I don’t agree with some of his opinions, but stop shitting up the thread being assmad over someone having an opinion you don’t agree with.
I'm just lurking since I've never played a single DR game but god damn the level of asshurt on display by him is making me want to actively avoid any of the older games since apparently they turn you into a raging spergy dickhead.

Alternatively you can visit fitgirl repacks for the dead rising series without giving capcom a cent. I began with 2 on 360 and it was fun. Be warned the 2016 demaster suffers from memory leaks and performs bad on older pcs. 360 version seems the best way to play DR1 but with problems. The new DRDR has denuvo. I think 2 is pretty much the best way to get a taste of the franchise. Anyways since this is the DR thread here is the official survey. This might determine the future of the series so be sure to sign it it you got deluxe remaster or just want to influence it. Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster survey bizarre to see other non-capcom zombie IPs listed lol. It ends October 18th.

There's a cheat book you can get that essentially does that apparently. Unrelated but this game was predominantly made by a chink studio Neoboards so idk why the Capcom ballwashers are out in full force today jumping all over the guy who's been repeating the same takes from weeks ago. This was not made exclusively by Japs if that happened it would have been more like the REmakes. Nothing about this game is very progressive for the franchise and it is a sidegrade at its best. IDK why people feel the need to defend it and screech that its better than 4, because I see it as not much better either when it comes to this series they could have made a new game or successor with the resources. I just don't sperg about it as much as the other guy cause I stopped giving a fuck this franchise had a decent ending for the first few games and 3 games is better than more that just try to repeat the success. Are our standards so dead that a repeat of the first game is now a swing in the right direction? I like innovation, when I imagined a DR remake a long time ago, I IMAGINE exploring Willamete, having extra takes, new story content, new endings, but this is the exact same game just in a new engine which cheapens the experience. They give new voice actors and don't even make use of it lol. New graphical gimmicks like the day night cycle is not new content. The problem with DRDR is you're paying for something those lazy fucks could have (and SHOULD HAVE) fixed with the initial remaster which honestly looks worse than the 360 version, the initial remaster was already washed out and this remake is based on that. They only improved some things in the 2016 remaster, fixed some bugs that were in the 360 version but also had new ones in the porting process that this remake sort of fixed. Its just absurd to me, DR1 is a fine game and didn't warrant a remake like this, if they never released the first remaster I could respect it more. Instead they abandoned the 2016 demaster and then had the gull to bring back the franchise with this, feels forced. I'd have honestly liked them to pull a RE7 with this franchise but that Capcom wasn't the same. This is the safe method of bringing back an IP you dragged through the mud. If you like it, by all means have your fun with the game. Just don't be like /v/ and have such pissing contests. This is DEAD RISING, not RE.
My opinion of DRDR isn't even that high, I think it's an unnecessary remake and would have much preferred a new Game in the franchise or just leaving it dead.
All of my anger in my posts comes towards the Poster himself acting like an Autist for pages on end constantly sperging out on posters for liking a few things about the Game while making these ridiculous braindead claims, that's really all to it.
I expect the sort of posts he makes from Twitter or /v/, not Kiwifarms, so it's highly annoying seeing it here.
If I wanted to see someone sperg out over the remake and go on and on and on about it for pages on end then I'd browse /v/ or twitter.
Hell it's the same behaviour I see from SJWs and leftists getting upset over just about everything nowadays, constantly screeching and whining about something they dislike and attacking people who like what they dislike.
I just wanted to talk about the game here and the fun I've personally had with it, and from what I've seen other posters here too.

