Well the PC Port of Dungeon Travelers 2 has been banned by Valve because it was supposedly deemed to have inappropriate scenes regarding minors.

No Gog release is planned and Nintendo tends to use Steam's Banned Database as a guide to what not to allow on their own systems(Dual Princess was pulled from both japan and North American E-Shop right after Steam banned it and they also banned Super Seducer from the switch as well). So looks like the game's future is pretty dead at this point and only ever got ported to Vita with a physical release.

It's nice to know the more things change, the more they stay the same

KYS faggot also shame they wont do anything about the troons who want to chop kids privates off

False. It was removed, but no reason was given.
It's reason is not on the Database but many of the articles written about it reference it. Hence why I said supposedly.

If it’s about more diversity here, why is it in the last 12-18 hours your posts are filled with Autistic and Dumb stickers whenever you post anything Sony or GOG related?
I can't explain, I'm not all well versed in NPC programming.

Looks like Katrina may have gotten a talk about her behavior.

What the fuck is your problem? You're just a bunch of fucking incels who can't get laid, so you take it out on innocent companies and their customers. Joe Rogan would be ashamed of you if he knew what pathetic losers you all were.

The woke mentality and social media played very little in the current state of things and they're honestly a side effect, it more had to do with monopolies and buyouts. There used to be a large variety of media companies but now they're all owned by a small handful of umbrellas. Take for example Western RPGs, all the big series are either owned by EA, Microsoft, or Ubisoft. But long term it's not going to stay that way. companies sell shit off all the time. Companies despite how large they are have finite resources and can't invest in every IP they own, it's sometimes more profitable to just clear things out. Companies like Embracer exist to look for IP deals they can get their hands on that other companies are offloading and even have expanded into board games.
The woke mentality and social media definitely played a role in the current state of things. Joe Rogan was right when he said that the monopolies and buyouts are what led to the decline of Western RPGs. The big companies like EA, Microsoft, and Ubisoft own all the major series now, but that won't last forever. They'll eventually sell off some of their IPs to other companies who are willing to invest more resources into them. Embracer is one of those companies, and they're already making waves in the board game industry. So don't write off Western RPGs just yet!

XSEED are hiring a Localization Assistant and Localization Editor for their games.

The issue is that neither of these positions require you to have knowledge of Japanese despite the role itself stating that you will be proofreading the translators work to make sure it's accurate.

Obviously they won't be doing the translating itself but when your job is literally checking to make sure the translator hasn't fucked up I feel like knowledge of the language should be considered a must.

They meant the translator fucked up by allowing the original author's meaning to get through instead of boosting trannies and turning everyone into a tranny given the slightest excuse, or if the translator fucked up by not including enough references to GamerGate.

No it actually means they're going to be using a machine translator and your job is to correct any grammatical errors.

The machine translators are pretty spot on for the majority of stuff and work faster than a human. They're the ideal option for lower budget games that can't afford a full localization team. They can generate jumbled phrases from time to time and those will be the things that the editor will more than likely have to spend most of their time fixing.

Honestly, you're probably right about that part.

It's the same sort of thing as to why you rarely find non-woke teachers. Being a translator does not pay.

There was an infamous incident where a fan-translator accurately used the word "tranny" in a sentence, if I recall. They were immediately harangued. You can't even find a version of the translation with the original, non-sanitized translated line in it anymore without digging last I checked. It is mysteriously excluded from some, if not all, Internet Archive collections of that translation.

It is, mercifully, preserved here on KF:

If you're going to make up bullshit you should at least give a curated example, that's just lazy.

Machine translation is absolutely disastrous at all forms of conversational speech.
Blue Reflection used machine translation because there was a fuckload of errors in the game itself that were clearly made by a machine.

Tales of berseria they cheaped out towards the end, because the post game was again all machine translated script with the same assorted errors. I guess they didn't figure people would get that far.

Also the idea that "localization" doesn't just equal "woke-alization" is nonsense at this point.

localization teams actually work fairly close with the whole process. Developers and publishers want same day global releases and it helps to have everyone on the same page.
