It's interesting to see some sci-fi elements in there. Chris Gore said he knew someone he trusts that saw it and they said it was great. I'm only mildly cape-shit interested at best, and I'm Superman'd out anyway, but if it gets good reviews I might be interested enough to pirate stream it.

Someone on YouTube pointed it out, but why the fuck do the robots have genders and express excitement when Superman looks at them, but apparently can’t feel gratitude? It just logically inconsistent for the sake of a funny ha-ha moment.

Plus, really? You’ve got (presumably) multiple scenes of Superman badass-ery, and not only do you open with the same clip as the first trailer, it’s the clip of Superman beaten half to death in a fetal position?? I don’t mind Superman getting his ass kicked, truly, but you’re not inspiring me to go see this movie, Gunn!

Let it all fucking burn.

They let yet another pedophile make a Superman movie and again we are getting a shitty remake of one of the two Donner movies.

The cuck shit is just your free bingo card for if something is kosher.

There's so much in that trailer that looks great. The light humour, the aesthetic, Krypto being believably dog-like in intelligence as he bounces on the injured Superman. Lois is good-looking and Guy Gardner is in it. But the better it looks the greater my worry because the progression in recent years seems to be not to get rid of the poison pill in movies but get better at coating it in sugar.

I am suspicious that this will continue to have all the elements buried in it that I abhor, but be really good in all the superficial ways. Which sucks more than when shit is wrapped in shit because it drives home what could have been if it were unspoiled.

We will see.

I can't believe they're advertising another movie with sad sack of shit Superman with his ass kicked. Returns was Superman as a sad sack of shit who got his ass kicked, everybody said the Snyder movies problems were he was a sad sack of shit, and now they like this because there's a dog. Also this time they just have horrendously cheap looking lighting, costumes and cinematography.

wouldn't a better trailer for a Superman movie be something like some bad guys think they've gotten away with something, somebody goes "look up in the sky" they all go "oh no, no no no, oh shit" maybe one of them has some tech or super powers and thinks he's got this, steps up ready to go, Superman tanks whatever he throws at him, catches some flying cars and shit like that, kicks his ass, and tells him something about finding a better profession, because next time they pull that in metropolis he might not just break that sonic cannon thing in half like he did, but shove it somewhere that guy might have some problems finding a comfortable way to sit after that, then for your little joke maybe he looks up, sonic booms out and back and hands a guy a hot dog or something who dropped it in the kerfuffle and says some shit like "mustard and onions, no ketchup, sorry about the last one this ones on me" and flies and fucks off. then it cuts to Perry asking Clark if he's got anything newsworth for the day and he says something like "well chief, nothing exciting just the usual" then you have a little montage of him doing crazy shit. Him and the dog playing fetch in space, catching a collapsing building, fist fighting a monster, him and Lois floating in the sky, whatever. small cut of Dan turpin or some cop or something thanking him for a bunch of crazy sounding shit and then something goofy like "and coming to my kids birthday party" Superman tells him he's the real hero all in a days work whatever, then you have a final scene of Lombard fucking with Clark and some other guy's like man something tells me not to screw with that guy. It's always the nerds you gotta worry about. and that one's built like a tank. then you see Lombard falling on his ass because his chair's melted or something.

that doesn't really sound very good but at least I'd be like well there's Superman. Not oh great another movie about a guy who gets beaten up like a bitch and hates himself. why don't they make movies about cool confident heroes? It's another the world hates Superman and he's trying and everyone shits on him or wants him dead movie. Super fucking lame.

Until you have to fill out the rest of the movie.
that's why the issue is they let him write them. almost every shot in a Snyder movie looks good, and most of the acting in all of them is as good for what was given in the script.

he's one of those guys who thinks they're a visionary but needs to be more of a studio director. they bring him a good script and he films it and makes it look cool with his cinematographer and whoever does the color grading. he just needs to stop being allowed to do whatever he wants with whatever he's handed.

MFW watching the newest Superman trailer.

regardless of if the movie sucks or not I hope this dude can act his ass off because something is off about his face and it's not just because he's beaten up here and I'm not sure I'll be able to take him seriously in the role.
They made a big point on this being the first time a J has been Superman and I’m getting a kick out of everyone (rightfully) calling him an ugly, lazy-eyed, mutant, dollar store Cavill.

for me it's the jowl
if you tuck that up so he's got a real neck he'd be a cromulent supes

What really gets me is how unimaginative the stuff in the fortress is. A lazy mix of the Donner films and All Star Superman, complete with a generic 3D blue hologram display that's been in every Marvel film since Iron Man 2.
I feel like there's actually a relatively cheap mass-produced blue 3d hologram display and they buy them in bulk to use as props, like that cracked-glass borg disc thingy

That shit is everywhere now, such a lazy way to display information. If you're gonna rip off Donner, then at least do something with the crystals.

I forgot to mention this recently because I've just been lamenting for the millionth time in my life how they're fucking my favorite fictional character again. but anyways I saw Ninja Batman 2: Yakuza League.

I saw the first one in theaters actually like a decade ago or whenever it came out. And I was extremely excited for it, and I didn't like it at all. Actually, I hated it. I was hoping it would be either elseworlds Feudal Japan Batman where it's just his origin and characters placed in a feudal Japanese setting, or just a flat out normal Batman movie but an anime. I got this weird mixture of the two that I didn't like at all. It was just normal Bat Family and rogues get sent back in time to feudal Japan, but with all their shit like the Batmobile and gadgets. and then it went full retard in the end and had Batman vs Joker fighting in giant mechas that were transformer buildings. and the animation was 3D cell shaded at a choppy frame rate and was disgusting looking.