Are there problems with the game? Absolutely, I dislike the changes they've done to Erotica, Cheryl and Cliff.
I think the colours are too muted especially in the Park itself, it looks just so barren and dead which is out of place considering why would the maintenance workers stop cutting the grass. I'm sorry but grass does not grow that fast especially if the outbreak has only been going on for a few days.
I was hoping for more content/changes, even just simple ones as being able to rescue some other psychopaths, they made it so you didn't need to kill the Sniper Thomas and I was excited for that since I always felt bad for the bugger and always wanted to rescue him, but oh what's this? You can't rescue him, at that point why don't I just kill the guy since he plans to stay with his family despite them all being dead.
They've nerfed the Mini-Chainsaws imo, and they also added some "defense" to the bosses so you can't just kill them instantly, you can attack for a little bit dealing damage then for some reason they get invincibility and you need to wait for their turn to attack before you can continue attacking, and also some bosses can even heal themselves now.

Do I recommend the remake? Not for full price, If I bought it I'd be quite upset.
I do think it's worth playing just to see this weird "alternate reality" version of Dead Rising cause it's surreal playing it with all the changes in Voice Acting and location changes, plus the QoL mechanics are fun dicking around with.
Especially the motorbike, killing Larry with it was the funniest experience in the game since it worked way too fucking well.
But do I recommend the remake? Not for full price, I was lucky that I was gifted it but if I bought it I'd be quite upset.
I'd suggest wait for a heavily discounted Sale or just pirate the game.

And honestly, If it a lot of the QoL features were backported into the original then I would never replay the remake.
I actually didn't know it wasn't Capcom who did it, that's surprising tbh.

It was Neoboards or neobards, they are a "chink" more like a Taiwanese company though I suspect they neutered this to comply with the CCP, I wish thet did a yakuza 0 thing where they made Larry white for the Chinese and kept the same uncensored content for westerners. I'm not sure the extent that they worked on it but they have it under their site.

Yeah Neobard is the same team that developed Resident Evil Resistance and Resident Evil Reverse (2 flops). That tells how much Capcom cares about the Dead Rising franchise.

>Demake barely a week old
>Nobody on 8/v/ is talking about it
>Nobody on 4/v/ is talking about it(as of this writing)
>Barely anybody is making videos about it
>Those that do are either small, irrelevant channels nobody will ever watch or video mills that will move on to the next thing
>Pretty much all fans universally hate it
>Normalfags still universally either get filtered out by the game or don't care for it

This shit is DOA, there is absolutely no way this is getting a sequel. IP and fandom are dead again, lmfao. At least the mediocre RE4R lasted a bit longer in everyone's zeitgeist!

Best part is that I've seen people coping that the JAPANESE WILL SAVE IT! Except when it came out, it turned out to be a poorly made, censored slop outsourced to China. At this point, Capcom Vancouver knows what makes this franchise what it is more than the out-of-touch Japanese branch, and that must HURT the people who hate DR2/3.

After playing the remaster, I like the changes they made. The only annoying part was that they didn't want to pay the survivor voice actors to voice their lines after you saved them so there are only a handful of different voices when you escort them across the mall. Ross goes from a deep voiced black guy to a gay accent for some reason.

I could be wrong but apparently they were the ones that made Resident evil 3 remake? If so, that wouldnt surprise me. Seems like Capcom gives Neobards the projects of which they dont care much for when compared to the projects they are investing their A-teams on.

RE3 remake and this actually do have a lot in common when you think about it and I dont mean that as a good thing.

So I did more research on Dead Rising 3's time scaling. I came to the conclusion that Story Mode and Nightmare Mode have much different clocks, meaning that same numbers for both modes still give different results. Moreover, timers on scoops might be using it's own internal clock, independent of how fast time actually passes(similarly to weapon lockers and garages and their refilling meters). This is just a guess, not like any of this is documented.
Might have to take a more scientific approach and measure both Story and Nightmare modes on Time Scalar of 1, see how quickly one hour of in-game time passes(a pain in the ass since DR3 doesn't offer a real time watch btw). My guess is to get that mythical sweet-spot I am looking for with time being tight, but fair, like in older games, I will either have to put some absurd double digit value for Story or lower Nightmare from 4. Time will tell, 3 for Story still has a slower timer than the classic games(roughly 2 hours per in-game day, meaning 12 hours in game equals one real hour).

