The diffrence is the left can use the internet better than the right. They can use it to their advantage to brigade, blacklist etc on social media and whatever. Your right about that. However if the right was smarter they wouldve used it to their advantage. They didn't and the left is thriving.

mail order and imports were a thing. that's how people sold and traded physical goods before the internet and have been for literally hundred of years. it also ignores that one store declining is an opportunity for another since there's suddenly less competition - that's why you always had stores that carried those games

also, carmageddon was considered too violent and six days in falluja to politically sensitive. again, it's not censorship if a store doesn't want to carry certain subject matter, which is the same reason you won't find rape lay on the shelf next to the latest pokemon. for six days it was the publisher instead of the store, still normal economical considerations, unless you think a big publisher not wanting to fund NANKING SMASHER: THE RAPENING in asia is censorship too (there's also an argument to be made that the six days devs chose it for the controversy in the first place instead of being smarter about it to get a pass, same way the carmageddon devs explicitly chose to).
I could still get carmageddon uncensored in a country that replaces people with robots and turns blood green (and it was only censored in the uk for 10 months, and had a 15+ rating in your prison island colony from the start), so if those are your best examples I don't know what your argument is supposed to be when you on the other hand you have stuff like the last night where it's not even about the game itself but some perceived sin from the past of it's creator and dozen of other cases like that.
It's easy to see that, now, today, the right has no real power to censor games these days. Back then, the games industry was united in telling the right to fuck off and there was still censorship.

things never change because most people don't care. they want to eat, sleep, fuck and be distracted, as I like to say the romans figured that out years 2000 years ago. us even discussing this is like an extreme exception, most people simply don't have the time or drive between raising kids and wageslaving. for this same reason shit won't hit the fan unless people stop being fed and entertained, and even if then it will take a while till that powder keg blows up. because again, most people don't want to violently overthrow their government to improve things when they still have shit to lose. what's gonna happen is things will get worse till people put someone in charge they think can improve or at least stabilize things, then it either happens or it doesn't and they gonna try a few more times till they can't afford food anymore - that's when mussolini 2.0 shows up, not sooner.
