Defend Our Hoodz is a Facebook group fighting to end the "gentrification" of East Austin. So, keeping the quality of life and economic status of the neighborhood is a good thing now? To them, it seems to be the case. Their latest antic is a campaign against Blue Cat Cafe.
The Blue Cat Cafe, A coffee shop that is doubling as a cat shelter was built on a plot of land where a pinyata shop used to be. Some people, including DOH took issue with the business, claiming the land was stolen, but the original owners lost the land after not paying the rent and moved to a location not far from the old one. They protested by spray painting stuff like "Fuck you gentrification scum." and gluing the locks of the cafe, trapping 200 animals in the building, even sending death threats and cyberbullying the owners. It's fucked up.

After the story got traction, InfoWars reported on it and DOH responded with this.
Yeah, when the cops politely tell you to calm down, I guess that's justification to call them 'murderers' and 'racists'

To the point, They're a group of socialist SJWs that want to keep East Austin poor in the name of equality and social justice and not let anyone change anything about it.

These fucking Scum leftists just cant live peacefully, I havent forgotten the Dallas shooting, and I haven't forgotten the Molotov in NC, these fuckers are getting radical. If Trump wins they are gonna riot just watch.

The Dallas shooter was a schizoid ex soldier. These whitebread hipsters won't do anything but rant on social media and wave around their gay little signs.
 
I know these types. These anarchist crackers just want to keep their rent down so they actively protest anything that improves the quality of life of the rest of the community.

Okay, here's the deeper scoop:
A couple of land management companies have been trying to pay out to have people removed from the area so they can put up cheap, overpriced but modernized condominium spaces to replace the crumbling projects near ACC Eastview. Rents have been steadily rising and waves of old nail-folk have been leaving in exodus in the face of poor, hastily improved specifications in public housing to match city building codes.

However, the city decided to turn over that land to the HACA, privatizing the public housing and making the situation worse for the handicapped and the poorly educated ethnic minorities who live there, who face increasing trouble finding jobs. Of course, hipsters have co-opted this to start shit and keep their rents down, but the actual situation makes sense.
