Yeah, I consider the cafe as doing the neighborhood a service. Yet those ungrateful twats are always spitting in the face of what could potentially improve the neighborhood. Granted, there's always going to be a drawback to any of those plans, but the potential improvements could be worth it in the long run. It's ironic that progressives like them want change, yet are afraid of it when it comes to this.
MAybe because it shaves off some oppression points if the places they lived got a little nicer.

I'm worried some wackjob's going to go into that cafe and hurt the cats.

The Texas Rangers should arrest their asses. I'd like to see the look on their faces.
Edit:Or raid their compound Waco style.

I know these types. These anarchist crackers just want to keep their rent down so they actively protest anything that improves the quality of life of the rest of the community.

We had these people here, in Vancouver, once protesting one business owner who opened up a relatively well-off restaurant in a very poor, drug-effected area of town. He hired local people and supported local charities. At worst, I think it was a bad business decision to open up there, but that's his call.

All of a sudden a swarm of college students who don't live in the area show up claiming to represent the community and calling for his death for gentrification.

Not even the most left-wing commenter was supportive of this assholes.

Someday I will figure out why the same people screeching about gentrification are also the ones reeeeeing about food deserts.
