His finished model looks so much better than the previous unfinished leak, they even gave him a tactical incense burner. Unless celeste or apollo brings something insane to the table we might've peaked with venator. I really like how he is just haze if the OSIC was funded by the vatican, and they even have good rapport with each other.
 
I'm gonna get my fill of Venator before they nerf him into the dirt. His pure damage on grenade and ult with refresher is absolutely insane rite now.

I had a priority token and dropped it on getting him first match after the patch, where I discovered in short order he couldn't climb out of the mid trench via the standard jump walljump mantle combo - he bonks mario 64 style at the end of the mantle and falls back into it. Didn't get me killed but.. Valve (tm). How does that not get spotted in testing? Got patched immediately though.

Traps need a slight cd buff and I wish the grenades came online earlier so you could go full meet the demoman out of the gate, but otherwise he's fun. Excellent VO, easily the best injured portrait in the game too.

e: LGBTQ contingent seems to be big mad over the priest being a priest. I wonder if the discord's the same.

It's kind lame that they added modern slangs like "pearl-clutching" to a setting that takes place around the 40s. Most of the other dialog kind of fits.
I get that Graves is supposed to be a sarcastic and defiant kid, but even then, they should have her use older slangs instead.
But other than that, I loved his lines.

Is there even any voice line making him a homophobe? He seems more like a pragmatic guy instead of your usual religious nutjob. Either way the real tragedy of modern game writing is that the biggest public they get is by virtue of writing characters without anything of substance at all, lest you get mouthbreathers like the one you posted being shocked when a character is not a wholesome chungus marvel cinematic universe hero.

Deadlock writing is fresh exactly because they do not compromise on stuff like venator being an actual priest from the vatican.
 
Venator has a line saying "A Shepard must tend to his flock." I know there's a similar quote in the Bible, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's also a reference to Father Grigori who says the same thing in Half-Life 2. Just another fun detail.
 
Been surfing Archon after falling out of Oracle since the start of the patch. After 650ish hours, I'm pretty confident in saying that you can't rank as a solo queuer unless your hitting the 777 multiple times in a row. Every other game even at this relatively higher rank has people abandoning during the laning phase, or the nature of a 6v6 vs a 5v5 moba means one person on a streak cannot easily carry the dullards.

That's not to say that the enemy doesn't throw their leads, or that it's impossible to play from behind, or that a single player cant make all the difference on a teamfight or rejuv steal because that's clearly not true. But sometimes there is just no amount of early leads that make up for the people behind the keyboards. Things would be much easier if people who know they aren't going to make an impact just buy disables instead since those "Cant" miss and can be safely used from the backline.

A third of the community seems to think Silver/Drifter/Doorman/Mirage are, but I think the only canon one is Seven and I'm not sure if that's even confirmed beyond 'gay lamp' being the funny nickname for really bad Sevens and that one patron line that seems to imply Kelvin is his ex. To be fair, a jilted angry gay wanting to become a god is pretty funny in a cliche jrpg way. That said:

I think it's probably him yelling "SODOM WILL BURN" when he gets a killstreak, which I can see being very funny if it's triggered by him murdering one of the above characters while they're playing them. I swear those people will project onto anything that moves.

Silver is drinking buddies with Ventator. Drifter is a wandering psycho vampire that likes killing. Never talks about love or sex. Doorman is a God pretending to be human. Mirage is a bodyguard and only care about his client. Where do these retards get this shit about them being gay?

I guess the "Sodom will burn" counts?. Also on that note, I despise surfing twitter and then stumbling upon the deadlock space over there, it's been heavily infested by the gays there, and they make up the majority of the 'deadlock community' or whatever.

Far be it from me to lecture anyone on religious texts but i'd say sodom and gomorrah had plenty of issues just as bad as homosexuality in most religious texts, the exception being the quran.

All that to say: I really do not give two fucks about what a muslim thinks of a character, and if you find yourself holding the same opinion as a muslim it would be wise to look at why that is.

Playing devil's advocate, I think Drifter is the kind of guy to do anything involving fucking a dude's corpse if it meant more despair for his victims.
I wonder if Drifter's higher or lower than the Trabadour(the vampire Holliday's chasing) in the dickhead murderhobo vampire power hierarchy.
