fucking roastedThis isn't sexism, those were literally the only 3 people on Twitch who wanted to play this game.
I just find it interesting. I don't really give a shit but I want to put it out there.Who cares. Game looks like shit, no one wants to play it because it's an Epic exclusive and they need all the hype they can get. Embracing double standards just gets you laughed at. Let them bury themselves and wake me if any of the streamers are utterly embarrassing (they will be).
Oh, that dismissal was directed at 505, not so much yourself. Apologies for the confusion.I just find it interesting. I don't really give a shit but I want to put it out there.
This shows the entire thing is bait, and people are biting as hard as they can to help make "Gamers are still sexist but this time against the Epic Games Store" headlines.#WomensEqualityDay
shield marketing - use a preferred group as your face so when your shit product or decisions are attacked blame your attackers for attacking the "face" and being meanies. Not sure I can give enough of a fuck with these manufactured movements, especially when this one is to cover up another Epic exclusive.

And it works almost every time because people are dumb.shield marketing - use a preferred group as your face so when your shit product or decisions are attacked blame your attackers for attacking the "face" and being meanies.
Why do pretentious SJW hipster fuckwads hate the concept of fun so much?
What responsibility is that, pray tell? Far as I know, the only "responsibility" of video games is to entertain the player. Video games have no responsibility for discussing Nazi atrocities because video games are not a place sane people turn towards for historical education or political insight. If you can make a game where this stuff is the subject matter, and it manages to be both entertaining and educational, then godspeed, but Through the Darkest of Times does not appear to be such a game. Nobody is ever going to become a Nazi after playing Call of Duty without political commentary attached, but heavy-handed Trump references in a WWII game are sure to put off a good number of players.
I can't say I agree. "Sane people" may not look to video games and historical films for lessons but the masses do. Stuff advertised as historical should at least make an attempt at accuracy so that people at least don't have a warped understanding of a past event.
Anyway,

It'd be cool if devs made videos like this from different perspectives. Imagine a video talking about the humiliation of ww1 and a bunch of Nazi stuff. It'd really set the mood.
There has been plenty of excellent books on Nazi soldiers getting de-nazified as the war progressed so they could basically just plagiarize one of those. It'd be a real good history lesson and a pretty interesting story...
oh wait.. Nazis are Nazis because of their genetics, nvm.
Remember, partnering with only men is sexist, but partnering with only women is empowering.

Sorry if I did this wrong, I am still rather new.

I guess this is the best place to put this. I usually don't go on these long form rants, but I feel like doing this one:
So, I expressed a lot of stuff in the ResetEra thread about the Ion Fury stuff. Short version being this will likely negatively impact Voidpoint going forward and how this could affect future content/games, if any, from them to be worse than would be otherwise if this hadn't gone the way it did.
So the other day I tried to discuss this in a private group ran by someone I loosely knew. I already knew he had a few quirks about him when it came to opinions on games, but he was always pretty chill. Was. But I tried to discuss this and express essentially what I posted above, "All of this was shitty and shouldn't have happened, now Voidpoint is paying for it and, potentially, so is any future content of theirs".
I am immediately tackled by him focusing solely on the reviewbombing by fans while dismissing everything else, calling gamers whiny babies, and when I remarked how it was as if he read nothing, he immediately starts on this almost bullet point dismissal of it all. "Sensitivity training? Please it'll just be a few minute session and slap on the wrist.", "Forced to donate ten thousand dollars? That's feel good pocket change, doesn't matter.", "They operate in a professional capacity, they shouldn't speak their personal opinions, but since they did, they're deserving of all of the outcome except the reviewbombings by baby gamers", etc, etc. He then proceeds to call my personal opinion that none of it should've happened immature.
I want to believe he was taking a centrist stance of sorts, but this is someone whose game discussions focus on one or two franchises, otherwise it's him talking about how dogshit Bloodstained apparently is for the nth time, or another of the dozens of "Skyrim bad, Morrowind/Daggerfall good" circlejerks he initiates. He's even openly stated that most modern games don't interest him at all, but he tries to act like some moral and technical authority on what's good and what's bad, and what's okay to do in the industry.
It's not quite Era's level of asinine, but it's close enough that I wonder "why the fuck do you act like an authority on stuff you don't even care about?". And I feel like this kind of dismissive attitude and viewpoint, that devs not lockstepping to just "make game, sell game, stay silent" and daring to even so much as voice their personal opinions deserve punishment, without even caring about the hardships a dev is going through, is a major negative facet of today's industry.
Imagine actually writing a paragrah on culture war shit in current year.I guess this is the best place to put this. I usually don't go on these long form rants, but I feel like doing this one:

Yeah that sounds about right. Unrelated to games, but short version, he's not very self-aware. The few times I called him out so far he genuinely seemed confused like he didn't know what the fuck I was even talking about. Though, he's unironically made statements like "You don't need to know modern stuff to be able to criticize it". I agree with freedom of expression, but I prefer people to actually know what they're talking about. The entire "GAMERS ARE SO ENTITLED" shit started specifically because of journalists wanting to protect their buddies from criticism, and unfortunately, a lot of people have bought into it. Most of the time it's part of an attempt to rationalize their position but as you've seen, rationality rarely has much to do with it.
While I obviously can't say what motivated your acquaintance, it's very possible that he just buys into that narrative uncritically. The biggest reason for that isn't due to anything sinister; it's that these people, despite being fringe, delude themselves into thinking they're the mainstream. They aren't. But it's easier for them to believe everyone else is insane then that they are.

More ontopic, I feel like a faggot for saying this because I don't want to believe it myself, but part of me thinks it's the passive majority like that who are enabling these types of incidents to keep happening, because they really just don't care unless they're the ones with the opinion.
If anything kept people away from Prey 2017 it was improper marketing (many many people assumed it was related to another game franchise with the same name) on top of it being an already very niche kind of game. This might be Prey 2017 all over again, a good game that was harmed by some SJW flavoring that didn't really affect the game much, but still kept people away.

Admittedly there was an unusual abundance of gay relationships in Prey that kinda makes me roll my eyes but it honestly took me a minute to remember them when I read your post trying to think what exactly was "SJW" about Prey. I feel that they earned a pass on it though in a way that other games often don't by having every person on Talos 1 be a character with a role on the station and a personality outside of just "gay" though. Other than that I can't imagine what about the game could be considered "SJW" and I don't for a second think that having like 4 gay characters (6 I guess if you picked the female player character) in the game "harmed" it in any way.
