American Krogan is(or was? is he still doing it?) the Fallout mod as a way to attract attention. He stated as much, its a way to draw attention to the issue, and an attempt at..."responding" to the dominant culture and industry's anti White activism.

(He's advocated making mobile games in the past for this reason). I don't begrudge his project, but he's not doing it for fun, and he should have known it would attract hostile attention.

2016 - CY also had me at a crossroads re: separating art and artist.

In all but the most crazy-ass circumstances, I've chosen to ignore the artist. Fuck their social media, fuck their interviews. Fuck them.
90%+ of the time I believe the artist to be wrong, even about the art they produce.

The ancient Greeks believed that the art comes through the artist - the artist being a conduit or vessel.
Divinity provides the art. All a human can do is pollute that beauty.

So, fuck their beliefs/politics/thoughts. They have nothing to do with it anyway.

Unfortunate news, as the lead voice actor for Leisure Suit Larry has died at the age of 68.

This game was at one point a part of Culture War™ when young gamers wanted to see how far adult/mature content can be pushed in the PS2/XBOX/GameCube era. Personally, I remember when I saw this game being put out in the days of Blockbuster, and it was the time when I remember actual adults trying to sway their kids away from playing this.

Overall, this game was a real gem. Though, it’s a shame the real voice actor won’t be around anymore to see new titles being made after this.

Came across this on Jesse Singal's (!!!!!!) Twitter. Cuban from a poor, multiracial background working in the literary industry is interviewed and calls out how the literary world is dominated by upper middle class white lifestylists and idealists. He points out how in spite of their buzzwords and ideology, they're inherently aggressive and reactionary when it comes to actual diverse opinions from people of color and the lower classes and will do whatever performative action needed to maintain their social system.

What happens?

Those upper middle class white lifestylists get upset, resign in mass to protest this Cuban being given an interview and then proceed to slander him in a DARVO PR campaign, proving everything the interviewee said was right.

The upper middle class New York liberal who reads Harper's magazine and pretends they know all the big-name postmodernists is a deeply insecure status driven creature. These people are both extremely cowardly, and extremely conscious of how delicate their social status is. Saw this interview yesterday for anyone who's interested. It's a long one, but there's some great new insights into what this motivates and sustains this fagtastic wokery. The guy makes a great point that the woke mind virus has effectively made irrelevant any differences between left and right since both are, at least for the moment, willing to band together as long as they get to oppose The Woke.
Also does a great job equating them to a hysterical puritan movement like what caused the Salem witch trials.

Don't even need to do that. Just choose your company much more carefully and vett the people you hang with. I've played plenty of online where I've had next to no "toxic" crap to deal with, and any shittalk within a game was when I or somebody else did something legit dumb.

If you a place is "toxic", leave, find a better one. It takes WORK, but it also WORKS.
 
This happened a while ago, but I just noticed it and it's one of the worst things I've ever seen in a video game.

The "Mark of Pride" face paint for Forbidden West, added in a recent patch.

No matter what your opinions on completely unnecessary gay shit everywhere, this paint is hideous. Literally eleven different colors all at the same time. Actual clowns wear fewer colors on their face. And to make it even worse, it's not really put together in a cohesive way. They just kind of smeared some colors on random spots on her face. I'm not even a graphic designer and I could have made this far less hideous.

Also, it makes zero sense from a worldbuilding standpoint. This isn't just the rainbow buttsex flag, it's specifically the early 21st century "progressive flag", with the troon and BLM colors. I can kind of see Aloy wearing a rainbow on her face just because rainbows are pretty and they actually exist in their world, but the idea here is that every trace of humanity was obliterated during the Faro Wars or whatever, save for major things like ruins or carefully protected data files. You're telling me that Aloy discovered the design for this garish flag somewhere and said "you know what, I think I'll put eleven fucking colors all over my face, because that's something a grizzled hunter would do"? Or did she just let a toddler get at the fingerpaint and it happened to turn out like this? Because I could buy that explanation.

I'm assuming that someone from the Old World had it saved in one their Bluetooths as "Pride_is_Strength.png" and she came across it and took it an little bit too literally.

I dunno I think a Pride Flag paint on someone with Dead eyes and autism face is completely accurate.

And people wonder why when Sony fans bought their first PS5, they wanted to play Elden Ring and (shockingly) The Last of Us: Part II over this. This kind of stuff, even with minor virtue signaling, just looks meaningless and does nothing to advance or change the plot of Aloy’s story.

You can’t imagine them ever putting on “Mark of Pride” paint on someone like Lara Croft. Ask yourself why that is.

Oh I think Horizon Zero dawn is one of the most over-rated piece of shit games that has ever been propped up by retard fanboys.

All the AAA "Exclusive" Sony properties are the same formula* and even TLOUS 2 looked like it did a better job at that formula than Horizon does. Why the fuck would I ever play Horizon when I could just load up GOW 4(or 5 now) or Ghost of Tsushima and have a better version of what Horizon does without the garbage show of the fact that the gameplay absolutely falls apart on the hardest difficulties because the Boss Enemies are entirely unaffected by Traps.
