Wish the comics would update him to fit more with the show as I think a crazed animal rights activist whose Pygmalion roots have him converting people into animals was a cooler concept. It is better but that is one good one out of many bad ones. Good intentions, bad execution.

Tbh it would have been far more interesting to drop the conquistadors entirely, and make Bats from some smaller tribe, with the Aztecs as the bad guys. Pretty much Batman: Apocalypto

But no, can’t have the bloodthirsty human sacrificing tyrannical empire who everyone hated even when they were around be bad guys.

Correct me if I’m wrong here, but didn’t they put out some non-canon Batman/Tarzan crossover where they fight a colonial safari freak named Dent who gets half his face ripped off by a tiger? I know it’s kind of lame to keep bringing up deep cuts from tie-in books, but I'd much rather see a Batman/Tarzan bloodbath than whoever they're cooking up now.

As much as I like Kingdom Come, there are some glaring leaps in logic. I never fully bought into the idea that Superman would just get so demoralized by all the Liefeld-core dipshits running around with guns that he'd toss everyone into a gulag for re-education. Come on.

Not necessarily.

Pyg is somewhere in the same league as Zsasz of being a more realistic serial killer - or one without a wacky gimmick. His main thing is creating Doll-O-Trons, which are these weird stitched together creatures built from his victims, completely unable to feel pain. The Pyg name comes from Pygmallion, as he "perfects" his victims, usually targeting people with defects. Dude is insane but is way more disgusting than Joker and without any of the charisma. He is mostly just there for people who want full-fledged serial killers in Batman.
 
I don’t believe this has been posted here at all. DC is going to make a new Red Hood comic series.

One of his best decisions. John has literally no personality.

Red Hood is a character skating by on the popularity of a single piece of media, even the Utrh comic isn't that great, but the movie just shotgunned him to normies and Dc had never been able to capitalize on it. The fact that Rh fans don't even know what they want doesn't help.

I'm gonna be slightly optimistic and assume that Aztec Batman isn't gonna be some "le good heartrippers versus evil colonizers" story but actually have Aztec Batman fighting evil among Aztec society such as human sacrifice AND the Spanish colonizers. Under a good writer this could be a pretty good story where Batman is trying to eliminate horrible practices from Aztec society even if it means going up against the ruling class and decades of tradition but also ends up having to fight to defend that society when it is invaded by foreigners and make a compelling tale about the moral quandary of protecting a country from invaders that is a vicious hellhole on one hand but still ultimately your home.

Oh who am I kidding, DC doesn't have writers skilled enough to pull something like that off anymore.

Technically that's not true either, Aztecs weren't really a thing but more a loose confederation of like three different nations that all kept backstabbing each other. So it was more of a "Aztecs hated other Aztecs and used the Spanish as a means of removing their rivals" deal. The other tribes in the region weren't even a major factor most of the time being all generally backwards retards while the Aztecs actually managed to build functional infrastructure and systems that even the Spanish were impressed by.

EDIT: I also just realized that Joker is not Spanish but some random Aztec priest that appears to be allied with the Spanish.

John is supposed to be a brave everyman that knows what needs to be done. He is not loud but that does not equate to no personality.

As for Red Hood, I like him. He has the most unique relationship with Batman. He is an anti-Batman but in a way that fills niches that Batman does not. Every other Robin feels like a lesser Batman, RH feels like a guy that does what Batman will not without crossing his own lines. I like the fact that Batman allows only him to wield guns as a sign of trust.

It's had good legs, even overseas with the weak opening the drops have been good. It is crossing $600 million without a doubt, past $650 million also likely, beyond that it could do but depends on how bad F4 and other movies hurt it's legs from here on out.

Agree. I enjoyed Supes for what it was. A fun comic book movie. But we are suppose to go watch F4 this week. I’ve been wanting a good F4 movie and sounds like we got one. Even critical drinker said he was surprised by the movie.
