Batman the Brave and the Bold was a much more... energetic take on DC. What even the pictures cannot convey is the outrageous Barvarian accent they added too.
I used to watch the shit out of that show as a kid. It was one of the things that really got me into superheroes.

Something I really appreciate was how for a show all about Batman working together with various heroes, it waited until the third season to use Superman and Wonder Woman. Instead, Batman teamed up with several other heroes who haven't gotten as many animated appearances. It wasn't just B-listers like Green Arrow and Plastic Man. Other heroes would be introduced to younger audiences like B'wana Beast and the Doom Patrol. I remember the episode I watched the most wasn't the one where Batman fought Superman, but rather, the one where Batman teamed up with the Metal Men.

They were barred from using Superman and Wonder Woman till the last season. The usual DC licensing issues cropped up, forcing the team to use less popular heroes for the most part.

Speaking of Brave & The Bold…
I don't think it's going to be Mr. Freeze. It's a little too goofy, flamboyant, and campy for Reeves' universe. What all the pictures are showing is kind of a "natural" cold, and it's not the snow or anything that is doing anything. It's actually Batman himself being cold. And what do we do when we're cold? We get under a blanket. A specific kind of blanket. Which can only mean one thing:

You laugh, but Brave & The Bold actually made this dude a legit threat.

How about he does that one villainess who was born with a hollow brain and has a hole in her head?

God damn, I love it when comics aren’t afraid to be retarded.
The Absence. One of Grant Morrison and his posse's many WTF creations.

I do appreciate how Morrison's cult of personality has dissipated over time so that more and more people are willing to call out how retarded his Batman comics were.

He's a genderspecial so it's never going to go away completely.

The Batman Part 2 has begun filming. We now have some set footage of the Gotham Police Department getting iced - literally:

It is also confirmed that a sequence will take place in the Mersey Tunnels, some pointing out that Reeves may be utilizing a scrapped scene from the first film:

The cast for the movie will include:
Full cast for ‘THE BATMAN: PART 2’:
• Robert Pattinson
• Sebastian Stan
• Scarlett Johansson
• Charles Dance
• Sebastian Koch
• Brian Tyree Henry
• Andy Serkis
• Colin Farrell
• Jeffrey Wright
• Jayme Lawson
• Gil Perez-Abraham

Many were speculating Charles Dance for Freeze, though it is said he will be Harvey Dent's father. Sebastian Stan is said to be Two-Face, though it is a toss-up, with Scarjo playing his wife Gilda. The other new actor, Sebastion Koch seems to be the Freeze for this film.

We also got a new bat logo for the film:

@Overly Serious may as well ping you again in case you are interested.

I am very interested, however, we are now entering the stage in both time and details where I start to tune out so that I can see the film knowing as little as possible about it. If I think I will watch a movie I tend to drop out of discussions and if I definitely intend to watch one, as I do with this, I'll probably be vacating this thread as it gets close. That said, I read the above and... Scarlet Johansson? Oh no. Mind you, Gilda Dent... that might not be the worst casting. Maybe Ms. Johansson is trying to transition out of action movies which is fair at this point. I had to look up who Sebastian Stan is and it turns out it's Bucky from the Marvel movies. That's two of them now. Not super happy about this. Oh, and Andy Serkis makes three though he was already in the first.. I just have this uneasy feeling that Gunn's hand is involved in this. Whilst the cast of The Batman were not no-names, I liked that they were mostly low-key. Robert Pattinson is well known but also made his name with the Twilight movies and Harry Potter to a lesser extent, so was fairly low-profile at the time. And that's a good thing to me - when you don't go all in on the AAA-listers, you have more budget for everything else, fewer giant egos about and less over-shadowing of the actual characters and script.

I see Barry Keoghan is reprising his role as the Joker... kind of. All we got was a voice at the end though I really liked what we got of his Joker in the deleted scene. Two-Face, Joker, Penguin and possibly Freeze. Sounds like a stacked movie in terms of characters. Will be very interesting to see how this goes.

I'll keep an open mind about Sebastian Stan as Two-Face. It's a good role for an actor so I hope he approaches it with the mindset of really bringing some depth to it. It's such a whacky concept that it can be hard to do right but on the other hand if you can do it right, it's excellent.

I note that Zoe Kravitz is notably not currently listed. So no Catwoman by the sounds of it.

I am guessing Joker will be a background entity. Reeves has been pretty big on having Joker have a presence, but wanting other villains to take center stage. I would not expect him to have a major role.

Penguin is likely going to be a faction in the new Arkham City like Gotham, likely going against Harvey who is trying to maintain order till he gives into the chaos.

Freeze will be somewhere in the middle of it all. My guess is Reeves is going for broke, mixing No Man's Land with Long Halloween and just inserting Freeze somewhere in the middle, likely in a Arkham City role where he is more willing to work with Batman after a certain point.

Best guess: City is fucked, Penguin owns most of it and takes over Falcone's role in the Long Halloween, leading Dent to become Two-Face to take him down. This leaves Freeze as the wild card who I can't quite place an idea on how he will contribute.
