They don't censor all of the sexual themes or the clown being brutally disemboweled, they keep the child and mother dying in the intro, keep the rape implication of the lesbo boss, but cut retarded shit only people who never even played the games would cut. I'm convinced we all got a Chinese censorship version or DEI hires only skimmed through and told them what to change. Oh and another thing that makes the 360 version of DR better to the demaster and demake is the fact that it still has the highest quality audio. Most game ports and demasters tend to bork the audio porting or processes which either compress them to shit or also change the pitch and speed (DMC hd, Silent Hill HD, etc).

In other news, Dissection Festival. Kinda wish he'd compare the 360 version to the remaster but it isn't that significant to bitch about even though its the majority's experience with the first game.

The 2016 post is just not enough of a drop to care for most people, myself included. The DRDRDF (Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Defense Force) will be interesting to see in action here.

Wow, NOW people want Crowbcat to shit on something? I thought he was all sort of awful for daring to say that the RE4 remake was overrated and the original was objectively better (where is the lie?).

Im not gonna lie, if I was him, I'd def. bring it at the intro of the video.

"Oh sure, now you DO want me to shit on an anticipated remake of a beloved capcom property? Why, I thought Capcom could do no wrong, what happened?"

He earned the right to least savor it a tiny bit before moving on. But he will probably not mention it, just maybe say that something akin to "I doubt as many will intensely disagree with my opinion over this remake in comparison to the last time I covered one of these."

People got salty at him cause they put him on a pedestal. It's a very modern thing which I don't understand in that the internet diasphora expects the people they like to like the things they like for the same reasons they like them. No exceptions. Capcomfags are a lot like nintenfags and other company shills, when they're placated they don't want to be critical and hate people who do so. RE4make was mid just like all the REmakes except the GameCube one. I don't think capcom itself has put out a good unique game since idk MHW. It's fine when people I like hate shit I like, even for bad reasons unless they're being imposing about it. Most others didn't get that memo. I like crowbcat, he's the best of those "early 2000s video game details compilation" channels.

However the thing that catches my attention is why does carlito get treated as a cow and not Frank? When Frank walks in Larry treats him as a customer and he will -not- attack the player until provoked. I believe this is because Frank clearly looks like a standard american and Carlito does not.
I always thought it was because Carlito was bleeding to death so Larry wanted to turn him into meat before he turns, which is why he gets mad when Frank suggests doing something else with Carlito. If they waited any longer Carlito risks dying and turning into a zombie before being ground up.

CrowB was shat on because the moment he was the target of criticism, he went on a passive aggressive whining spree and sulked about it. He has paper thin skin and it really showed.
Are we talking about the RE4R situation from a year ago?
That's not true, he made fun of the people shitting themselves over their latest capcom remake slop being criticized and let them seethe in the comment section/twitter. A good example of a "passive aggressive whining spree" can be found in this very thread, a few pages back, but I can't recall Crowbcat ever fitting this category. I am very much looking forward to his video, it's clear he's a genuine Dead Rising fan and he hates this shit as much as most of us do.
I know 4/v/ hates him, but they hate everybody and everything so nobody should take them seriously. Other than that, hate for him feels artificial and manufactured, usually by a group of people whom he mocked last time.

Guy is a thin skinned faggot that happens to make some accurate criticisms. That he pissed off Redditors in the process that one time doesn't diminish it.

"He's a genuine fan". Good grief.

I was thinking about the Larry Chiang situation the other day. Maybe I'm giving Capcom writers more credit than they deserve but maybe the censors missed the point of the character and the original version being chinese had a bigger significance than just making a funny china man psycopath? That maybe it was part of some ironical setup for Carlito's death? Allow me to explain.

It's pretty obvious Carlito was meant to have an ironic death by dying as a cow, he gets his face crushed (As evidenced by the high amount of nose blood), he gets strung up bu the feet and sent to a meat cutter in a conveyour beltt.

However the thing that catches my attention is why does carlito get treated as a cow and not Frank? When Frank walks in Larry treats him as a customer and he will -not- attack the player until provoked. I believe this is because Frank clearly looks like a standard american and Carlito does not. Why is this important? Larry Chiang looks like an outsider of american society and yet is the polar opposite of Carlito. He looks like a migrant or the direct descendant of one, however unlike Carlito instead of trying to destroy american society he has not only adapted to the american way of life but become subservient to americans doing the one job Carlito would hate the most given the current situation.

Carlito didn't die to the military, the researchers, an american mall-goer, via his own hand or even the virus, he died to a foreigner and was rescued by an american tabloid writer in the last minute. And the worse part is that Larry probably wouldn't have snapped if it wasn't because of Carlito's actions, so in some way Carlito setup his own ironic death without even knowing it.

Carlito was written to be tragic but not particularly likable. What happened to his people was extremely terrible and unfair but commit terrorism on some random american town to "send a message" was truly short sighted. We dont get that many scenes with him being a character and not a constant threat. You can say he wasnt even after justice for Santa Cabeza, he was just after revenge, he just wanted random Americans to feel a fraction of the pain that his people have suffered even if they themselves dont really know the whole story. Maybe Carlito knew it was pointless to gather evidences and share the truth to the media because it would be ( and was ) buried by the corrupt media that bended to the will of the elites and military industrial complex.

