Lol James Roufle (Angry Video Game Nerd) invented the whole "screaming, angry video game review" and he is the best dad of them all. James and Yahtzee both realized they are playing characters while every one is just that big of a dipshit.

Could it be that he's just so salty an 8 year old beat his ass in mario kart he went and made this article about how he hates his kid fucking around in online games?

Well the fact he stays out of social media and does things by the book kept him sane. He doesn't dabble with politics or shutting down random nobody to think hes right. Heres to hope he gets his own boat since he loves Spiritfarer or games with sailing.

Same with Rolfe, they created the persona of an critic with no mercy for the blinding hype the corps provided but it never degenerated to politics to look smarters.

Then look at Tranny Sterling and see how far they fallen because they couldn't stop picking fights and looking for things to accuse people of. Or Dia Lacina who lives off being pelted with cum crusted crumple paper with the word "Dilate"
 
Don't forget getting off of Something Awful really helped keep Yahtzee from pozzing out and falling down that rabbit hole of suck.

And to think, if only Lowtax had been willing to actually pay Yahtzee instead of just offering him a Games modship.

Considering that they're already teasing egypt by the end of Ragnarok, I really doubt they're going with this. They're going with "gods are known by names in some cultures and then go by different names in others". Because they brought back a ton of enemies from the Greek games for this already. You have clearly greek and roman mythological monsters, and the support abilities have an Ibex being summoned. There's also zero reference to giant crocodiles in any norse myth but they're in this game.

You might be right from a post-facto narrative stand-point but let's be real, in Current Year™ we all know why they made that particular character that particular ethnicity and it sure as shit wasn't because some writer dusted off his copy of American Gods.

If they really wanted woke points they would have made Odin be black. Angrboa is quite a few tiers down from him.

I mean when disney did it, they even went higher on the Norse Mythology scale for Thor. I mean that had no basis on overall narrative and that was entirely on "lets make Norse gods black just because".
