Crimson Desert - Korean devs really like deserts huh?

I am liking it the more I play it, but I think the sky sections are obviously the worst part of the game.

I have unlocked the first additional playable character, and it's making me wonder if the weird dialogue has to do with having multiple characters. Maybe there are these pauses because they didn't want to record different versions of conversation with each character? I haven't done enough side quests with her to really know yet but it's just a thought I've had.

Steam (expectedly) told me tough titty. I was also really drunk attempting the jumps on that sky puzzle last night, so nothing to do but throw myself at it again.

I do really like the environments and how you can get lost in them. I spent a good hour and a half gathering ore last night to refine my armor and weapons, getting distracted by little side adventures as I did.

The game is good, but there are just so many retard filters making people claim its bad.
So true, sister!
I especially like the combat, so epic, so flashy!!

Btw sis, Steam has a recording function.
You should share with us some recordings of your epic gameplay and performance, to own those retards who got filtered.
We had a synthsissy in the thread, who didn't even play the game, but kept yapping that the issues people had were due to low iq.
You're not a massive faggot like that, sis, right? I trust you, so share and teach the tards how a TRVE GAMER handles this title.

So you bought the game, hated it and didn't refund it?

Or did you not realize you can turn those effects down/off in the options menu? Cause yeah, I turned that shit down right away.

I was really looking forward to this game because I keep seeing comparisons to Breath of the Wild, which I loved but couldn't stand the weapon breaking. I can definitely see the outright copying of elements from those games, however, the controls do indeed feel terrible. It feels like I'm fighting them the entire time except in combat.

I've only played to the second chapter so far (about two hours in), and I'm enjoying myself but the I keep feeling like it'd be a thousand times better with some tweaks to the controls. Hopefully they'll allow remapping in a future patch.

I will say that the movement feels a lot like RDR2 (I'd say slightly better to be honest), so if anyone acts like this is the worst game ever made but thinks RDR2 is amazing is a faggot. If that helps put things into perspective. But there was a mod for that game, which made smoother analog movement, so hopefully something similar will be made as well.

I did refund after close to 2h.

We get it, you don't like the game.
Yes.
But you misunderstand, I don't have an issue with people liking it, as I accept that taste is subjective.
I simply have issue with retards that hand wave other people's grievances with some retarded argument.
My post history in this thread is testament to that.

Sounds like it’ll be soon

What exactly is it that you have trouble with?

I will say I think the horse controls are dumb. The camera doesn't follow behind the horse, but the second you take your thumb off A the horse seems to start coming to a complete halt.

But for generally just moving Kliff around, it doesn't feel much different than RDR2 if I'm being honest. Which, I have my issues with RDR2 but I wouldn't say those controls were terrible. I actually think CD fixes a big issue by having the "pointer" button for when you're trying to pick up items. So I guess I agree with you on the people who are praising RDR2 but saying CD is terrible.

I did refund after close to 2h.
I'm 10 hours in and haven't unlocked a quarter of those flashy abilities...

The fast travel system feels incongruous with the rest of the setting. I did not expect weird eldritch looking parachute magic in what appears to be a fairly straightforward adventure fantasy setting. Its kind of like Hermaeus Mora's realm in the Dragonborn DLC for Skyrim, except the difference is that Apocrypha is intended to be that way while the fast travel system in Crimson Desert isn't.
this makes sense if you have played black desert, they even have shais, alustin and white crow in it, direct fucking references to the MMO.
not to mention the whole techno-stone stuff...

eeh that's nothing compared to what the studio is used to do, really:
you can see the korean gonner stuff if you try to see the video from the beginning...

and no this isn't a bungie marathon/destiny situation where i am one of THE RRRAPED coming to complain about the game, it's just that you start to clock the similarities after being used to it after... well...

kill me, these are rookie numbers...

i will admit that it is funny seeing the entire western journo scum having a melty at a second korean game, and this one is pretty tame on the goon material considering the studio's history...

It's definitely not good but in a weird way I find John Crimson Desert's voice acting charming. The VA is so uncaring, and flat, and emotionless, and bored sounding he reminds me of the neutral guys from Futurama.

"I have no strong feelings one way or the other!"

So all this stuff wasn't a last minute addition like a lot of people are claiming and was just weird shit from the MMO?

I saw this pop up in an Elden Ring fan group on Facebook and laughed at the seethe. It's crazy how the tribalism has moved away from consoles and is now seemingly with IP and Developers now.

those really are some rookie numbers, I have about 600 more hours than you and it still feels kinda small
it is, although most of the hours you will get lategame is from auto grinding, if you look at the subplebbit you'll see and i sure as shit won't leave my pc on for that crap, anymore...

nah, they seem to go through the multiverse shit so black desert's is another universe but these recurring characters from both games look like a multiverse difference kinda like spider man from one universe vs nigger morales for example, except for alustin and white crow it seems, they look 1:1 between both games, even alustin showing himself as a hobo first...

claiming it's the next witcher when it plays like assassins creed but with skills is what killed me on the image, also UE5, because PA uses a in-house engine.
