Well, it's finally coming.
Bishop Garrison, a former Clinton and Obama administration figure, a 1619 Program supporter, and well known for saying that if you supported Trump you're a racist, white nationalist, and extremist, is now leading the "Countering Extremism Working Group" for the Pentagon.
The list of "extremist imagery" also has the "Come and Take It" flag, and a lot of the extremist 'identification' is pretty much believing in the US, questioning the government, asking if the US is capable of defeating a near-peer opponent.
The big thing is they plan to change the UCMJ, and every time I hear that, I cringe. The UCMJ is already harsh and controlling, and the idea of changing it to outlaw "extremism" when there's already mechanisms for anti-American activities, is frankly a little worrying.
Well, who is Garrison?
Well, he's on Human Rights First: https://www.humanrightsfirst.org/biography/bishop-garrison
Here he is on Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/bishopgarrison
Have an article of race-baiting written by him: https://inkstickmedia.com/racism-is-an-existential-threat/
Another interesting thing is that Garrison wants these changes pushed through fast. The document is listed at 9 Apr 2021, and want changes put in place and implemented within 90 days of 14 April 2021.
It's funny. Garrison there benefited from one of the most meritocratic organizations in America and immediately is turning around, screaming racism, and trying to tear it apart. I guess that combat tour between 2003-2004 and his "150 missions" must have really exposed him to some serious racists in the ranks.

@JosephStalin and I remember when the thought of something like this would have been laughed off.
And since I once saw a senior office go ballistic over an "Eddie" poster from "The Trooper" by Iron Maiden, I don't have much confidence of senior military leaders identifying extremism outside of "White people bad" and mistaking the Union Jack for the Confederate flag.
