So, blast sisters, what's the game about?
I played enough (before refund) to know you're part of a faction, get wiped out, revive somehow, and go looking for survivors.
What's the "story"? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Some god guys are mad the world is falling apart, so the bring the main guy back from the dead because he’s smooth brained, powerful and willing to go wherever they point.

But the main guy’s so retarded and the world’s so big he gets distracted easily, which causes him to constantly be used by everyone he comes across.
Eventually he realises he has a letter in his inventory he can’t sell and he’s runs out of space.
He reads it, it doesn’t make any sense, but a new marker on his map appears and now he’s carrying the will of the god guys again.

I’m up to chapter 5 and this appears to be story/gameplay loop.

Of course a grummz dick rider had to go on a whole spiel about this game

Ended up with this game because AMD bundled it with the 9850x3d and I didn't even notice until I got an email about it last week. Well now that I'm 15~ hours in, I have to say I've been enjoying it more than not. The patch yesterday absolutely improved the responsiveness with a controller for moving which was one of the major annoyances.

The music is fine, the visuals are well above average (using a 5090 at 1440p), the dialogue is bad and I fast forward through most of it, and the combat and exploration I've enjoyed more than expected. I don't think there's a good chance of the devs unfucking the weird UI but maybe modders will in the future. The 8bitdo controller has been very useful with the rebindable 4 extra buttons on it to the point it almost feels required so that I don't need to remember additional input combos for some actions.

It feels like a 6/10 game that is being held back by retarded design decisions from being a solid 8.5/10 but I've been enjoying it regardless.

I literally *just* figured out you can summon the girl to work with you on pretty much everything except the main quests...

To the point that I think I had a glitch the new patch fixed, because I swear I would hit "summon" and it would just make me play as her somewhere else in the world.

I also want to say for all the talk of Pearl Abyss being after a cash grab, it's kind of crazy they spent the whole weekend working on a patch.

I'm thinking about just dropping it and waiting a year for it to be good. I got really lucky ignoring Cyberpunk entirely for the first 3 years and then picking it up and having a blast. I feel like I'll regret if I power through this game now, so hopefully it won't take 3 years.

Speaking of dickriders, Andy Cortez of Kinda Funny hypocritically thinks that gamers enjoying playing Crimson Desert are a bunch of "loser chuds" except for himself.
And Andy Cortez literally looks like a soyboy beta cuck.
a man begging for pussy crumbs is always fucking pathetic.
i guess it works? because if it didn't them dudes wouldn't do it...

Every time I see something new about this game I get more unsure if I'll like it or not.
It seems insanely bloated with useless and retarded mechanics, and filled with annoying tutorials.
But then I see a combat clip, hear about the exploration, or see the fat cat and it seems right up my alley.

I'm not paying full price for something I may hate, but I'm really curious. After decades of playing vidya I find it really hard to find a game I don't "get" after seeing a couple of clips.

3 million copies in a week. This is exactly why slop keeps happening.
Considering the aggressive marketing and the hype machine fuelled by a horde of faggot jewtubers, I would not be surprised at that number.

But, I still don't trust it, especially since the people behind that number are sneaky gooks.
I see it as a form of gaslighting, to edge the people who are still on the fence.
They didn't say how many refunds or how many were sold as a package deal with components.

Fuck them gooks, bro!
Why would you trust a nation who's famous for plastic surgery?
Those fuckers even have fake faces!

The thread and what my irl co-worker tells I'm better off waiting for a sale. I'm sure it's "fine", but I have a big enough backlog as it is.

Maybe this game sucks, maybe it's great, maybe I'll enjoy it, maybe I'll hate it.

The only thing I'm certain of is I'm glad I never pre-order games anymore.

I'll try this one eventually in a year or two when it's on sale.

Fuck them gooks, bro!
Meh. Anytime the western press and game dev industry gets its panties twisted over something, it warms my cold black heart. That the Koreans are just aping western AAA tactics to "astroturf" a mid-tier game and beating them at their own game is icing on the cake.

SheenShots put out a pretty funny video making fun of the game:

I've watched Sheen for years, back when the only game he played was Outward and he had less then 10K subs. Watching him enjoy Outward and his genuine positivity for it got me to give the game another shot after I fell off and it became one of my favorite games of all time despite the jank. I think this is his first video dedicated to hating a game and I think he did pretty good.
