Chiming in my two cents and armchair psychiatry: what you're describing I think comes up because it's building something not out of a true personal desire to see an idea or vision or art become reality; it's building something entirely to spite some perceived group or enemy. This innate inauthenticity leads to the shallowness and ham-fisted crap we see everywhere because subtlety is a dead art and wasted on 99% of people and the lizard part of your brain picks up on the lack of honesty in the end-result.
In a way it's like a bullfight. The leftoids are currently the matador and they goad the bull, step to the side, delivers a snide remark/bbq skewer into the side of the beast(that grows more and more frustrated) then repeats it while the crowd roars in support. This dynamic wouldn't change much if the bull was the matador and vice versa. In my opinion this routine can be seen in everything from tv news to games. In tv news, on both sides, they invite someone from the other side, not to talk to them, instead they intend to shut them down with quips, snide jokes etc. As a spectacle.

Did you also notice how Elon Musk and Tesla was the only car manufacturer not invited to washington to talk about the future of electric vehicles and how to save the plant from climate change?