He really had so much hatred in him that the moment Isabella began to have second thoughts about this whole thing, he shot her (he does claim he is sorry but all we have is his word) and declares he is going scorched Earth and detonate bombs that would spread the zombie wasps all over America. And there was even the plan with the infected orphans, showing he had all sorts of plans to make sure this was just the beginning even if others failed (tho Dead Rising 3 implies that he didnt mean for the orphans plan to be a full of destruction of America, simply a "punishment" of which the nation would recover from eventually with the immune probably leading to a cure).

What really sealed his death was Brad's last bullet hitting him in the gut and he has been bleeding out since, refusing to get any help at that point from anyone. Larry grabbing and dragging him was meant to maybe be symbolic to remind him where it all started, meat...thats why his people died, meat. Lambs to the slaughter, with him being now on the literal meat hook by an americanized foreigner.

His last moments are literally denying Frank any help towards stopping his plans and just commenting on the tragedy of his own people.

"Hey... Aren't zombies great? I mean, all they do is eat, and eat, and eat. Growing in number... Just like you good red white and blue Americans."

"Why... Why was your meat so much more important to you than human life?"

Edit: My point is that Dead Rising 1/2 and some of 3's characters have more depth than its given credit for.

Wonder what Carlito wouldve thought of indians, just replace all the meat talk with rape i guess

So, I just watched DSP's Dead Rising stream compilation...
He genuinely had problems dealing with Carlito in his first fight in the Food Court. This is 100% the reason why yellow paint is there.
He also has a whole lot of problems just generally figuring out the most basic shit or where to go even with a giant arrow on top of the screen pointing in the right direction, but none of that is anything new for the gout ridden pigroach.
I knew this was the case already, but I needed to see it with my own eyes. "Deluxe Remaster" isn't really an appropriate title since there is nothing "Deluxe" about it. "Dead Rising: DSP Edition" sounds about right since most if not all the changes have been made to accommodate a retard like him.
Speaking of which, a wasted opportunity not to start with a blank slate and set the first rebooted title somewhere in Japan or some other part of the world other than Willamette. We know nothing about the worldwide outbreaks, other than that the zombie virus is an international pandemic most likely. There is a short promotional series made during Dead Rising 2 era which shows an outbreak in Japan but other than that, that's about it.
Talk about a wasted opportunity, we could have had a brand new trilogy set in Asia, with references to the US titles and instead we got a re-heated 20 year old patty that's been fished out of the trash and called a "Deluxe Burger" then sold for 70$. Capcom could have started over with a clean slate and nobody would have questioned them, instead we got the laziest possible outcome that could have happened. Even leaving the franchise dead would have been better.

Don't want to double post, but Yathzee reviewed DRDR
In short, he found it worse than the original, prefers Dead Rising 2 as an improvement of the formula and even tho he "decries racism" in the game, whatever that means, even he found the censorship retarded and uncalled for

To be fair, it only refers to Larry being a low-IQ, Ugly Chinese man (think Uncle Ruckus, minus the satire). Old Larry was a lot more entertaining, though.

Dead rising 2 will suffer more since its the one instance of a sequel doubling down (heh) on its positives while ramping up the craziness and then having off the record polish the gameplay even further. I'd prefer if they just made a new game with new characters to avoid what came before. Or just abandoning it again. Dead is better than this Pet Semetary shit going on with publishers and IPs.

Yeah... As redditors would say: Yikes.

For comparison, this is how Resident Evil 4 Remake is doing right now:

I haven't played 3 but 2 does not have depth of writing. In fact within the first 20 seconds you can immediately find out this is a western game cause it's based around a game show and it tries to make the zombies some sort of social satire. TK is an over the top celeb with women hanging around him like leisure suit larry while Chuck the cuck has internal conflict about getting money through shitty means. The first game had depth and charm because the Japanese tend to write serious characters and situations without self awareness, which comes off as charming and deep depending on context. Idk how they do it but that's what makes their characters endearing. If Leon Kennedy in RE4 was written by westerners, they'll give him some internal conflict bullshit about how he hates the government, hates his job but is good at it, has a drinking problem, probably wanted to leave the force but they forced him to save Ashley under coercion. The japs wrote leon as a heroic character who was interested in the mission, interested in ashley, was not too serious and was a bit dumb, enough to get manipulated by everybody. In fact that's what happened to Frank in OTR where he became a washed up celebrity with an ego, not a journo who was interested in the zombie incident and incidentally became interested in saving the survivors/helping Brad and Jessie. Japanese writers just need to be given more control and ips, western writers try to make everything into baldurs gate or last of us with supposed deep characters and social satire.

I don't know why people like 2. 1 and 2 have very different philosophies on gameplay. DR2 really felt like playing Borderlands 2, like an rpg where you grind enemies for upgrades, fight with junk you find lying around and have no challenge because the timer is lax. DR1 felt like an nes or arcade game which is why I found it fun, it's just get from A to B with these obstacles, optimize while doing so. DR2s gameplay doesn't work for dead rising, it's like putting dead space style gameplay into RE4.
