Hell, I'd enjoy it if it was just a hiking simulator alone. The environments look gorgeous and I hope it doesn't pull a BoTW and get downgraded upon releasea lot of discussion around the game seems to focus on the gameplay being rudimentary, but I think there's more to it than first appears. This trailer seems to show when you 'die' you are transported to a warzone and have to fight your way back. That's a really good idea because it builds on how most people play stealth games. You generally spend a run really trying to be patient and stealthy but then if you fail you try to rush things. Having to fight your way out of a fail state lets you get the frustration and anger out before you try again.
Other gameplay bits have hinted that when absorbed by the BTs you leave behind a crater. What that means is the world map can be fundamentally altered. This brings up an interesting idea where you reach a part of the world map you can't traverse, you could intentionally kill yourself, fight back from hell, and find that part of the map fundamentally altered. Combat doesn't seem special but the gunplay in MGSV was fun enough, but what really looks enticing is traversal. Having a lot of gear that you can use to get around gorges and hills and the like seems super fun. The best part of Breath of The Wild was just exploring the vast map, and this looks like it'll give the same level of freedom but with more meat to it. It might seem simple now but this looks less like a series of scenarios to run through and more like a series of systems that interact with one another you can manipulate.
From what I can tell, it's PS4 only, so it would be designed for that console only. Then again, we did get the downgrade that was Days Gone, though this has taken its time in development compared to BoTW and DG.Hell, I'd enjoy it if it was just a hiking simulator alone. The environments look gorgeous and I hope it doesn't pull a BoTW and get downgraded upon release
some more thoughts from rewatching the trailer
-at 0:44 there's a shot of a photo of Sam, Lindsay Wagner's character, and a pregnant woman. there's little else to go on, but notably PT featured a report of a father murdering his family, including his pregnant wife. This may be the crime Sam committed to get locked up. A lot of people interpret the hades line and the bridges to be a teleportation network that has punctuated the afterlife, and humans can't pass on anymore. if this is true, Sam may have killed his family before the experiment could be completed so they'd pass on, but wasn't able to kill himself. It's also possible the child isn't Sam's but a proto bridge baby, and Lindsay Wagner was involved in the project.
-Sam calls the president by her first name, implying the two of them were close at one point. She may have been part of BRIDGES but not the experiment
-The dialog in the trailer gives the impression Sam is going between cities in america to reconnect it Judge Dredd style, but there's some evidence the game doesn't take place on earth at all. For one, black soil is prominent in the environments, but black soil isn't in america as far as I can tell, not in these quantities. The imagery here looks more like the irish or scottish countryside. Vehicles also appear light and bright, like the kind you often see in mockups of space colonies. The conversation with bridget implies america is in shambles, on the verge of a mad max style resource war, but the untapped resources of an alien world would be a huge boon to america. This is also the plot of Mobile Suit Gundam, a work Kojima is a massive fan of. Homo Demens would also have a more obvious motivation to keep america seperated if they believe the earth government would simply repeat the rape of earth on the new world.
-Cliff has a vanguard of skull troopers with him, something that seems unique to him and is present in nearly all of his appearences.
-Cliff has a large glowing cut on his stomach in this scene. Sam had a similar cut in the debut trailer and it was assumed he had something removed, but I now think they each had something inserted. Later in the trailer we see a shot identical to the stomach baby, but with a decrepit doll instead. I think Cliff had some sort of machine inserted into him that allows him to freely traverse Hades, while Sam had Bridge Baby genes. Cliff's device may be breaking down and he wants to steal whatever is powering Sam to maintain his life in hades. This would also explain why only Sam seems able to reform america.
See the second(?) teaser for DS. Deadman (Del Toro) is also wearing one. If I were to guess, the cuff allows Sam to pull people into Hades and pull them out, and it seems Deadman got separated from him somewhere during the process.Sam (reedus) appears to be wearing handcuffs at 1:23, though one is undone. Given his love of John Carpenter, I'm willing to bet Sam was a convict being given a pardon in exchange for reconnecting america. No implication of his crimes is shown but I think it's likely he was involved in the fracturing the america with Mads.
Don't think Konami would allow him to include P.T. continuations.-at 0:44 there's a shot of a photo of Sam, Lindsay Wagner's character, and a pregnant woman. there's little else to go on, but notably PT featured a report of a father murdering his family, including his pregnant wife. Not exactly, he may just have disdain for the government and shows this by not calling her as such-Sam calls the president by her first name, implying the two of them were close at one point. She may have been part of BRIDGES but not the experiment
I don't think this is the case, but rather think that America is, apart from its enclosures, sapped of resources and utterly destroyed by the "time rain", which seems to affect everything it touches.-The dialog in the trailer gives the impression Sam is going between cities in america to reconnect it Judge Dredd style, but there's some evidence the game doesn't take place on earth at all.
Very likely. Pay attention to Die Hardman in the trailer, the one with the black mask. The black mask has "LUDENS" on the forehead, and is very similar to the one in Kojima Production's "company trailer" seen on their youtube.-at 1:42 you can see Sam starring at his dog tags floating above his hand. a later shot shows sam with a bridge baby suspended in the air. If I had to guess, this sequence takes place on a moon base that'll act as a mother base for the game, tying into the final line in the trailer.

why is no-one talking about that shit at the end?
"I'll show you the real thing soon... I promise. The whole-wide world will be yours to explore. You'll be able to go where-ever you want... even the moon."
WHY IS NO-ONE TALKING ABOUT WHAT THIS NIGGA' DONE SAID??????
he has surpassed Peter Molyneux levels of bullshit here. has he really invented a new gameplay paradigm? or is he jealous FROM minted a genre of imitators? man I really want to believe, but every time Kojima tweets it's something like this.
The solid snake simulation? Or s3 plan? hurmm...SSS gameplay....