I rewatched it with the guys i watch all superhero shit with before we watched this, and still didn't like it. How was this one? More of the same but turned up from 11, to 1,000. What did I think? I absolutely loved it?? what the fuck?

first off, it's on premise alone, shit I should hate. Its another Batwank movie about an evil JLA and he tower of babels them. I'm sick of evil jla and Batman nigger rigging his way to being the greatest man alive.

now you're asking, why did you enjoy this movie bandito? well I'll tell you. the first one was disappointing to me for doing neither premise I wanted well, but doing both of them poorly. and I thought it was too goofy but like out of nowhere, the goofy shit starts at a certain point and ramps up. I was wrong at saying it goes full retard. It doesn't. This movie goes full retard. and it's so batshit insane I couldn't help but sit in awe of it. This movie doesn't give a FUCK.

The movie opens with a Yakuza tornado attacking gotham. What the fuck is a yakuza tornado? A tornado, where Japanese guys in suits and sunglasses with swords fall out of it and run into the streets and start attacking police for no reason. yes it's a tornado made out of little japs who hit the ground running and attack on sight.

This is my kind of movie. it turns out Ra's took Gorilla Grodd's time disrupter machine and started using to stack weird universes on top of each other. why? Idk for fun or something. This movie constantly offers explanations for the weird shit that only cause more questions which was part of the charm.

Batman and Gotham are just normal (besides the pearl harbor weather) but every JLA member has had their origin displaced to be Superman Red Son'ed but in Japan. Which is now a separate dimension and not a part of earth but floating right above it and you can just see it and they can see the main earth. And their origins have been changed to have been raised by Yakuza leaders so they're all clan leaders and Ra's is the big head of the demon all of them.

batman decides he needs to fix this, hijinks ensue. this movie delivered something I've always wanted and thought at this point I'd never get on screen ever, movie, show, cartoon or even short. Batman, and all 4 of his sons, fighting together, as an actual team. All 4 Robin's work together and actually act like brothers and shit and it was endearing I was like what the fuck? They stuck some actually kino Robin brigade shit in this insane movie? big points from me.

this movie includes such things as a random out of nowhere full on 1970s Super Robot anime opening 40 minutes into the movie where Batman, Nightwing, Red Hood, Red Robin, and Damien have a full on Gatchaman combiner robot super plane sequence, Wonder Woman preparing to duel to the death with Aquaman by randomly breaking into song and singing some pastiche of a 1970s chanbara movie theme song, Nightwing and Red Hood doing crazy transformations and shit then calling out SCIENCE NINJA TECHNIQUE whatever it is as it flashes on the screen (these include red hood turning into a vending machine and nightwing turning into a flashing rainbow robot version of his classic 80s disco costume), Damien captured by his granddad and shoved into a Crane game machine, and a super doomsday weapon gun that shoots human beings as bullets between dimensions

The animation is still choppy but we realized halfway through the first one we could turn on that motion blur shit that retards leave on their TV and usually ruin everything they watch by doing a faux 60fps effect, and it made these actually watchable. I guess that retarded setting actually does have a purpose.

anyways sorry that was really long but honestly just how insane it was and the fact we got a movie where Batman and all the Robin's are a team together makes it worth watching, that said the japanese people who made it don't really know anything about any of the Robin's because none of them are really in character. Dick seemed smarter than Tim, Jason just acted like Dick, and Damien was written less like he was raised by Ra's and Batman and more like a normal teenager but I didn't care. Superman also wears hilarious sunglasses with no explanation the entire movie. Idk why but that kept making me laugh every time he showed up.

I watched it with my black friends and they fucking LOVED it lmao particularly the ending fight they were going nuts. Most of the movie though we were just laughing hysterically at shit like yakuza tornados and the science Ninja techniques. if you know some loud black dudes get a case of beer and a half oz of weed and watch Batman Ninja 2 with them you'll be crying laughing. It does lean too heavily into unstoppable bat god shit for me but the movie is so stupid it didn't bother me.

I skimmed that movie and I found there's a reference, of all things,

to freaking Kingdom Come!
So it can't be that bad. I'll watch it after the first one for completion bonus. As for Superman, I believe the idea is to play with the banchu character-type character along with the Trigun guy who had glasses, not sure, I'll have to watch it.

yeah, Superman is in it as a bad guy with 0 personality who does absolutely nothing until the end of the movie, but we are told he's the leader of a big Yakuza group. pretty much everyone barring the Bat-family and Wonder Woman are specifically just bad guys with no personality. but it doesn't really matter because the movie doesn't expect you to really do anything but go on the weird ass ride it takes you on and just enjoy the absurdity of it. the first one, in comparison is really boring. which I already thought years ago when I saw it, but it tried to do some character stuff, and failed at it so I think this time they just said, fuck it. let's just make something fun. a lot of the character things in this one if you just see some images you might think are trying to do something archetypally, but they're absolutely not, they are purely because somebody thought the visual design LOOKS cool, and that's all it is. and that works!

there weirdly enough is kind of a lot of references to deep pull DC stuff throughout this second one, but in ways that make little sense or are purely visual. so I think most of it came from the japanese guys who made this, just seeing art from various stories and saying "that looks cool, put that in there". both of these movies sort of have this thing where it seems like they were made by huge Batman/DC fans, who actually know very little about Batman or the DC universe, but that kind of works in their favor in a surreal endearing way. overall, the first one still sucks and the second one isn't good by any stretch of the imagination but it's very entertaining. they're both worth watching at least once just to see what they are.
