Holy shit, yes. Like every children's movie from the 80s and 90s had a pointless rap scene. I'm surprised that Derek couldn't dredge up Vanilla Ice with his connections, he would have been perfect for Cool Cat. Plus, he's even more washed up than Vivica and Eric.

Daddy Derek could try to get Vanilla Ice to show up, but there's a good chance Vanilla Ice has standards.

I don't know if anyone pointed this out yet, as it's 50 pages long, but the "cool rock video" has absolutely the worst fake guitar playing I've ever seen:

The first problem is an aesthetic one; anyone who owns a knock-off of a "famous" guitar is a wanna-be cool guy. Frankenstrat knocks are arguably the worst. But that's just my opinion.

The second problem should be obvious to anyone. The thing is an electric guitar. To make sound, an electric guitars requires a wire. A wire to an amplifier (okay, wireless stuff exists, but you still need to plug in a transmitter).

Then there are all the parts where he's "playing" what look like random notes while there isn't even a guitar sound.

The "main lick" gets played at least three different places on the neck.

The solo at 0:50 roughly seems to correspond to what he's doing on the guitar, but it's difficult to be sure. The one at 1:25 doesn't at all. At the start you hear one note and the guitarist either bending the string or using the whammy bar, but he's all over the fretboard playing a gazillion notes. ugh.

I've seen some terrible fake guitar playing, but this is perhaps the worst. Victim of terrible editing? Perhaps. But much of what he's doing seems to be randomly moving fingers. And it's not like it would have been hard to match the sound with the video, given that's the *only* thing you need to sync (since you can't see "cool" cat's lips move).

If Eddie van Halen were to see this he would clobber the guy over the head with that Frankenstrat.

Erik Estrada's wikipedia page still mentions his role in this film and there isn't even a mention of it in the talk page

Ever since I saw Dereks webpage, I declared him to be the long lost "90's man" who got released into the world again far to soon. Everything he does seems like times long past, from the early internet. I just think he can't let the "good ol times" go.

I finally took a look at his website and a closer look at more of the videos.

Good god. That website, the inside of his house, the Cool Cat movie... It's like 1993 never ended for this guy.

Again, Derek can't stop pushing the "bullies don't have friends and everyone who isn't a bully does" angle, no matter how inaccurate it is. I'm sure that all of the friendless children being relentlessly bullied by cliques and other groups really appreciate that sentiment.

Also, does filing (fraudulent) copyright claims against fair use videos for the sole purpose of censorship make one an internet hater? If so, I've got some bad news for Derek...

Not to mention, some kids get bullied because they have no friends. That's gotta hurt - not only being bullied but being told you have to be the bully because you're the one with no friends!

Maybe you would have more friends if you quit being a bully because you have no friends and then you would stop being bullied for having no friends, you bully!

Okay, now I wanna see a Cool Cat sequel where he finds out Daddy Derek is bullying people online, and he spends the whole movie in an existential crisis.
Cool Cat 2: What's The Paw-pose?

Cool Cat: "But why are you bullying people online, Daddy Derek? That's not cool!!!"
Daddy Derek: *spends 20 minutes misquoting and misinterpreting Wikipedia and Listverse articles that "disprove" Fair Use*
