There's a cheat book you can get that essentially does that apparently. Unrelated but this game was predominantly made by a chink studio Neoboards so idk why the Capcom ballwashers are out in full force today jumping all over the guy who's been repeating the same takes from weeks ago. This was not made exclusively by Japs if that happened it would have been more like the REmakes. Nothing about this game is very progressive for the franchise and it is a sidegrade at its best. IDK why people feel the need to defend it and screech that its better than 4, because I see it as not much better either when it comes to this series they could have made a new game or successor with the resources. I just don't sperg about it as much as the other guy cause I stopped giving a fuck this franchise had a decent ending for the first few games and 3 games is better than more that just try to repeat the success. Are our standards so dead that a repeat of the first game is now a swing in the right direction? I like innovation, when I imagined a DR remake a long time ago, I IMAGINE exploring Willamete, having extra takes, new story content, new endings, but this is the exact same game just in a new engine which cheapens the experience. They give new voice actors and don't even make use of it lol. New graphical gimmicks like the day night cycle is not new content. The problem with DRDR is you're paying for something those lazy fucks could have (and SHOULD HAVE) fixed with the initial remaster which honestly looks worse than the 360 version, the initial remaster was already washed out and this remake is based on that. They only improved some things in the 2016 remaster, fixed some bugs that were in the 360 version but also had new ones in the porting process that this remake sort of fixed. Its just absurd to me, DR1 is a fine game and didn't warrant a remake like this, if they never released the first remaster I could respect it more. Instead they abandoned the 2016 demaster and then had the gull to bring back the franchise with this, feels forced. I'd have honestly liked them to pull a RE7 with this franchise but that Capcom wasn't the same. This is the safe method of bringing back an IP you dragged through the mud. If you like it, by all means have your fun with the game. Just don't be like /v/ and have such pissing contests. This is DEAD RISING, not RE.
My opinion of DRDR isn't even that high, I think it's an unnecessary remake and would have much preferred a new Game in the franchise or just leaving it dead.
All of my anger in my posts comes towards the Poster himself acting like an Autist for pages on end constantly sperging out on posters for liking a few things about the Game while making these ridiculous braindead claims, that's really all to it.
I expect the sort of posts he makes from Twitter or /v/, not Kiwifarms, so it's highly annoying seeing it here.
If I wanted to see someone sperg out over the remake and go on and on and on about it for pages on end then I'd browse /v/ or twitter.
Hell it's the same behaviour I see from SJWs and leftists getting upset over just about everything nowadays, constantly screeching and whining about something they dislike and attacking people who like what they dislike.
I just wanted to talk about the game here and the fun I've personally had with it, and from what I've seen other posters here too.
Are there problems with the game? Absolutely, I dislike the changes they've done to Erotica, Cheryl and Cliff.
I think the colours are too muted especially in the Park itself, it looks just so barren and dead which is out of place considering why would the maintenance workers stop cutting the grass. I'm sorry but grass does not grow that fast especially if the outbreak has only been going on for a few days.
I was hoping for more content/changes, even just simple ones as being able to rescue some other psychopaths, they made it so you didn't need to kill the Sniper Thomas and I was excited for that since I always felt bad for the bugger and always wanted to rescue him, but oh what's this? You can't rescue him, at that point why don't I just kill the guy since he plans to stay with his family despite them all being dead.
They've nerfed the Mini-Chainsaws imo, and they also added some "defense" to the bosses so you can't just kill them instantly, you can attack for a little bit dealing damage then for some reason they get invincibility and you need to wait for their turn to attack before you can continue attacking, and also some bosses can even heal themselves now.
Do I recommend the remake? Not for full price, If I bought it I'd be quite upset.
I do think it's worth playing just to see this weird "alternate reality" version of Dead Rising cause it's surreal playing it with all the changes in Voice Acting and location changes, plus the QoL mechanics are fun dicking around with.
Especially the motorbike, killing Larry with it was the funniest experience in the game since it worked way too fucking well.
But do I recommend the remake? Not for full price, I was lucky that I was gifted it but if I bought it I'd be quite upset.
I'd suggest wait for a heavily discounted Sale or just pirate the game.
And honestly, If it a lot of the QoL features were backported into the original then I would never replay the remake.
I actually didn't know it wasn't Capcom who did it, that's surprising tbh.
