anyway

"people who don't learn from EA's history with origin are doomed to repeat it"

as for indies selling out, I can rationally understand it, doesn't mean I like it. they might make "safe" money for now but the mark remains, I have zero intention to pick up any deep silver or coffee stain game in the near future, and it's not like there's a drought of indies, when they finally come to steam they are competing with all the NEW shit, who cares about the used up whore from last year?
if your game is so shit or redundant you have to suck timmy's cock it just prolongs the inevitable.
I don't like it either, but I don't view it as some hideous betrayal. It's just vidya. I usually wait a few years after a game comes out anyway because I don't consoom enough to have the latest, greatest machine capable of playing whatever is the current version of Crysis. So if I ignore the Epic exclusive (which I always will because absolutely fuck Tim Sweeney and his shitty company), and wait for it to show up on Steam, what have I lost? A bunch of morons got to pay to beta test some shit for me.

>Sony closes Japan studio
> rebrand remnants as Team Asobi
>Everyone who leaves company founds their own studio
>these studios now working with new yet to be named studio that Sony is staffing in japan with former Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, and Square Enix RPG devs
>outrage clickbait artists full of cope with all these youtube white boys claiming these ethnically Japanese game developers are not really japanese because they're spiritually white
>mfw horseshoe theory is magic (∩ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)⊃━☆゚. *

This is literally the same shit they did with their european development studios around the time of Horizon Zero Dawn. At this point I think they're hung up on Jim Ryan being some mastermind who's taking away their anime, but he's only in the position because he's a brainless yes man who will do the bidding of the Japanese Parent company.

If they change him out during whatever phase 2 of their whole IP creation roadmap, these clickbait retards will declare some moral victory that was hard-fought by them really doing nothing.

nah, no point in wasting energy getting worked up about it, especially when all the games are varying degrees of crap anyway I can get the equivalent on steam right now. when it shows up I usually have forgotten about it anyway since there's simply too much stuff coming out that keeps me distracted and busy.

It’s the same game, but with micro transactions

Pretty funny how the developers made one player score all of those points on that scoreboard. A rather fitting tale of how NBA 2K has just stopped caring at this point.

The NBA games, like other sports games like Madden and FIFA, have had microtransactions for years, so even that isn't new.

So, a bit of context: John Gibson is the CEO of Tripwire Interactive.

If you've played Killing Floor, Killing Floor 2, Red Orchestra 2, or Rising Storm: Vietnam, then those come from TW. Shipwright Studios is a co-development studio who helps (helped) them on various projects. Outsourcing basically. And they've been in a working relationship for 3+ years.

And the dude is a Christian.

Plebbit weighs in. Mind you, it's /r/PCGaming and it's been, for the most part, fairly uncucked for quite a while. Woke opinions tend to be questioned and/or downvoted so wokies don't have a grip on that sub.

It's really annoying how people have just decided one side is the "correct opinion" and that anyone expressing the opposite is a demon that deserves to lose everything because "muh speech has consequences", even if they have no impact on the policy they're endorsing.

This is right after George Floyd too where the consensus was if you didn't tweet about how important BLM was you were a bad person.

Politics are gay in general, and the CEO is gay for tweeting that, and Shipwright is gay for attempting to morally grandstand off this.

It's like an annoying kids house rules for a game/sport/fighting game but it's politics.

I was more going for that the state of acceptable political opinions and discussion like this.

A lot of that stems from the left's takeover of Academia.

They really can't handle anything outside of their known bubble of views. Like they'll spazz the fuck out when encountering an Australian. Especially since not many cou8ntries can attest to be founded by Prisoners. Their thinking is too brittle and it's only from a single perspective of what's commonly taught in schools. Like for example they'll act that Muslims' greater oppressor has been white people, when in reality it's always been other Muslims.

Neety Petey needs to remind us that being a neet is a perfectly acceptable past time after the Telegraph dunked on gamers again for not spending their either watching sports or getting fit.

But I wonder why...because maybe some autistic jannies at ResetEra locked the topic and he needs the extra lube for the butthurt because they cited the Telegraph

Draconian covid restrictions and other bullshit like vaccine passports have been pretty much limiting a lot of outdoors activities, so it's not surprising at all that a lot of people have retreated to videogames as a regular past-time, even after work. Too bad the ricedigital article is not mentioning any of that however.

If they're attempting to shame people for playing videogames and not getting fit, they themselves have not been to a gym in eons.

Simply because most people who lift are already well acquainted with games and anime.
