Even the japanese nintendo eshop and amazon jp (alternatively, the PSVita side) both have a tag for the genre showcasing all the text adventure games (such as Danganronpa, Steins Gate, Higurashi, etc) to further prove my point.

Dude they mix and match the terminology like remake and remaster does.

The majority of stuff that Japan puts out are straightforward stuff that you just click through boxes for a story. That gets thrown together with stuff like Utawererumono which has a bit more depth to it.

A ton of it is so they can present shovelware with an air of legitimacy. But most of them would be considered short stories that you pay 60 bucks for.

Hell the ports of Famicom detective club show this in spades, because they're direct remakes of older games, they have a bit more game elements to them than people who only play VNs didn't really like because they were a bit more than just braindead light games elements. They the audience just wanted their story and treated the gameplay as an inconvenience.

And if you think I'm overblowing this or anything I'm not, multiples of these games get OK'd for release every week

The old costume isn't in the new re-release? That's a shame but at least the new costume is decently sexy, but not like the original.

Honestly, I preferred the tradcons to the SJWs to begin with. I'm not getting lectured by them which is funny and they're doing it to save my soul rather than spare someone's feelings. These two things make them much less insufferable in my eyes.

And who knows? Maybe game devs will spite them once more and we get back to the 90's and early 00's.

That might be exactly what happens, if the right gets increasingly angry about sexual content, then the left will want to put T&A back in games to spite them.

Hopefully that's what will happen.

The tradcons were "free speech" because they saw an opening to gain ground against the increasingly censorious left, who were previously also free speech until they had enough power to overtake the right.

Both sides will inevitably attempt censorship because they both believe that forcing their ideals on society will help improve it. Different sides of the same coin.

It is and that's why I've always been hesitant to really myself a conservative.

Except you're at the point where the anti-censorship crowd is looking for even the tiniest bit of censorship to be outraged over.

There's been no major change or shift in anything, so they're attempting to trump up outrage. it looks like they'll overstep their bounds well before any pro-censorship thing does.

When are just going to admit that the push for "diversity" in gaming... made video games worse? Gaming was better when no one gave a fuck what you were when making games, they cared about your talent, nobody gave a shit that John Romero was part Hispanic, they cared that he made DOOM.

Gamers knew what the era of forced diversity was going to lead to and were in the right to try to stop it and offer some pushback, do these fucks really think they deserved to seize control of an entire business, hobby, subculture and medium without a fight?

The only way out is through.

But good news! All that needs to happen is that small independent developers (full of white guys) keep putting out superior products that make the big names look like trash. The Ascent completely blew out Cyperpunk 2077 in terms of look, feel, gameplay, and just shear craftsmanship and it was made by 12 white dudes just plugging away with a single vision.

No I mean that both sides have pretty much stagnated, there's no real big set pieces for either ideological sides to attack.

Like many are currently jumping the gun looking for censorship where there isn't any and have been grasping at straws for awhile now like routinely trying to make mountains out of molehills. The biggest changes I would say recently is with the GTA Remaster changes and those are not even sparking marketable outrage because the main audience for GTA at this point are shark card whores and not people who play offline games.

If stuff like Saint's Row comes out and bombs it will just be forgotten since their parent company has a shitload of IPs at their disposal. The Woke stuff will just go away by literally doing nothing, but many people just want a fight.

I mean I'm seeing people trying to use the feminist tactics against them, but feminist tactics only work if you have a pussy pass. They're null and void without one.
