Glad I didn't get it. While I was impressed with the early gameplay. Something about it didn't pull me in enough to drop $60 on it.i finished dying light 2 a couple weeks ago, what a fucking downgrade from the first game. story was so dumb, characters annoying and paper thin the "good guys" were radical anarcho commies who constantly insult and try to kill you while the "bad guys" are nice to you and keeps control in the zombie ridden world only to turn evil in the last 2% of the game, so fucking stupid.
Maybe the big one finally happened and California is out to sea.Way to steal Dead Rising 3's setting and premise in order to make a game with "island" in the name that doesn't take even place on an island. Retards!
Its melee combat is good. Its not much of an improvement over the first game, but the first game was already pretty good in that front. Ranged on the other hand is basically gone - you can get a bow, and a sidegrade into a mediocre crossbow, or a disposable two shot shotgun. None of them are worth the hassle, really.Glad I didn't get it. While I was impressed with the early gameplay. Something about it didn't pull me in enough to drop $60 on it.
I'm really surprised they didn't drop the dead island branding at all. Negative connotations in your marketing cannot be worth any 'brand recognition' the flop of the first game woulda gotten them. Between the time and the difference in feel and attitude from the first, there's not much connecting 'em aside from zombies n the name.Who the fuck cares about this game? It's been almost 10 years since it was announced, Dead Island 1 isn't even all that great to begin with.
The series (or at least its identity, keep whatever new game assets were developed for this sequel and call it something else) should have been permanently shelved after they made a fucking MOBA of all things, only for it to get canned during early access. Christ, weren't they going to make a Dead Island movie, too? It's like the whole series just fell off a cliff.I'm really surprised they didn't drop the dead island branding at all. It really did - Its always funny when a company seems to think they can just FORCE a brand into existence. You see this a lot with esports, trying to force a competitive scene into place without any consideration of whether you have a competition worthy design. Movies, books and merch tend to be examples of this too, you'll have a crap game come out with three lore novels and a 35 minute long youtube miniseries of lookalike actors on a bad cgi sound stage, and then wonder why the game didn't break even after all the burn on the 'marketing' budget. The series (or at least its identity, keep whatever new game assets were developed for this sequel and call it something else) should have been permanently shelved after they made a fucking MOBA of all things, only for it to get canned during early access. i got it on sale and even then it's not worth it, better to just replay the first gameGlad I didn't get it. While I was impressed with the early gameplay. Something about it didn't pull me in enough to drop $60 on it.
