The CRK community is composed of a loud, new-gen young audience that has shaped their entire identity around the game's characters. They are no strangers to harassing other fans over which ships they like or dislike (cases like Eternal Sugar Cookie and Hollyberry Cookie), or even the devs themselves in relation to some of the characters' genders, Snakefruit Cookie was canonized as being female in a new skin update, then quickly retconned as a "they" after loud pushback from part the fanbase; same deal for Pitaya Dragon Cookie, but male.

I can't pinpoint exactly the moment the fanbase went sour, but after Shadow Milk Cookie's release it definitely went completely bonkers and got overrun by mental illness.

As someone who has known about Cookie Run before Kingdom's release, the fanbase has always been like this. Back in the day instead of harassment on Twitter or Tiktok, it would be on Tumblr or the Devsis forums (so sad they never got archived). The difference back then was that it was a much more niche mobile game in the west, so it was easy to ignore and the devs didn't care. Kingdom just got popular, a lot of new people came to the franchise and it made the mental retardation be even bigger.
 
This is the first time I've heard of people killing themselves over a ending for something and it's over fucking Cookie Run out of all things. This might be the most surprising thing that I've seen all week. Has this ever happened before in a fandom or is this a first?

Pretty sure some bronies did actually kill themselves over G4 ending, but a lot of them just moved on and became furfags, or in Digibro's case, tranny pedophiles.

This should be applied to a lot of minors in fandoms. Unrestricted internet access mixed with being in a predominately lefty community will render these people broken because they've been mincemeat on how to think and what to do on the internet. Being a Cookie Run fan essentially puts you in purgatory. I don't know how anyone can mentally survive being in that community at all.
