DR2x2 predictions and speculations :

-Alt route is decided via an early game choice so older fans can choose the new content immediately and newcomers can choose whichever route they want.

-Some of the scrapped execution methods will be used for the new culprits

-Ultimate Impostor lives for way longer
-he starts imitating some other DR1 character (unlikely but still)

-Teruteru survives for an unbearably long time before finally perishing in Ch3's double murder

-Hiyoko becomes a survivor and gets the character develop she was cut short of

-Sonia, Akane, Fuyuhiko and Kazuichi all die

-Someone else gets the Ch3 'remembering disease', probably another nice person like Sonia or Gundham

-Komaeda dies early
-he becomes the blackened and gets executed
-or he survives his execution through sheer luck and dicks around off screen for a good portion of the game

-the big twist at the end of the alt route is that this time it's NOT a simulation! (this would be extremely dumb but it's danganronpa, so...)

-There will be more shitty fanservice of the Mikan variety. And Hiyoko fanservice for the pedophile lolicons in the audience. And maybe some Komahina ship moments for the fujoshits. Of course Chiaki gets more waifu bait moments

(EXTREME COPE AHEAD. THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN)
-Hajime turns into Izuru Kamakura before the endgame and one ups Komaeda as the wildcard morally messed up rival character (probably not but would be interesting to see)

-protagonist switch to either Chiaki or the Ultimate Impostor or some other major character sometime during / after Ch1

I can't really make any predictions because I can see the alt route going in virtually any possible direction, but I will say with complete confidence that Fuyuhiko is 101% going to die in the alt route.

Playing Last Defence Academy, it's pretty good. Kodaka's style is always refreshing and shit's always happening while other games are too scared of jerking the player around. I also like the battle system keeping low numbers (for now) and be more about managing a horde than standard TRPG fair.

What is annoying is that at least 4 times by now the game says "tomorrow I'll reveal something" only to blueball you. Hopefully the multi route is done well.

I will say that the split routes are done well and implemented well but the routes outside of the ones that Kodaka personally wrote are kind of a mixed bag. I still overall liked a majority of the routes in the game but there are some real shitter routes that do not respect the players time at all. Also take breaks if you plan on doing EVERYTHING because it's really easy to burn out if you do everything in one go.

Also the first 100 days are quite literally a tutorial for the rest of the game it's insane.

I just finished the first 100 days. Wonder if I didn't know about the multi ends beforehand it would have been a surprise (probably not, it's pretty clear that some characters are under utilized). Thankfully the game doesn't take shit from you to grind again. I also don't want to use a guide for best gifts per character in case there are some surprise characters.

The existence of the traitor was very aggravating, I knew who he was after the BBQ events, but the game doesn't let me call his bullshit as more and more coincidences pop up.

Since the game was advertised with having 100 endings there probably will never be somebody who reaches the end of the first 100 days and thinks the game is legitimately over lmao. God I'm just imagining somebody reading 15 hours, reaching the first end not realizing they're barely 10% of the way through and it fills me with dread.

It is literally the most obvious traitor ever but my god he's my and probably a majority of the player base's favorite character in the entire game. He's so fucking good.

I just hope the minor routes don't drag on, just chose the kiss option and it seemed to bump me into a harem route. Wonder if the true ending is immediately accessible, or you need to do some routes to unlock it.

He is a good joker without the things that make those kind of characters really annoying. Funny he is also a crutch character way more than the student that dies early.

The minor routes don't drag on except for two intertwined routes which are considered the worst routes in the game because of how much shit they reuse. They're also written by the guy who did Boruto so they're just a waste all together. The one you're on is sweet and short, I liked it but I think the other routes handle what it does better imo.

You can also completely stumble on one of the true endings without any routes needed to unlock but the other true ending you have to do a bit of work to get. You'll see when you get there.

I'd go ahead and bet that you'd eventually need to go back on the first timeline in the start of the game and change the choice there.

Also might as well ask how to grind BP. Damn the Harem route has a pretty brutal first battle.

You shouldn't need to grind BP, but if you feel so inclined you can go back to prior days with easier fights and do those for money, if you do the same fight again you can just skip them and get the result.

A pro gamer tip is to max out Tsubasa and Takumi as fast as possible as Tsubasa clears out trash mobs ridiculously easy with her high movement and large area of attack and Takumi can single-handedly 1 turn every single boss in the game if you setup your Desperation, Attack, and Movement potions properly. Also always make sure Nozomi is there as her basic heal cures tired and you can just spam your ult and then Nozomi's heal. By the time you get to like Ending 60-70 or even earlier you'll probably be so OP and have done so many battles that you'll probably be forced to do one battle per route at most.

On free-time days where you have everyone maxxed out, immediately go on expeditions and search for potion materials as stuff for the jump pad. The jump pad is the only gadget from the workshop you really need.

Finished the Zombie route, guess we now have an evil time traveling Takumi to justify him going crazier earlier/in other routes? It was all very retarded since they have literally dozens of ways to get rid of the Zombies, and the revival mechanic doesn't work when zombies kill you for no real reason. They could have just moved the zombies to the other side of the burning wall and that would have taken care of the problem. Instead they shit on their asses for literal months while slowly being picked off.

An issue I can already see is that there doesn't seem to be choices based on actions in gameplay, nor gameplay changes that would allow those options. Combat and exploration has pretty much stopped being interesting by now, even if it wasn't hilariously broken.

And I give up. Got near the end of the second route but just couldn't be arsed to continue with another 20 days and watched the rest of it online, also read on most of the other routes. It's just agonizingly slow. Like holy shit I could have played and finished an actual VN in the time it takes to finish a single route. I wish there was a way to just jump to the next important plot point without all the bullshit padding of characters repeating the last thing that happened, daily announcement, free time, combat that you need to wait until the game allows you to skip.... It just never ends and I got to the point that I just watched a youtube video on the other monitor while waiting for something to happen on the previous routes. Even trying false endings is not fun because you could very well get stuck waiting the full 100 days until something interesting will go down.

The main issue is that the majority of the cast fucking sucks which really removes a lot of the fun in seeing shit going down because most of the character are more of a list of tropes than believable individuals. Finally getting the secrets was incredibly underwhelming as it's just about the most bland explanations you can expect. The game might as well said everything on the 0 route than tease bad answers.

Also if I might as well vent, I looked in tvtropes for the information on the rest of the endings and holy shit they actually talk about "colonialism" and how humanity getting killed is justified for being the invaders. For a game talking about the folly of violence, the message really went over the trannies head while they go on their hypocritical political soapbox.

For any Danganronpa fans, I recommend playing or watching Danganronpa Another 1 + 2. They're complete fangames that are at least as good as the weakest entries in the series when taken together. I actually did feel a bit of emotion during 2, but there's a lot of fun to be had in the class trials of course. 7/10 fangames.

Not really Danganronpa but close enough to get posted here. Tribe Nine (the gacha game that Kodaka and Tookyo helped develop) is now oficially dead.

Sucks because it was a pretty good game and the story so far was really interesting, and the 2d visuals were amazing too. Last I heard they are trying to repurpouse the story into a webnovel to see what can be salvaged
