It was trending on social media because of National Track and Field Championships Finals in China 2019. Neither of them actually participates in Olympics. China themselves at least know bad enough if they had let them paricipating Olympics.
But China is still shameless enough to have them participate IAAF World Relay Championship in Japan.

Anime. Mangaka seem to be fine so far, but even they're starting to crack... especially with how much Demon Slayer has completely destroyed the American comics market. That's a pretty bright signal for investors.

To be honest that's been the norm since well the 70's and 80's.
There's been a load of anime that wound up being westernized and the westernized version becoming the dominant canon and then being re-imported back to Japan.
So every worst case scenario that's been ordained by the doomers has already taken place. Nothing is really new ground it's just people not realizing that this has happened before.
Like how many people fail to realize that the SSSS in SSSS Gridman stands for Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad which was the americanized version of Gridman. Not only that but the characters wear visual references to Shattered Glass Transformers which are in itself a western creation.
We've already had instances of major anime studios making anime movies for actual cults. So it's like they've done the propaganda thing before a few times already.

Diaclone became the bulk of Transformers(and series like Zone and Victory never aired in the states so they were forgotten and only were brought back to be merged with the American comic continuity). Hell a few of the toys were originally made in the 1970's that came to America. You can even go further into the 90's and bring up Beast Wars II: The Movie and Beast Wars Neo and none of those have made it into current Transformers canon. Characters got a reference here and there, but Optimus stopped being called Convoy over in Japan around the time the Bay movies hit. And Convoy was the name of the original Diaclone figure so it had precedent over the Transformers Mythos and early on he was called Convoy in a European advertisement but that changed in 1984.
There's a load of examples of this happening well before current year.

Macross had emphasis on interracial relationships and that was before it was turned into Robotech.
Something being woke/unwoke has nothing to do with subject matter, but if a message gets shoehorned in that doesn't seem to fit. It boils down to bad writing.
I mean Star Trek was considered very progressive for both TOS and TNG as well as Voyager and DS9. But people rail on STD because the episodes are poorly structured.
Something like ESG would rate all the Star Treks the same for example.

Yeah, which is why I initially said artists are faggots like that. Thing is, corporate now will probably be pushing for it too to match ESG demands. Double whammy. Already got some pretty stupid shit from a few animes that crossed my radar because of an algorithm or just plain misfortune. Nobody acts that way, even in some Godless country like Japan. Fuck, even the Chinese wouldn't pull the shit those animes did just to push a message.
And woke has a lot to do with subject matter. They pick a subject they think is important and try to preach about it throughout the story, they try to create some form of gospel instead of just a story, and it can happen at any time during development. I've had indie games in development drastically change because the author suddenly decided something political was important to him, completely changed the entire tone of the game. Then there's reboots or live actions; how many works have been ruined because they didn't like the original subject matter?

China is ruled by an authoritarian dictatorship, of course they fucking would try and push a message. They just took down any remnants that the government did anything wrong at Tiananmen Square. They're now trying to get rid of any type of foreign influence, people are concerned that they're going to start destroying artifacts because there's historical proof that Caucasians in habited china eons ago and intermingled(they have the mummified bodies).
The thing about games is that they don't rely writing as a strength, they have to be mechanically sound. Movies and other forms of media don't have that luxury. But creating a mechanically sound game has a higher level of competency involved than a verbal script.

Dude China is about a billion times worse than any type of corporate danger hair thing. They're not some benevolent force, they're career politicians given immense power over everyone's lives.
They already censored boobs in anime due to their standards among other things. They're also doing a fucking amazing job of fucking the Chinese economy harder than Biden fucked the US economy, so if you think you have it bad, they can't even escape their government in any form.

But like I said that's just bad writing, and anime has done similar stuff like that multiple times without needing any prodding from outside sources.
I mean Earth Maiden Arjuna had that exact same unrealistic logic shit happen to promote a green agenda. Up to and including having people marvel at her gut bacteria because she was alone in the mountains for a few days eating roots. Each episode included a lecture at the end and one even wanted the homeless people to be forcibly made to work on farms, because we'll be less reliant on farming equipment that spreads CO2 and also with more vegetables people won't eat meat.
