I saw Superman, it was alright 6/10. The main issue I had was too much comedy, nothing wrong with levity, but it feels like a full-on comedy in many parts and just doesn't work. There is a part where he is trying to save a weird baby, and instead of being something thrilling, comes across a gag.
The second big issue, was it felt too rushed, sometimes wish the movie would just take a few minutes and sit with the characters. There was a time when he was at the farm having heart-to-heart with his dad. I wish moments like that were longer and had a few more of them between the action. Just an extra 10 minutes or so during the movie would have really helped.
Visually, it is better than a Marvel movie, however, but that is a low bar to pass. More to do with how flat it can look, rather then CGI or sets.
Music is good, but wish they just outright used the John Williams score and created new music where needed, rather then the mix they did.
Story worked, if bit overcrowded. Also thought the cast all did well, only issue is with how Lex is handled at the end of the movie, but that is to do with the script not the actor.
I enjoyed Man of Steel more, but, up to see more of this DCU and see what a follow up Superman would be like.
