Bond is meant to be something that you're capable of paying to ensure you show up at court. If someone commits crimes while out on bond, or is a danger to the community, then denying bond is the appropriate measure. Setting it so high as to be completely unpayable is a violation of the 8th amendment. Not like anyone is gonna make a stink about it because they don't like the people who would benefit from the 8th amendment.
