for me, it just depends on what they change. i personally don't care what someones skin color is or if I can't take 2 pictures of a woman knees for Erotica points.

now if they changed things like, adding in combo weapons or removing the time limit, then I would be upset.

I have seen leftists having insane ass explanations to change integral parts of a brand, be it lore, gameplay, characters and things like that. But as I said, they never start big, they start small and build up from there.

Am I saying that WILL happen? Not really, but Im seeing all the symptoms and they rarely tend to be wrong. It is extremely tiresome seeing the decay and people being none the wiser because "it is not a big deal". Once it becomes a big deal, its too late.

As I said yeah sure you could for it, but at that point You might as well just take a picture of a horde of zombie women for Horror,Erotica as they both just pointless underused non set piece bonuses at that point. what i'm curious abou tis like, where do you think this is going to go? because let's be honest, Dead Rising is a dead fucking franchise. They could remake 2 and have Chuck be a strong powerful black woman and honestly? still better than Dead Rising 4.

Maybe have an original psycho in DR2 who is an openly anti-LGBTQ Trump supporter, using the crisis to wipe out "the undesirables" as he holds hostage a couple of gays and trannies and his death scene is easily the most graphic in the game. Then Chuck rescues them and they have a dialogue that has Chuck saying he doesnt mind what they are and they were brave having to stand "shit like that". Oh and either we cut to the safehouse with a cutscene as to remove any sort of chance of the player "failing" to save them or, god forbid, kill them for the lolz.

I would legitimately prefer if they remake Dead Rising 1 and then make an entirely new game for Dead Rising 2.

I know that's a radical personal opinion, but I do not like Dead Rising 2 on such a fundamental narrative level that they'd have to do something entirely new for me.

And it would be very hard to make a tranny out of the former because what will they say? That the zombies was the last drop and now they are unleashing the rage from years of standing chuds and transphobes and their death scene is like Cliff's where they talk about how they just "wanted to be what I was meant to be" or something? And they would never make them a psycho of the latter category for obvious reasons.

i completely agree. i fucking hate Terror is Reality, I hate the Phenotrans shit or whatever it was called. I fucking hate "we sell zombrex so we have to create zombies for profit."
Dead Rising 1 was a serious story with goofy elements, and it's a perfectly fine story, it's not amazing, but it's fine. I love the dread of Dead Rising 1, how no matter what you do or how much you fight, pretty much everyone dies. Whereas in Dead Rising 2, Chuck pretty much gets everything he wants and comes out a hero.

I hate that they made Dead Rising just a goofier Resident Evil. I hate that they set up a pretty good plot point with the Carlito Orphans and never followed up on it aside from slight lip service in Dead Rising 3. So I will admit, I am a lot more lenient on shit like "They're changing things about the original!" Good. Aside from Dead Rising 1 the franchise fucking sucked and if I have to lose Erotica pictures for them to hopefully get this franchise back on track, that's a sacrifice I am happy to make.

better graphics + mod support, really. it being on the RE Engine means we might get some pretty cool mods, which the original just doesn't have. at least that' why I'm getting it. I've been big into modding RE Engine games.

No but seriously, them not bringing back TJ to voice Frank already killed what tiny amount of interest I might've had. I'm in general just so tired of remakes. I would've rather seen Capcom take a crack at a DR5 now that they're back to developing in house instead of outsourcing every title after DR1 to a bunch of shitters.

Only positive I can give on this situation is I'm glad the original DR got a decent port to PC before this remaster otherwise it would've been stuck on the 360 forever.

Dead Rising has used goofy naming conventions as a joke for marketing since DR3's DLC. It's fucking retarded.

Removing erotica means also having to redesign several NPC interactions and at least Kent's side quest, where in order to beat him you had to take one FANTASTIC photo of each category, brutality, drama, and Erotica.

One of the primary reasons to save the female survivor at the end of the cult boss was because she would reward Frank with a chance to take three or four top tier erotica photos, all worth 1K PP a pop if not more. That will also have to be gone.

The whole POINT OF THE GAME is to play as a sleazy photo journalist! Not rewarding you with erotica points means an essential element of who Frank is is now gone. He's a paparazzi. He uses bad situations for his own gain. He takes pictures of horrible violence and titillation because that's literally what paparazzi do.

Also it will ruin the joke where taking an up skirt shot of ugly fat survivors will give you horror points instead.

And besides, what the fuck are they gonna do if they ever decide to do a DR2 remake? That game is set in Vegas, has sex shops, prostitutes, strip poker, God, they might just have to skip that one altogether.

My point being. Taking random photos of hordes for horror is the same as taking random photos of women for Erotica. Yeah might be here for the scope, but you want to take set piece photos for the big PP. Which Horror, and Erotica are both underused in. That's why I posted the wiki page for listing a lot of the bonus scoring set piece moment photos(it only went up to case 6-1 anyway). This was to draw to the point of, why saying removing Erotica was fine because there wasn't much uses for it, could also then be used to argue in favor of removing horror category for the very same reason, and why that is foolish.
