the last update I don't think that's happening.

Iron banner literally exists to bribe new players into becoming fodder for veterans to shitstomp.

Iron banner rewards high light level items. Who needs them? New players who have low light level and no way to fight back in any capacity in iron banner.

Who DOESN'T need them? Veterans who are already maxed and have high light level that lets them shitstomp low level lights.

Iron banner is actually grotesque.

PvP is actually one of the worst fucking things about the game, literal CoD and Halo rejects farming bad players acting like their the greatest niggas to ever play it, Iron Banner is just an extension of that. and other then the light level the loot is pretty much the same or worse as the normal crucible weapon pool

Bungie's getting sued for copyright over a claim that they stole stuff for Red War and Curse of Osiris from an unpublished sci-fi novel. They tried using YouTube and Destinypedia content of it in a filing to dismiss the suit since you know, that shit got sunset and they can't access it but the judge refused to take 3rd party content into evidence since the claim didn't use any. :story:

They tried using YouTube and Destinypedia content of it in a filing to dismiss the suit since you know, that shit got sunset and they can't access it but the judge refused to take 3rd party content into evidence since the claim didn't use any. :story:

“Bungie archived the original code that comprised the ‘Red War’ and ‘Curse of Osiris’ campaigns (known as ‘legacy builds’),” game director Tyson Green’s declaration reads. “However, the ‘Red War’ and ‘Curse of Osiris’ legacy builds can no longer run because their outdated code is incompatible with Destiny 2’s underlying operational framework, which has evolved considerably since the ‘Red War’ and ‘Curse of Osiris’ campaigns were retired.”

“As a result, Bungie cannot feasibly provide the Court with the original Destiny 2 game as it existed in 2017, including the accused ‘Red War’ and ‘Curse of Osiris’ campaigns, in any operable or reviewable form. Nor will Bungie be able to produce the accused campaigns in operable or reviewable form if this matter proceeds to formal discovery.”

So Bungie is incompetent and is unable to even run the version of Destiny 2 that had the original campaign and curse of osiris :story:.
It is strange that the guy waited 7 or so years to sue, but if he wins or settles because Bungie is unable to provide the original build, that would be the best outcome. Bungie deserves no less for removing the content people paid for.

The only explanation that makes sense for them being unable to run it is that they didn't bother storing older engine builds and now they reap what they sowed. Suffah, Bungie!
