Does anyone remember the paranormal case of a disembodied voice which knew things about petitioners the family in the house had no way of knowing? I thought it was
Gef the Mongoose, but I remember it possibly being called The
Such-and-Such Witch for whatever reason, and one of the stories being a discussion on stealing where a guest to the home said something along the lines of stealing not being a sin if it were necessary for a person to eat, to which the voice replied "Did you eat those sheepskins?" alluding to a past theft of the man's. May have been in America, late 18th or early 19th century.
