A surprise patch today (possibly in preparation for something), and it looks like they finally patched the Core Stone exploit with the gunner's shield.
Shame, showing greenbeards (and some greybeards, too) this little trick and seeing their reactions was priceless and probably the best memory of mine this season. But I understand this decision from a game dev standpoint.
Honestly, I liked the meteor event from S4. Pretty vanilla, unlike the core stone, the meteor could change the map a bit and make it more interesting, even just the sound of it coming down was nice to hear. Meanwhile, core stone event is usually just getting one zipline above it and having driller throwing down c4 while the other 3 shoot it when it's vulnerable, or reviving retards that stand in place and die 3 times during the event. Sometimes I just give up, hop on the zipline by myself and finish the event solo instead of reviving people.

Man there was a DRG thread and never noticed.

I come to you all to say, fuck the leaf lovers that are low level and want to do H5 then die and complain, rage quit and/or ban you for telling them that they are low level and we cant be babysitting you all mission. That aside idk if its just me but players that i played with have been pretty dumb in general in this season.

Rock and Stone!

GSG decided to sell cheap plastic mugs based on the ones in the Abyss bar that cost almost 60 USD each (before shipping) that probably cost cents in raw materials. But people still funded it anyways. I will never not be surprised at the consoomer's willingness to constantly buy plastic in the shape of video game objects. Even Reddit is torn on whether its worth it, or a big scam by GSG or the company manufacturing the mugs.

The prevailing theory is designers that got overzealous without thinking of the manufacturing costs and logistics of creating the overcomplicated mugs design that have multiple interchangeable pieces depending on the many different variants they offer that need to be hand assembled. It feels more akin to the process of manufacturing a toy than a simple drinking vessel. Now they're deep in the sunk cost fallacy and need to sell their poor choices to the public to recoup costs on the manpower spent designing this overengineered monstrosity.

Literally anything but actually making new DRG content. I don't understand how anybody can still defend these devs being enormous kikes. I honestly have been pissed off at GSG since they put DRG on the back burner for their shitty DRG PvE Rougelike hero shooter or whatever the fuck Rogue Core is going to be. They killed their big ticket item because they got bored and could afford to double dip their immensely popular game to bilk more money out of the players, and I'm tired of pretending these faggots are doing anything else. They could have stayed the course and made DRG better than it already was, but they decided to let it wither away so they can make more money doing something else with the promise that they will get back to it eventually, which just doesn't fucking happen.

It genuinely feels like they're trying to turn DRG into a full blown media franchise. I reckon the Netflix animated show is coming next. Zoomers will be buying Rock and Stone tshirts at Hot Topic mark my words.

It is obviously. DRG Survivor, DRG Rogue Core, plastic cups, the board game and CEO Søren Lundgaard said that they were approached for a TV show but if they do it, they want total control over it and not just license it out, i guess to prevent any woke shit, because so far, the game is free of all that crap.
That being said, as a long-time DRG player i have to say i got more and more disappointed. The player base has become completely retarded. even the most obvious things are too difficult to graps, like drilling down a hacking station so it lands next to the data deposit, no, they rather fuck around with drilling and platforms to get the nods connected down. yesterday there was a room full of snipers and turrets and the gunner just wouldn't deploy his fucking shield, until i sarcastically told him not to deploy it because it would make things too easy.
Also the total autism in all those faggots who insist on doing everything. all the shit machine events (boring as fuck and a total waste of time once you got all the items), wasting hours looking for those event trophies, collecting every tiny drop of gold because muh, xp. They die 20 times on a Haz 4 mission like the unskilled zoomer losers they are and still insist on doing a core stone (worst shit ever made, it's so hilariously broken, even after the nerf pretty much the only way to do it is by dangling on ziplines like a demented money) and then fail the mission and rage quit. Experiences like this makes me wish the last 2 generations of idiots, russians and chinks with their 300+ vpn ping wouldn't exist or would get their own idiocracy servers where they can drool over their keyboards while looking at the xp counter, while the more intelligent, rational and able to think generations before can play in peace. Because you can always tell if somebody is below 30 and/or a demented console peasant or a russian or a chink just by how much they suck at a simple game.

The player of the month features furfags and some goblin degenerates all the time. Aaron is a leftist. Jenny honestly might be a trannie. Lot's of trannies seem to work for them in one way or another, looking at their discord. Not to mention the fanbase itself lmao. Woke DRG movie could be pretty successful.
total waste of time once you got all the items
I guess they don't have all the items then?

