Speaking of board games, I saw this at Barnes and Noble:

I don't mind board games with licensed properties, but this thing takes the cake for the most autistic thing I've ever seen. No doubt the faggots on Reddit and Twitter will eat it up.

Nope. I also didn't grow up playing board games with people either so I don't have nostalgia to fall back on. I've even played DnD and Pathfinder with groups that had regular meetings and I still just never enjoyed it. I kept going because I liked the people and wanted to spend time with them.

I didn't know they still had vending machines where you could get random Pokemon cards, let alone rare ones. I always got common ones when I used them.
I like how the kid has no reaction while the dad spergs out.
 
There's a lot of handringing/bitching/crying from many He-Man fans that missed out on one or all three of the Power Con Exclusives. They went up for sell on Saturday at a particular time for non convention attendees (while convention attendees had a week before to pre=order their's). They were sold on the Power-Con site for the cost, plus a big shipping, while on Big Bad Toy Store, they were sold at a markup, but that site has flat shipping and their pile of loot system where items can stock until you choose to ship.

The Power Con site went down for 30 mins or so and by the time it came back up, their product was sold out. BBTS sold out in about ten minutes, so the adult collectors who only tried Power Con's site, many missed out. And the reactions on social media have been what'd you'd expect from overgrown man babies. Some are playing the my kids wanted them card (riiiighhtttt), other playing I wanted to be loyal to the con site itself card (no, you were too stupid to be tactical about it), and some are playing the you f'd up, produce more card. The sets are all up on eBay for inflated prices. I'm sure some will end up paying the eBay prices because adult toy collecting is the a gotta collect them all (whom had all toys of a toyline when there were kids?). Just pathetic.

Yeah, contact the developers and tell them you need to hoard more copies of their game that you've never played. I'm sure they'll just send you more.

I don't really get Limited Run Games and other companies that release digital-only games on physical media. Unless you can somehow find a copy for cheaper than the digital price, what's the point? I guess the Switch version will save you download space, but is it really worth spending $10-$100 more for something that's usually shorter than most big name games?

Because some of the console exclusive titles get pulled eventually for various reasons, and sometimes there is no way to play them again. This is going to be a problem in the future if they ever eliminate physical media entirely from video game consoles.

Example - what if there was a title in the Switch store I wanted to play, was unique to the system, but the Switch store has been closed for years (hypothetical here)? If I don't have a physical copy, tough shit, unless emulation for the system has advanced on it but I don't see that for a long time.

True, but Floridians typically hate Disney for bringing in so many tourists/construction projects and jacking up the cost of living. The only ones I know who regularly go to the park are Disney employees, which is just cultish.
 
Even though I plan to build a PC on a $1000-$1500 budget (to replace my aging and overheating laptop), Let me bring you: The Gaming PC consoomers.

Just like the PS5 consoomers and Switch consoomers I will link some posts by redditors “flexing” their very expensive setup.




PS: I have seen people spend $5000 to $6000 dollars on PC’s!



Now If you are doing shit like 3D rendering, you could get a pass, but since most want to do a $3000 gaming rig just to do gaming and other stuff, it just irks me.

I wonder what the melting point of a Funko pop is. The memory modules on the back of a 3090 can get up to 100 degrees Celsius.
 
Being into Boutique blu-ray labels there's a lot of Consoomer Culture that goes a long with it unfortunately. Criterion being one of the more well known is a big example of this where every sale it seems that people are competing with each other to see how much they can spend and very commonly they just blind buy. I can't understand it much given the price they go for, but for the annoying consoomers what's important is the logo. Even if there are better releases of the same film or collection from another label they'll go out of their way to buy the criterion because of the logo.

Fans sometimes like to joke about it being a cult, but honestly the level of obsession from some is way too much. They'll throw fits about whether a film "deserves" to be a part of the collection or not and if it degrades the value of the Criterion logo. Two prime examples are when Criterion announced Breakfast Club (too mainstream for them) or when they announced the Godzilla set as spine #1000 (which people got upset about because it was "taking away" the specialness of that spine number from a "more deserving" release).

Other boutique labels have problems, like charging a bunch for a limited edition set which is mostly tat or their limited edition just includes a slipcover yet consoomers act like rabid dogs to get them (paying ridiculous amounts on the second-hand market for both kinds). There's a big problem in the hobby of people spending thousands on rapidly increasing their collections only to barely watch any of the films they get because their main enjoyment is just buying and showing off.

The fact the Funko pop boxes were displayed along with all the other components made me irrationally angry and disgusted.

I sub to /r/boutiquebluray and there's a lot of soomers on there. I like collecting films cause I intend on watching everything I buy. But I swear some folks just randsack labels and deals. I will admit I have an issue since I get a lot of films but I barely watch / open like 5% of em. I'm trying to rip them to digital so I have an easier way to watching em. But its a process. This is the second year I've sub'd to Vinegar Syndrome's yearly package. I mainly do it as a means to help preserve older films. Without companies like VS, these films could disappear.

Also @Moguro Fukuzou have you seen this?

I mainly collect boutique since they're typically where older films get nice releases or even just a release at all. Also sometimes fall into the issue of buying faster than I watch, though whenever I look at the level of hauls on r/boutiquebluray I think I'm not that bad.

If thats true, then yeah thats nuts. Atleast high quality tools can be passed down to grandkids and can be used for X number of things.
There is an odd sect of people who need top shelf everything when cheap or median price/ quality would work out.
Examples 'bushcraft' types who need a sturdy-can-do-hand-forged-knife to split logs and gut deer while maybe they go for a stroll in the woods one week end a month.
I feel its most common with artsy types who have expensive pencils,pens,paints,brushes you name it but lack the skills to warrent the quality.
People try to buy skill, or think what they buy will let them skip ahead skill levels.
Or take people who get into a hobby and need everything to look the part.
Gonna start biking to work and around town? Well you need the slick helmet, sunglasses, tights, gloves, special tires extra