Other than that, I found an interesting video:
Technical comparison between Dead Rising 3 and Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. Surprisingly, Dead Rising 3 doesn't beat DRDR on absolutely everything, but it still does on most things. Sad how a game from 2013 is still the most technologically impressive and advanced title in the series.
LMAO at the end, where the zombie heads don't even explode after a queen is used in DRDR. At this point I can't tell if this is laziness or censorship.

If we're being fair to DRDR, at least this demake doesn't seem to actually cut any substantial content like missions or endings, where as RE3R cuts like half the game and turns the other half into shit. Still, this doesn't excuse the more annoying cuts, that being the pointless censorship present.

If the changes are "nothingburgers" then why did those changes need to be made at all?

Ah, you see, it is a nothingburger only on the subjective level. Meaning we should accept changes to things made by more talented people to please those who do have a pointless issue with it. It is only a nothingburger when it comes to things we like because their offense outweights our acceptance. If this was a chinese game that portrayed a butcher as a white mongoloid retard, we need to just "suck it up and respect their creations".

Just the typical response of a mentally conditioned moron that can accept double think.

Edit: Sentences were a bit off to me so I fixed and added a bit more.

I saw this on Nick930's comparison video. Another large YouTuber giving the "changes" a pass.

Isn't this the dude who basically makes a living making "X Restrospective" or "History of X" kind of videos where he just reads wikipedia articles to illiterate retards? Hardly anyone worth talking about.

Resident Evil remake 3 was also outsourced but it was by another studio. The studio is known as M-Two which was founded by a former Capcom employee. Both games were bundle together. Probably because Resident Evil Resistance wouldn't have sold at all. M-Two originally was working on the Resident Evil 4 remake but Capcom later decided to demote M-Two as assistant for the RE 4 remake. My guess is due to RE3 remake mixed reception with all of the cut content. Not to mention RE 3 remake had tons of re-used assets and they fucked up Nemesis big time. Nemesis is supposed to be a stalker and he was a complete joke on the remake.

I was thinking about the Larry Chiang situation the other day. Maybe I'm giving Capcom writers more credit than they deserve but maybe the censors missed the point of the character and the original version being chinese had a bigger significance than just making a funny china man psycopath? That maybe it was part of some ironical setup for Carlito's death? Allow me to explain.

It's pretty obvious Carlito was meant to have an ironic death by dying as a cow, he gets his face crushed (As evidenced by the high amount of nose blood), he gets strung up bu the feet and sent to a meat cutter in a conveyour beltt.

However the thing that catches my attention is why does carlito get treated as a cow and not Frank? When Frank walks in Larry treats him as a customer and he will -not- attack the player until provoked. I believe this is because Frank clearly looks like a standard american and Carlito does not. Why is this important? Larry Chiang looks like an outsider of american society and yet is the polar opposite of Carlito. He looks like a migrant or the direct descendant of one, however unlike Carlito instead of trying to destroy american society he has not only adapted to the american way of life but become subservient to americans doing the one job Carlito would hate the most given the current situation.

Carlito didn't die to the military, the researchers, an american mall-goer, via his own hand or even the virus, he died to a foreigner and was rescued by an american tabloid writer in the last minute. And the worse part is that Larry probably wouldn't have snapped if it wasn't because of Carlito's actions, so in some way Carlito setup his own ironic death without even knowing it.

They don't censor all of the sexual themes or the clown being brutally disemboweled, they keep the child and mother dying in the intro, keep the rape implication of the lesbo boss, but cut retarded shit only people who never even played the games would cut. I'm convinced we all got a Chinese censorship version or DEI hires only skimmed through and told them what to change. Oh and another thing that makes the 360 version of DR better to the demaster and demake is the fact that it still has the highest quality audio. Most game ports and demasters tend to bork the audio porting or processes which either compress them to shit or also change the pitch and speed (DMC hd, Silent Hill HD, etc).

In other news, Dissection Festival. Kinda wish he'd compare the 360 version to the remaster but it isn't that significant to bitch about even though its the majority's experience with the first game.