Yeah, the DRG discord is like the Caves of Qud one and many others, a sanctuary for trannies and other freaks where they have special status - but jokes about French or English are alright, that's safe edgy and you can't be racist against white people chud. Remember when someone posted on reddit how someone kicked him from a session because of pronouns? Because I remember. That got like a few thousand updoots lmao. Thankfully you can't really get banned when you rely on p2p connection, so in-game you're pretty safe and free to do/say whatever you want.

I find this game disorienting as fuck.
Well, you were born a human and not a moleman. Good news though, after getting lost during extraction enough times, you start develop your mole sense. Your brain will adapt and you will immediately, and instinctively know the correct direction to travel.

In mining missions as driller, if you leave yourself a waypoint on the floor of the room you think the drop pod will land, you can just point yourself at it when you are at the bottom of the mine, and start drilling, no need to pull out your map and ponder.

Many a rock and stone to the dwarves who stick around after losing a haz4 run after 20 minutes of playing! Just like at the Abyss bar - another round please!

I guess Survivor doesn't have its own thread, I also found out GSG are making an FPS roguelite spinoff of base DRG. It being a 1-4 player coop makes me worried that they're aiming for the FOTM streamer friendslop shit. I don't even know how would you balance a 4 player roguelite coop. I know Isaac did it and it wasn't exactly a smash hit.

Anyway, bought Survivor last weekend. I've been made aware of it quite some time ago through Vincent Sauce, and I really wasn't impressed (mostly becaue Vinny sucks at games that aren't Nintendoslop), and ironically what won me over was a review that said the game was too hard and grindy. Installed it, died twice as Scout on stage 5 (no HP regen and no piercing/aoe does that do a dwarf), unlocked the Gunner, completed the dive thanks to like 60 armor, unlocked Engie, steamrolled a biome, unlocked Driller, steamrolled another. I've been having a shitload of fun, Survivor scratches basically all the itches left by DRG while cutting down on the frustrating elements of it, i.e. not having to babysit 3 other retards, yelling at the Scout who doesn't use his fucking flares, Gunner who forgets that he has a shield, Engie not plugging holes with platforms, falling to your death through a needle-sized hole or hardly any nitra spawning throughout the whole mission/dive.
A lot of quirks DRG had carried over. Scout is super weak and basically fucking useless, Gunner is a step up from him, Engie and Driller are absolute killing machines. The Subata is still the worst weapon in the game, to the point where if you're using the Driller loadout that starts with it, your best bet is just to ignore it completely in favor of literally any other upgrade on level up.
The only gripe I have is secondary objective resources being too scarce and the minimap being too small. I've often found myself being 80% done with the boss only to notice that I left the secondary basically untouched. They might need to revamp the reward to make it actually enticing, since at the moment it's just a bit of XP and gold.
It's on sale for $9 right now. If you like either DRG or Vampire Survivors, get it.

DRG Survivor is pretty good. I have been enjoying the 1.0 release.

I got humbled yesterday trying to complete the Flamethrower mastery, holy shit. I don't know if last stage on that always spawns twins but it absolutely ravaged me. I was like 7 enemy level ups in and they still had around 50% HP each and the game was starting to chug under all that shit on the screen. I took the L, as zoomers say, and just hit quit. Will try again after I get some significantly better gear that compliments the build. +2 beams for 45 seconds after landing is nice but nowhere near enough.
Tried escort dooty and thankfully the not-Doretta doesn't have a HP bar and you can freely scout ahead for oil to fill its tank and go from start to finish in one go. The side objectives can go fuck themselves, though. "Mine 10 meta blocks", which means mining 10 units worth of special resources (magnite, croppa etc.) and the 3 maps only ever spawned up to 3 per.
Haz 2 is a massive step up from 1, btw. Completely different from default DRG.

Barony comes to mind and whilst more a roguelike, it leans toward being an unbalanced but fun shit show. Risk of Rain 2 is a bit more balanced but doesn’t have as much variance since a character plays just about the same between each run. Rogue Core could go either way depending on how much the meta-progression vs the random guns affect play style.

In any case I don’t have any high expectations for it given that the base game is already a perfectly good FPS with proc gen elements and meta-progression. The main difference seems to be an inability to consistently play with weapons that I actually enjoy, which given the base game is full of absolute trash guns isn’t a great selling point.

How long are the runs in Survivor now that it’s 1.0? Gave it a try back at the EA release version but the lack of variety then got a bit stale.

Feels like 20-30 minutes for elimination, 15 for masteries and escort duty since they're both 3 maps long. Elim can drag on significantly if you end up getting twins and they decide to heal every 15 seconds.

I'm not interested in 20 hours slop that is DRG: Survivor, but it sure would be nice if we could get some of the DLC skins ported over to the regular game. Shirt that says "Diggers" and that power drills skin, perfection, I'm surprised we never got any gadget skins.
