Were people expecting him to go away because of this or something? A foreclosure won't end him. Even worse case scenario Phil makes it through. Just a matter of how far up Phil's ass the bank wants to crawl.

Speculation: what are the odds that pigroach luck does pull through? What if it's like the escort saga, where yet another hostile entity in the DSPverse was actually a slow-witted detractor in disguise?

Because God Hates Us, he'll make sure Phil gets some closet detractor working at MidFirst Bank. This fan-turned-troll will jump at the chance to make DSP's life miserable during the foreclosure proceedings...only to end up doing some breach of ethics or something that makes the whole thing null and void and Phil gets to stay at the Gout Ranch with his horse safely for...another year. (Until those pesky taxes resurface.)

What do you mean? Phil doesn't even have to show up to the proceedings and regardless of whether the bank employee is some detractor or not, wouldn't remove the fact that Phil stopped paying for the condo and has admitted to such on camera. The debt is owed regardless. You don't stop owing tens of thousands of dollars because someone doesn't like you. These are real court documents from a real bank trying to get real money from purchasing this debt that Phil ACTUALLY owes. It won't end him, and who cares if it does? Phil is entertaining, and personally I enjoy watching him fumble his way through life. I think I've said it before, but I'm hoping this train makes it into Phil's 40s because that would be beautiful.

This is the right mindset to have. With cows in general, and especially with Phil, incoming "bad news" tends to get overhyped to the point they're expected to be destroyed over the course of a weekend. Usually, something bad does happen, but it tends to be a significantly slower burn, and while it does damage and generates content, people are disappointed because it feels underwhelming compared to what was expected.

I don't think Phil is going to walk away completely unscathed, but I also don't think this will be the end of DSP. What I'm optimistic for is a good deal of salt once he's finally confronted with the reality of the situation, and I think he'll end up in the type of financial trouble he likes to pretend he's in now for pity bucks. I think the real content is going to come from Phil doing his usual thing and refusing to make any changes and expecting his paypigs to pick up the slack.

Basically, Phil is struggling to play at being rich now, but he's technically getting by, but is likely burying himself in debt. I think he can eat the costs of foreclosure, but he'll keep trying to play at being rich, and that's going to be his ultimate undoing. But even then, I'd wager he'll be able to keep crawling through the muck for a few more years. The biggest potential sagas I could see spawning from this later down the line are losing the wakhando and having to move and Khet leaving him once she realizes he can no longer financially support her. In general, I'd expect a lot of salt and an increase in begging, which should produce some good content. I'd also expect a surge in donations though from the paypigs. for anyone who gets annoyed by that, I'd say just try and keep the bigger picture in mind.

I ironically want Phil to pull through; just so when people talk about dumb-fucking invincible luck, people can point to DSP and say "This is so fucking stupid, there's no quantifiable way to explain how this shit happened." I truly don't want him to be jobless or homeless; wouldn't wish that on anyone. But would prefer he clean up his fucking act.

This is where I am. I just want him to have to face direct consequences for his actions and not just skate by as he's done so many times before. I have no illusions about his continued existence on the internet, if only because he couldn't find something else that pays 6 figures with as little work with his background (or, more accurately, lack thereof).

Win or lose, Phil still does ultimately lose in the end. He very obviously hates video games at this point and if he had his way, would simply not need to be employed while he sits on a couch drinking cheap alcohol watching wrestling all day, every day. His life kinda sucks and he's aware of it - that's why he is so bad with money in buying beyond his means. It's supposed to fill the empty space in his life that is simply being a completely boring individual.

Win or lose, i feel phil will try to push this onto his fans so he's padded from the financial loss.

I went through and found some recent example cases of judicial foreclosures in Stratford because I wanted to know what kind of timeline we are looking at.

Here's one where the borrower didn't appear and got found in default, aka lost:

Turnaround between where we are today (mediation period expired) and a granted motion for default judgement: 12 months.

Here's another:

This person then filed asking to do mediation, were told lolno, and filed informing the court they were invoking bankruptcy. Turnaround: 2 months.

Here's another:

Turnaround: 5 months.

We may see something very soon, we may have to wait a year. From what I'm seeing a year is a little longer than normal.

Deficiency judgement motion example for the first case is attached.

If any parts of the process are up to Phil whatsoever, he'll be exhausting every possible second. So, I wouldn't be expecting this to be resolved quickly.
It will be tough for him to delay court proceedings when he won't even acknowledge to the court he knows there's a lawsuit.

he probably thinks doing anything about it will cost thousands for what he already knows will be the same result as if he just ignored it

he's afraid to touch it cause it might mean he will miss out on frozen lasagna, sushi & $20 ramen

Can someone clarify this for me: is he even getting paperwork at this time?

If he dodges service will they still mail him every motion, order, etc throughout this process?

If I had to guess, they should keep sending it to him. In my opinion it should be required to keep sending it so the defendant knows what is going on and what actions will be taken against them.

Probably would end up doing service by posting/publication, right?

True that it's not like him dodging service will be permanent. I guess I meant refusing to participate, not dodging service.
That'll just make it that much easier for a judge to say "welp, this guy's fucked." and render his/her judgment. Phil wastes everyone else's time by not making time for actual important things is going to screw him over.

I may or may not have a friend who neglected divorce/custody stuff up until the last moment when the actual hearing was. He may or may not have been actually served the complaint, but never responded. When the hearing date came, he showed up with his mountain (see: collection of 5 photos and maybe 7 pieces of paper) of evidence. The judge reamed him for not participating up until now and gave his ex their 3 kids, keys to the castle, and enough child support to require him to live in one of those "extended stay hotels" for the last 8 years because he is terrible at managing money anyways so that was all he could afford.

Waste court time and it ain't gonna be pretty. As Phil said about tevin when he got banned on twitch - "If you piss off the wrong people, it's gonna come back to you, man..." Paraphrased, of course.

The tracking for the letter he's supposed to have receive seems to indicate that there was no delivery attempt yet. Maybe it got lost. Though it's also possible the tracking just never got updated.
Regardless, what impact does him not receiving the letter have on the case? I'm beginning to think he hasn't discussed this publicly because he's trying to delay getting involved while maintaining plausible deniability.

I had a friend who adopted a kid from a single mom. The state is required to attempt to find out who the father is. After sending out letters to the guys she thought was the father they put an ad in the paper, and when nobody came forward they continued without him. I think someone mentioned this being an option for foreclosure as well. They will continue without him after some time and it isn't better for him to ignore it. He has options to mitigate his losses, but none of those are available if you ignore all of the letters.

He has to have gotten mountains of paperwork about all this already. When you get to the point of a foreclosure where the courts have determined you’re noncompliant, he’s been ignoring dozens upon dozens of letters and likely phone calls from the creditors for months now. They don’t just spring this stuff on you. It’s likely that the tracking information never updated, I’ve had stuff delivered before where the tracking info stated it was still in the sorting facility at the point of origin.

Phil isn’t clueless. He knows this is happening. His silence just proves that it’s serious. His tax issues were all likely lies and he just wanted to live it up every time he begged openly and brazenly on stream. It makes no sense that Phil would be so concerned about paying $2000 in backed taxes, but be completely silent about an impending quick flip of his condo where he will still be on the hook for tens of thousands.

Unlike a judgment from some other countries, they're not going to have to demonstrate the judgment was fair. That's presumed, as is the fact that if he doesn't agree, he could challenge it there. They just have to show they have an out of state judgment and register it in the state by this process: https://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=6.36&full=true#6.36.025
Does this mean he could appeal a CT decision in WA and could he be banking on an appeal in WA being favorable to him?
